What are some of the problems at IIT Madras?
One of my friends is a student at IIT Madras and according to him, there are some problems that create a lot of difficulties for them. These include -
- All the students are required to maintain an attendance of a minimum of 85% which can be very difficult. IIT Madras focuses more on attendance rather than imparting knowledge to the students. If you are not able to maintain this percentage, then you won't be allowed to sit for the exam.
- Another major problem is the monkeys which creates a lot of problems. They enter the rooms and create a lot of mess.
- If you are a non-tamilian, then you might need to face a lot of problems while communicating both inside and outside of the campus.
- If you are using Auto for your transportation, then it will be very difficult to talk with the drivers, but it will be much easier if you travel through Ola and Uber.
Hence, these are some of the problems which the students might need to face during their graduation days at IIT Madras.
How is MDI gurgaon's PGP-IM Programme?
MDI Gurgaon’s PGP-IM Program is one of the most coveted Management courses of the institute. It has several features that distinguish it from other regular PGP courses offered at top B Schools. My brother opted for this course out of many and he listed the following reasons that compelled him to go for the program
- The PGP-IM students of MDI Gurgaon are offered an MBA degree from ESCP Europe and this is a major turning point in steering their career globally.
- The admission criteria of the programs have witnessed slight changes with a work experience of 2 years being a compulsion. This is mainly because most European companies prefer prior work experience and hence it becomes easier to get jobs then.
- The work experience requirement has made IM students of MDI Gurgaon in demand for Consulting jobs globally as well as locally.
- The course is dynamic and requires you to go to respective ESCP campuses across London, Madrid, Paris, and Berlin for a 4-month term post which you do your internships, either in Europe or back in India.
- Getting internships is not difficult at all and almost everyone gets an internship easily. 60% of students take internships in Europe, and 40% take them in India.
- If you fail to get or yourself don’t take the PPO from your internship companies, you can sit for Final placements along with PGDM students without any bias.
It’s the above points that strongly assert the worth of the IM program at MDI Gurgaon. As it’s graduate you are not only an MDI alumnus but also an ESCP alumnus. You can use both brand names to your advantage. Choosing MDI is like investing for 2 years for a benefit of 30-35 years. So the brand name and alumni base definitely matter more than just a random IIM tag.
Until what rank does the IPM IIM Indore merit list go for the general category?
This is something that will vary according to the year of admission. For any category, students up to a certain rank are decided according to the seats they have and are given provisional admission letters.
Thereafter if any student among them does not accept the offer and any seat is left vacant then only the next ranked candidate is offered the seat.
In previous years in the general category, students till the rank of 58 were offered the provisional admission letters and all others beyond the rank were in the consideration pool in case some students did not accept the offer.
Which is better: CSE at IIT, BHU or CSE at IIT, Hyderabad?
I think choosing IIT (BHU), Varanasi is a better option here considering the various perks it will offer
- The rare chance of studying CSE from one of the oldest IITs to exist. Remember the older, the more experienced.
- IIT BHU has a very rich coding culture which is promoted through international events like ACM ICPC, Google Code Jam, and Google Summer of Code.
- The campus welcomes all major software companies during placements both summer and final.
- You get to enjoy college life at a huge campus with students from all over the country
- IIT BHU focuses a lot on the holistic development of its students through various extracurricular activities l.
- You get a chance to explore the holy city of Varanasi.
IIT BHU is one of the oldest institutes and is daily a preferable choice to IIT Hyderabad, a new IIT.
Which IIT is better, IIT Delhi or IIT Kanpur?
Both IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur are known reputed academic institutions in India. However, being a student of IIT Kanpur myself I can share some vital insights with you about the institution. According to me, IIT Kanpur is a better choice in terms of curriculums, research opportunities, and facility members.
- IIT Kanpur is ranked 4th under NIRF rankings.
- IIT Kanpur offers both B.Tech and M.Tech programs for the students.
- The placement records for IIT Kanpur is also pretty good with a ratio of 95.90% of students being placed.
- The average package stood at INR 26.37 LPA.
- Some of the top recruiters for IIT Kanpur are Goldman Sachs, Reliance, ICICI Bank, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments etc.

Is there any biasness between students of IIIT Ranchi and NIT Jamshedpur?
Honestly, I don’t know if there is any bias between the students of IIIT Ranchi and NIT Jamshedpur. However, I can point out some common differences between these institutes that might help you get the answer yourself
- Infrastructure: NIT Jamshedpur has very poor infrastructure and the campus has 1960s buildings with poorly equipped classrooms. IIIT Ranchi on the other hand has air-conditioning and hygienic learning conditions.
- Curriculum: IIIT Ranchi has a CS-tailored curriculum whereas NIT has diverse branches so the curriculum is quite different.
- Campus life: Both the institutes have an active campus life with NIT Jamshedpur having a slight advantage in terms of the students-run clubs like RAYS, DAKSH, REVANTA, DRIFT, etc .
- Crowd: IIIT Ranchi has no Home State Quota so the crowd is much more diverse and talented than NIT Jamshedpur.
- Hostel: The hostel and mess facilities of both institutes are similar.

What is the most annoying thing about VNIT, Nagpur?
VNIT Nagpur is registering continuous growth over the years. However, a few annoying aspects of VNIT need proper attention from students and authorities alike.
These are-
- Hypocrisy and Bureaucracy within college Administration- This is the condition of not just VNIT, but most government colleges in India.
- Strict hostel timings for girls- In practice, boys do not face strict curfew timings like girls. Post 9 pm girls are restricted to hostels, and can’t even move within the VNIT campus.
- Student Body- Lack of a proper student body has resulted in a communication gap between students and college authorities. Sadly, the administration is not doing anything to solve this problem.
- Narrow Vision- The students and authorities mainly focus on grades and placements. Learning, personality development, and research aptitude are completely sidelined because of this attitude.
VNIT has immense potential as a national level engineering college. The authorities should work on these negative aspects to accelerate this institution’s growth.
What should I expect in the Christ University entrance test?
Christ University entrance test, CUET is conducted each year for most of the UG and PG courses. The examination duration is 90 mins. So, you will get 45 seconds for each question. The questions asked in the test are usually difficult.
The question pattern will depend on the course. Generally, there are short essay-type questions. Christ University changes its examination pattern regularly as well.
For preparation, be thorough with your basics and stay updated with the current affairs as much as you can.
What are the pros and cons of doing an MBBS at JIPMER in Puducherry?
Here are a few pros and cons of pursuing MBBS from JIPMER
Pros-
- You will meet some highly experienced doctors who will be your professors too. You will be amazed by their nature, their dealing with patience, and their motivating nature. You will start respecting them from the bottom of your hearts.
- You will be given the opportunity to take part in different procedures in neonatal resuscitation or the Pediatrics department. The residents are very helpful given that you are keen to learn.
- Pondicherry is a safe place for both boys and girls. You will experience a unique kind of freedom here. Girls stay out till 9-9:30 pm alone and dont face any issues at all.
- Pondicherry is a clean and pollution-free city that offers fresh breathable air.
- You will be away from the hustle and bustle of city life and get to experience a slow life. You get a lot of time to ponder upon the challenges life throws at you.
Cons
- North Indians might face language issues to a certain extent.
- Pondicherry does not have online delivery services like Swiggy, Big Basket, and Food Panda.
- There isn't any decent shopping place here. There is only Pothys which is only known for sarees and suits.
- There is no good bookstore near the campus for fictional books.
Overall, studying at JIPMER is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that shouldn't be underestimated at any cost.
Is it worth joining NIT silchar?
My father is an ex-TnP coordinator of NIT-Silchar, and I asked him the same question. Here is what he shared
- Research by faculty : NIT Silchar has a few faculty who are involved in research and are known in their respective fields.
- relevant forums.
- Research by students : NIT Silchar students work on materializing their fantasies through their research work. They apply the knowledge they have gained in fields such as machine design, Image Processing, Machine Learning, etc., and generate a lot of intellectual property.
- Placements (CSE) : Big companies like Goldman Sachs, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Wells Fargo, SAP Labs, Samsung R and D, Snapdeal, C-DOT (PSU), DRDO, etc. hire almost 50% of the CSE batch. Last year, 82 out of 97 students got placed in the CSE branch.
- Placements Core: Many PSUs along with some private firms come with decent packages. Companies like BPCL, HPCL, OIL, IOCL, ONGC, POWERGRID, HSCC, BEL, REC, DRDO(MOD, GOI), etc. visit NIT regularly.
- Start-Ups: NITs get funds directly from the government so NIT Silchar has its incubation cell.
- Campus Life: NIT Silchar campus spreads across 650 acres of Campus and is majorly run by students. Students manage most affairs from messes to Gymkhana Events. This inculcates managerial skills among the students.
So yes, NIT Silchar is worth every penny you spend here!
