For CSE, SRM is the better option. The academics, campus life, and facilities offered are good. Major recruiting companies such as Amazon, Honda, Cognizant, etc. recruit through the campus drive. SRM placements in 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 1 CPA. The institute offers decent exposure. The networking opportunities are ample. Here is an honest review of the SRM University
Computer Science at KJ Somaiya is one of the most in-demand branches. So you will see that the cut-off marks are definitely a bit higher than other branches. There are a few vacancy rounds conducted after CAP rounds to fill the remaining seats. You can expect the cutoff to drop then by a little bit.
The CS minority round placements (CAP rounds) end at the MHCET score of 150 at least. You can expect these to drop to about 135 to 140 later but the overall scenario is almost the same every year.
You can look for the vacancy round forms on the college website and you can keep checking for them from time to time.
According to my friends at DAIICT, it is definitely a better choice among the two. Considering factors like placement, brand reputation, and coding culture.
The points below give a brief overview of some of the advantages of choosing DAIICT over SVNIT.

Therefore, it is clear that DAIICT is a much better choice, especially in subjects like CS and IT. In DAIICT, there is a high exposure in higher studies among students. There is a good environment for competitive coding too in DAIICT. In every notable coding contest from platforms like Codeforces, Codechef, etc, there are at least 30-40 participants from DAIICT.
NIT Surathkal B.Tech in CSE is definitely a better choice because it's one of the oldest institutes with a rich legacy. The department has lots of establishments in academics as well as industry. There are several well-established student activity bodies and an elaborate alumni base with a coding background.
I am strongly against you joining an integrated program at the bachelor's level because you first need to know the exact domain you are interested in. If you realize that you have taken the wrong branch then spending 5 years will become very difficult. BTech gives you enough time and opportunities to analyze what your interests are you can not decide, after 3-4 semesters, you will be able to judge yourself overall. Also, a B.Tech in CSE from NIT Karnataka with a good GRE score may help you get admission offers of MS abroad.
So go for NIT Surathkal BTech in CSE without any second thoughts.
Like most of the engineering colleges in India, being in the CSE branch can get you better placements as compared to other core branches at SVNIT Surat. My friend is pursuing his B.Tech in CSE final year from SVNIT Surat and he’s currently preparing for his campus placement.
From the past couple of years, the placement record has been quite good with well-reputed companies visiting the campus. These companies include Amazon, Microsoft, Endurance, DeShaw, Oracle., etc.

Overall, you can enjoy pretty good placements at SVNIT Surat, and as aforementioned, belonging to the CSE branch has the highest probability of grabbing excellent packages.
I am assuming that you have no specific branch preferences and are just confused between the institutes. In that case, the factors affecting your decision are campus life, facilities, infrastructure, and placements. Consider the table below

The fee for management quota seats depends on the branch one opts for. As CSE is the most sought after branch, its fee is higher than the others.
The fee ranges from 12-22 Lakhs for B.Tech management quota seats, at MIT Pune. For CSE, it is on the higher end of this range. At VIT Pune, the fee ranges from 8-20 Lakhs. Again, it is on the higher end for B.Tech CSE.
These figures aren’t fixed, they are based on factors such as market demand and inflation rates. Thus, I recommend you confirm the fee structure with the admissions department of both these colleges.

I am a resident of Surat, and SVNIT is very close to my house. During my college admissions, I was in the same dilemma. So I spent about a week at both the colleges to make a more informed choice.
One of the professors at SVNIT suggested that I opt for B.Tech ICT at DAIICT over Computer Engineering at SVNIT. He told me that DAIICT is a better option for computer related branches. Here are some pros of joining DAIICT as a B.Tech ICT student-
Thus, a B.Tech ICT at DAIICT is better in comparison to Computer Engineering at SVNIT.
I have cousins from both NIT Goa, and Jamia Millia Islamia and as they mention, the latter is famous for its CSE course. Usually, students do not leave the opportunity to go for the CSE course of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Categories | ECE at NIT Goa | CSE at Jamia Millia Islamia |
Course Fee | 5.38 lakh | 64,600 |
Highest CTC | 13 LPA | 20 LPA |
Average CTC | 6.5 LPA | 8-10 LPA |

Apart from these few, it depends upon how hard you work. Be it ECE or CSE, you have to work hard and utilize the time and opportunities you get while studying in college.
