I have done BE (Computer) and now pursuing ME from SGBAU Amravati, Maharashtra, India. I want to go to a corporate job. Will my ME make any benefit for me?

SS
Sahana Sikri, Posted On : November 18th, 2021
studied at SGBAU Amravati (2019)

Probably not but it may be useful if you want to be a professor, and should prepare yourself to do a Ph.D. from a more reputed university.

BE will help you understand the theory which you can ten implement practically. ME or M.Tech is basically for shifting to the teaching line. Though there are some specializations that will equip you with deeper technical knowledge.

During placements, you will have an edge over BE candidates. Students graduating with ME or M.Tech generally go for Research and Development.

Post Graduation has an advantage but for a corporate job, being a BE or B.Tech graduate, you can also apply. Studying 2 more years is a choice that varies from student to student. There is no right answer so, choose to do whatever you feel will be suitable for you.

Will I get into mechanical engineering in NIT Goa with a 40k rank in the JEE Main?

GS
Gargi Sen Posted On : August 28th, 2021
B.Tech CSE, NIT Goa (2020)

No, it is not possible to get admission to the mechanical engineering branch of NIT Puducherry with a rank of 40k, through another state quota. According to the 2020 cutoff trend, the closing cutoff of Mechanical Engineering for general category students was 31725.

So, your chance of getting admission with a rank of 40k through another state quota is pretty slim.

What should I go for, IT integrated (5 years) at IIITM Gwalior or CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur?

SP
Sneha Panday Posted On : July 29th, 2021
Studied at NIT Trichy (2019)

Having friends studying at both the institutions, I can say that both the colleges IIITDM Jabalpur and IIITM Gwalior are good. It will be a difficult choice to select one among them.

Both the colleges have a good reputation and provide their students with good Infrastructure, faculties, culture, and placements. Here’s discussing some facts about them which might guide you.

IT (Integrated) at IIITM Gwalior:

  • If you want to go for higher education then it will take you 1 year less.
  • You can pursue M.Tech again after the dual degree from IITs, but not many do that, they go for Ph.D. instead.
  • IIITM Gwalior definitely has a better coding culture and alumni network than IIITDM Jabalpur.
  • If you think that IT is a lower level compared to CSE then think twice. Placement wise both are at par.
  • There may be a bit of difference between the two in the course content but you can nullify it by self-studying.
  • You will get to sharpen your skills and work on more projects, learn more things in the one extra year. It never goes to waste.

CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur:

  • I would suggest you opt for it if you want to go into the workforce right after graduation and don’t want to spend one extra year.
  • Choose it if you want to do higher studies like M.Tech, MS, etc. from other more reputed institutions after 4years itself.
Categories IT Integrated at IIITM Gwalior CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur
Course Fee 6.70 lakhs 5.29 lakhs
Course Duration 5 years 4 years
Highest CTC 26 LPA 22 LPA
Average CTC 15 LPA 10 LPA
Recruiting Companies Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, HCL, etc. HP, Infosys, Wipro, Dell, etc.

I would suggest you do your side of the research too and ask other alumni for a better perspective because ultimately it is your decision.

Does Acharya Institute of Technology provide internship training in companies for aeronautical engineers?

KS
Krishna Shrivastava Posted On : March 19th, 2021
Studied at Acharya Institute of Technology

For students in Aeronautical Engineering, there are very limited opportunities in India for graduates. There are several instances in which students, even after interning from top organizations and universities, fail to frame a proper career in Aeronautical Engineering.

One of my friends graduated from Acharya Institute of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering, and he was considered to be the topper of the batch. He did a paid internship from Canada, which was organized by the college itself. He went to several renowned places like Bombardier’s engine manufacturing unit, etc during the internship period of 3 months. Even after such an opportunity, he failed to achieve a proper career in Aeronautics. He was a hard-working and skilled candidate but landed in a mechanical designing firm with a low-paying job.

Industry Trends:

  • In India, the market in Aeronautics is not yet established properly. Though Aeronautical Engineering is an excellent stream, one must have to be 6-7 years ahead to grasp a proper opportunity.
  • The only chances of employment for graduates in Aeronautical Engineering are the Indian Air Force, some moderately operational airline companies with a small number of maintenance staff, and finally, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
  • Candidates who have completed master’s degrees from foreign institutes or IITs in Aeronautics have a relatively higher chance of getting jobs. Companies like Boeing India, UTC, Honeywell, Airbus India, Sirkosky, Tata Strategic Defense, etc recruit such candidates.

Course Curriculum:

The curriculum followed in Aeronautical Engineering at Acharya Institute of Technology is old and not proper according to industry needs.

Therefore, although the institute provides training and internships to students in Aeronautical Engineering, there is a lack of demand for such engineers in the market and so it is not a good option.

What is the intake capacity of CSE in Sharda University?

AG
Ashmita Ghose Posted On : July 15th, 2021
CSE, Sharda University (2019)

Sharda University is a very popular and reputed university and students from all across the country apply for admission to this university. The intake capacity of CSE at Sharda University is 180 but most of the colleges including Sharda University teach CS and IT students together, so the combined intake capacity would be 300.

There are around 4-5 sections in the CS department and each section includes 50-60 students. Sharda University takes admission of around 400-500 students which is more than its intake capacity because around 30% of the students either leave the college or opt for other courses like BBA or BJMC.

Can I migrate from MAE in MAIT to EEE in MSIT?

BS
Bharti Sen Posted On : July 9th, 2021
Student at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (2018)

In engineering, the process of changing institutes in between the course is a very difficult process. The points below give a brief overview of the same, for any institute in general.

  • Usually, you can change your college before the exam of 2nd semester in engineering and it will be on basis of your marks in the 1st semester.
  • In most cases, for migrating from one college to another, you will need to pay the full fee for the college which you are leaving, along with the full general fee of the new college, as a regular candidate. This is a tremendous waste of money.

First, you should check whether you can change your branch in your college, if possible. This will be also based on your 1st-semester marks.

Is it worth taking IIITDM Jabalpur for CSE over MANIT EE?

AC
Aryaa Chatterjee Posted On : July 8th, 2021
Studied at IIIT Allahabad (2019)

One of my cousins studied at IIITDM Jabalpur. According to him and his classmates, IIITDM is growing at such a brilliant pace in terms of curriculum and placement that the fact that it is still a relatively new institute sounds unconventional to people.

  • With the pace of the growth, it can surely be said that IITDM Jabalpur has the potential to become a place of great importance at an international level.
  • CSE is a much better choice than EE due to the growth of AI, Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, and even the utility of computers in our lives. The demand has increased.
  • All of these, without a doubt, carry great importance and have managed to accommodate that in our day-to-day activities.
  • Having said that, the placement stats are also quite impressive.

Categories

CSE at IIITDM Jabalpur

EE at MANIT

Course Fee

5.59 lakh

Recruiting Companies

Amazon, Accenture, IBM, TCS, etc.

Wipro, ZS Associates, Bosch, PwC, etc.

The only negative about this particular institute is that it is significantly new in front of the rest of the institutes present in the city. Despite that, it still has great potential to become one of the best institutes in the future.

ST
Sayukta Tripathi Posted On : September 28th, 2020
Studied Civil Engineering & Physics at Sharda University (Graduated 2015)

Sharda University is well known in the education field, the department of Civil engineering in the University provides quality education as well as decent placements to the students. It is ranked 65 for private engineering by India Today 2019.

More than 30 fortune 500 companies and 150 MNCs visit Sharda University. The placement cell at the University offers the On-Campus as well as Off-Campus recruitment opportunities.

  • Students of this program are placed in companies with an average annual package of 3.51 LPA.

  • However, the percentage of core placement for B.tech civil engineering in 2018 and 2019 was not more than 10 percent. About only 5 students out of 62 got placed in core companies from the department in the last years.

  • The highest salary package offered is 4.2 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA.

There was only one core-sector company that visited for campus placements for the civil engineering department. The companies visiting for campus placements such as Tech Mahindra, Videocon, TCS, Wipro, etc. are mostly from another sector and do not offer jobs to the students in the core civil field.

Which is the best engineering college in Hyderabad among Guru Nanak, Vardhaman, BV Raju, VNR, and Malla Reddy?

RK
Ragini Khanna Posted On : November 10th, 2022
Studied at Malla Reddy Engineering College

Every college is excellent and ineffective in its way. Similarly, these colleges have their advantages.

  • Malla Reddy is the best choice for placements.

  • Guru Nanak is the best choice for a college with excellent faculty, infrastructure, and hostel facilities.

  • Vardhaman, BV Raju is ideal for college architecture and development.

  • VNR is ideal for colleges with stringent rules and regulations.

It's not about the college when it comes to engineering; it's about how you learn and how much effort you put in. Colleges only teach you 10% of what you need to know; the other 90% must be learned outside of the classroom and through hard work. Any college will suffice if you have a strong interest in your program and are serious about pursuing a career in engineering.
