Will I be able to change my branch in DTU/NSIT after the 1st year? If yes, then what is the criteria to change the branch after 1 year?

AB

NSIT Branch change Rules

Branch change in NSIT happens after 1st semester. NSUT has unique criteria regarding branch change. If there are vacant seats in the branch of your higher preference(as filled during the choice-filling procedure of JAC Delhi) and your JEE rank is better than other students who applied for branch change, then your branch changed automatically after the first semester. However, if you have filled out the branch freezing form at the time of admission or students who got admission during the spot round cannot change their branch.

DTU branch change

DTU has no branch change policy. In rare cases, if someone from a higher cutoff branch withdraws his admission after the spot round then the seat is filled by those who opted for that branch and not froze their current branch. The chances are almost low though.

Is IPM IIM Indore T.I.M.E online coaching good?

RA
Ritika Acharya Posted On : August 25th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2019)

One of my friends took T.I.M.E online coaching for IPM at IIM Indore and having read online reviews from similar aspirants here are some things I got to know.

  • This is a 5 years course. The reviews are average. A good path would be to go for CAT after your graduation.
  • But if T.I.M.E is what you want, then it is undoubtedly a good coaching institute for the CAT exam preparation. However, it will only help you if you do serious preparation.
  • During the offline coaching, things would be different and you can perform much better than while learning at online coaching.

It is suggested that offline preparation in TIME would be much better than enrolling online. So try to enroll in a classroom course if possible.

Which is better: PGDM or MBA from NMIMS?

DM
Deeksha Maurya Posted On : January 18th, 2022
B.Tech from SVKM's NMIMS (2020)

MBA and PGDM are more or less similar. The latter is considered to be a diploma and the former a degree. The Mumbai campus of NMIMS provides an MBA degree and a PGDM degree.

If you pursue an MBA you will be studying more of the theoretical aspects of management. An MBA institute will be following a fixed curriculum as it will be based on the university guidelines.

If you are  pursuing a PGDM course you will be gaining knowledge regarding building soft skills and the programme is more industry-oriented. An autonomous institute does not have to follow university standards, so it is free to change its curriculum according to industry standards and change in the business environment. The course will prepare you for a senior level position in a company.

It is suggested that if you are willing to do business management, be it MBA or PGDM, consider only the Mumbai campus, as it has better placements and opportunities than Hyderabad or Bangalore.

What is the worst thing about NIT Rourkela?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : August 14th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

One of my cousins is currently studying at NIT Rourkela and shared a few worrisome things about the institute that affected her learning experience

  • NIT Rourkela is surprisingly underestimated and does not get the fame it deserves. Only its students can get an idea of its incredibility.
  • Usually on Sundays, the campus witnesses a power cut from 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • The attendance policies are very rigid and a minimum of 87.5% attendance is required.
  • Rourkela does not have connectivity through flight. This makes traveling difficult for the students and also limits the number of recruiters.
  • The clubs are underfunded and therefore their performance is not very good.
  • The library is poorly stocked. It does not have books that are more important to students while exam preparations.
  • The institute has an overly secured campus with a large number of security forces.
  • The campus is overly large and one cannot travel by foot. You need to have a bicycle, to save time and energy.

However, the above-mentioned points aren’t very crucial and don’t affect the learning process directly. So it’s better to overlook them and focus on the bright side of the institute.

Can I get a seat at AIIMS Delhi if I start now?

DR
Dikhsha Roy Posted On : May 30th, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (2020)

Honestly, you won’t be able to get a seat at AIIMS if you start preparing now. You required an AIR within 100 in NEET, one of the most difficult exams for UG in India.

However, if you have studied for AIIMS previously and had taken a drop year then there are still chances. Give it your all and start studying passionately.

In most cases, however; it’s difficult to start from the beginning and get a seat unless you are a genius who gets 4-5 hours of sleep only and employs the best resources.

I have seen various people get admission with just a preparation of 4 months. Miracles do happen, all you need to do is believe in yourself and start preparing right away without wasting a single minute here.

I got 362 marks in BITSAT. Which is better, BITS, Pilani electrical or BITS, Goa CS?

AS

Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses.

  • You generally have to compete with the top students on the Campus. Also, the EEE course material is not everyone's cup of tea.
  • The EEE placements are quite good, though not for everyone. There are more high pointers in EEE than in any other branch. Thus good companies prefer to hire from among those.
  • Placements might be better for CS at Goa, though in some other respects you might sell yourself short with this choice.
Parameters&n BITS Goa BITS Pilani
Tuition Fee 3.99 lakhs 4.45 lakhs
Placement Average 94% 95%
Average CTC INR 5 LPA INR 18.05 LPA
Highest CTC INR 1.40 Cr INR 45 LPA

So, if you want an easy life, better go for CS in Goa. Otherwise, choose EEE at Pilani.

At NIT Rourkela hostel rooms, will every child be provided with a separate study table and cupboards? How many children per room can stay for the first years?

DD
Divya Das Posted On : August 14th, 2023
B.Tech Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2020)

NIT Rourkela hostel rooms are decent with enough space to house 2 students. From the 3rd year, students are allotted single-occupancy rooms.

  • A typical room in an NIT Rourkela hostel has all basic amenities like a table, chair, bed, fan, and light.
  • Additionally, there is a provision of free Internet facilities and also DCC.
  • Students can spend their leisure time in the common room which has facilities like indoor games, TV, a library room, and a common mess.
  • Food served in the mess is decent which is related weekly. Once a week, the menu comprises special dishes. There is a day canteen offering juice, milk, tea, coffee, sandwich, eggs, etc
  • The midnight cravings are catered to by night canteens that provide tea, snacks, Maggi, and other stuff.
  • There are decent sports facilities like a badminton court and also a garden.

Hope this was helpful!

How can I get duplicate certificate from Anna University?

PM
Pratibha Mishra Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Senior Technical Assistant at Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India (1985–present)

If your certificates are lost or damaged, you can order duplicate copies. There are procedures in place if they are lost, such as a paper ad or a non-traceable certificate from the police. You cannot apply for duplicate certificates when the originals are available (available on the website).

You can ask the management for the certificate's return or file a police report against the college if it refuses.
