These questions need to be answered step-wise:
However, if you do not wish to get into research after your PG and instead plan to join the workforce, I would suggest you to rather go for IIT Bombay or IIT Kharagpur.
Thus, I have made an effort to give you my perspective on this question and share my knowledge to help you make a more informed choice.
NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.
Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.
Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.
Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
To be brutally honest, IIT Delhi M.Tech program of the Atmospheric-Oceanic Science and Technology branch has a very poor placement scenario. Core job opportunities are scarce and hardly any companies visit with core job offers.
Most students from this branch prefer choosing an elective from the branch that matches their preferences and try to use that knowledge during their placements. Sometimes companies don’t even shortlist this department for placements but you can approach them with the proof that you have studied the required subjects as electives although not as a core subject.
As there is no exact definition of a lucrative position, I will answer this question objectively. Firstly, there is no comparison between MTech and MBA as the latter has excellent job prospects while MTech does not.
As far as the Ocean Engineering department of IIT Madras is concerned, you definitely will have great career prospects after graduating from this department. The faculty are experts in their respective fields and because of the small size of the department, you get to interact much better with them.
But if we talk about placements, core companies offering roles are very limited, almost zero. This is a very specific branch and has limited opportunities to offer. This situation is similar in most MTech branches other than CSE and Electrical.
If you are genuinely enthusiastic about this branch, let me tell you this department has excellent research opportunities that will satisfy you. Anyone who prioritizes research over placements will find this branch to be pretty good. We can say that the prospects vary from person to person depending on an individual's commitment to the discipline.

I will never recommend you to choose NIT Kurukshetra because the administration is very disappointing and the entire system is in dilapidated condition. The CSE branch specifically is losing its charm. The official records claim some very good professors but the reality is most of them aren’t interested in teaching.
The result is declared after 4 months and the students were given backs by a margin of 1/4 of a mark. The duration of exams is long, giving no time for holidays. The Institute does not encourage any kind of educational tours or summer training. Research work is not promoted in any form. The only reason NIT Kurukshetra is still here is because of the hard work of students who get good packages.
If you get to pursue M.E. Software Systems in BITS Pilani that itself is a huge opportunity. You will get to pursue one of the most in-demand degrees from an elite college. It will help you in your future career prospects. However, what you will want to do after pursuing this degree, totally depends on your area of interest. If you can maintain a good CGPA, then you can expect to get placed in the top companies that visit our college for placements. You will get to work at top companies which will give you exposure in your field. If you want to go for higher studies then also M.E. in Software Systems is a good degree which will help you develop a good foundation in the subject. You can opt for PhD programs abroad or from the top institutes in India. BITS Pilani itself has a well-structured curriculum for doctorate programs.
I have a friend who completed his MTech in Civil and Infrastructure from IIT Patna and he shared his experience of the same with me.
Course structure: The curriculum was poorly structured and failed to provide specialized knowledge in any area. The subjects included Environmental Engineering, Railway Engineering, Structural dynamics, construction planning and management, reliability, economics, etc. The mixture of subjects made it a jack of all trades but a master of none.
Faculties: The faculty pool here is miserable and most of them are old people enjoying their life with government funds and facilities. They rarely take classes and when they do their pedagogy is pathetic and even the most difficult topics like Reliability, FEM, dynamics, etc. were poorly taught.
Research: Comparing the research culture here and that of other IITs you will realize how pathetic the scenario is here. The reason was the lack of faculties’ research capabilities. Neither were they involved in any research work nor did they promote it to the students.
I really hope actions are taken against the falling standards of IIT Patna and the IIT standards are restored.
I think IIT Gandhinagar MTech is a safer option to go with than a direct Ph.D. from IIT Patna. IIT Gandhinagar provides better learning experiences and opportunities to explore than IIT Patna. IIT Gandhinagar CSE faculty is exceptionally good and will help you if you are willing to do Ph.D. after MTech.
Unlike PhD and MTech guarantees a degree within 2 years and so if you end up changing your mind later you will not have wasted 5-6 years. You can decide whether to do Ph.D. or not while pursuing your MTech and play safe.
The overall academic experience and campus life are better at IIT Gandhinagar than at IIT Patna. Be it the food, facilities, faculty, alumni, or placements, IIT Gandhinagar has it all.
IIT Madras is the leading IIT in terms of growth in fields like ML and AI. it is taught by the very imminent expert in the field, Professor Balaram Ravindran. He has contributed largely to Machine Learning.
Additionally, MTech students of IIT Madras get the excellent opportunity to intern at MNCs like Microsoft, IBM, etc. IIT Delhi and IIT Madras are the only IITs offering internship opportunities for M.Tech. students. IIT Madras has a separate portal for PG internships like the already established portal for UG Internships. Many PPOs are provided on completion of internships.
Thus, both AI and ML are on the rise, and job opportunities on the same are increasing day by day.
