Does XLRI have different cutoffs for males and females?
One of my friends is a student of XLRI. It is a very famous business school which is located in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. They offer various management programs like HR, BM, Analytics, PGDM etc.
- They conducted their own entrance exam XAT which you will need to clear in order to get admission to this college.
- To be eligible for admission you will have to score at least 96 percentile in the XAT exam.
- The competition is very high. The sectional cut-off marks for males and females are different but the overall percentile cut-off is the same.

Which is better college out of the two, TISS vs XLRI?
XLRI will be a better option among these. It is a true-blue B-school. Their HRM program is the best in the country. If you are interested in HRM, XLRI is the best option. Placements and exposure offered in this field are unparalleled. XLRI HRM average package is around INR 23-25 LPA.
TISS is a Social Sciences School. It follows a research-oriented, field-study-based curriculum.
Both of these institutes have a good placement record and offer decent ROI.
What is the acceptance rate for a 1 year, full time MBA or PGDM (GM) at XLRI, Jamshedpur?
XLRI Jamshedpur offers a full-time one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management (General Management) program, commonly referred to as PGDM (GM).
XLRI does not officially disclose the acceptance rate for its one-year MBA or PGDM (GM) program. However, based on previous years' data, it is estimated that the acceptance rate for the one-year MBA program at XLRI is approximately 5-10%.
How can a B.A. graduate (English language and literature) get admission in IIMs or XLRI?
Basically, for IIMs you need to appear for the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam which is the national level entrance exam conducted all over India.
- Usually, the dates with the entire notification regarding CAT release in the last week of August and the exam takes place normally in the last week of November or the first week of December.
- After the announcement of results in January, if you qualify for the cut-off score, you get a call from the IIMs for further group discussion and personal interviews.
- To get into XLRI, you need to appear for XAT by qualifying which means you can get admission in any of the XLRI among 11 institutes.
- This exam is usually conducted in January for getting admission in the institutes.
- Now coming to the preparations, if you are confused regarding the syllabus or from which portion you should start preparing, firstly carry out the research regarding the syllabus and go ahead with your preparation.
