Government colleges in India are preferred by students because of their reputation and how easy it is on the pocket as compared to private colleges for engineering. The fee structure at GEC Manipuri for BTech programs rounds off to 1.05 lakh whereas the same course at NIET will cost somewhere between 1.85 to 3.5 lakhs.
Apart from that, NIET is known to offer funding and scholarships to students in order to help them with their tuition fees. It also facilitates summer internships for the top 3 students with an outstanding academic record. GEC Mainpuri on the other hand does not offer any grants or scholarships and students are required to pay their full tuition amount.
Let us have a look at the facilities provided by both the colleges:
Both the colleges offer a detailed and well-structured program in terms of the curriculum but differ in their teaching approach, campus facilities, placements, student demographics, and rankings. Keeping the above-given factors in mind, students can make their choice based on their requirements and preferences.
Both SIBM Bangalore and Great Lakes Chennai are equally good when it comes to fees, faculty, and Return Of Investment (ROI).
Though, SIBM Bangalore is the better choice due to the greater number of companies visiting the campus during placement.
The table below gives a brief overview of the two institutes.

The choice of the institute for pursuing an MTech in Electrical Engineering depends on what you want from your Masters.
Ultimately, the better institute is a matter of preferences and career prospects.
There is no clear winner in this comparison. If you are interested in Mining Engineering and want to learn fundamental and core technicalities, then NIT Surathkal will be better. As an institute, NITK is better than other engineering colleges in Karnataka. It offers better academics, exposure, facilities, and campus life. For Mining, NIT Surtahkal placements are great. Coal India visits NITK for recruiting students. The average CTC received by the students of this bench is INR 5-6 LPA.
But if you aren’t particularly interested in Mining Engineering, then you should choose CSE at PES University. In the current industry landscape, CSE offers better placements with cushy salary packages.
The question is highly subjective. Both FMS and XLRI are the leading institutions for management studies. Any student who gets an admission offer from any or both institutions should be proud of themself.
The qualifying exam for MBA at FMS New Delhi is CAT. The CAT cutoff 2022 for the FMS MBA program was 98 percentile (general category).
The qualifying exam for XLRI PGDHRM, PGDBM, and PGDM courses is XAT. The XAT 2022 cutoff was 92 percentile.
There is a provision for reservation at FMS according to the rules set by the University of Delhi. However, XLRI is a private institution and therefore, has no provision for reservation.
For the HR domain, XLRI is the best business school in India. FMS is famous for its Marketing and is best known as the Marketing Campus of the country. FMS is a good choice for Finance as well. In fact, for specializations other than HR, FMS stands at a higher position.
You should also consider the location, infrastructure, and campus of the two before making your choice. Location-wise FMS is situated in New Delhi and thus might be more attractive to many.
XLRI is the oldest business school in India (founded-1949), and FMS is the third oldest (founded-1954). For a PGDBM in HR, go for XLRI. The fees, however, at XLRI are much higher than at FMS.FMS fees are very affordable. In terms of ROI, FMS is in a better position.
You can Check the course fee for various management courses at XLRI. Also, Check the course fee for FMS New Delhi.
You can thus make your choice based on your goals. Getting into XLRI is easier for a general-category student. Overall, whichever institution you end up in will groom you into an expert in your field.
I always find comparing two branches very illogical because the entire purpose of branches is to cater to the interests of different people. One stream might be good for you but not for the other and vice versa.
An electrical engineer works with impressive technologies like microprocessors or communication systems. A computer engineer on the other hand achieves great things through his computer. It’s better to read about machine learning classification.
Some students prefer judging colleges on the basis of the kind of environment they offer. Both IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati have a great academic environment and offer excellent exposure. Both the colleges are good in all aspects like placements, location, and academics. Don’t follow the trends and standards set by society and follow what your heart says!
One of my friends is a student of IIIT Delhi and he has visited IIIT Allahabad on a few occasions. Here is his insight about both the institute.
IIIT Allahabad:
IIIT Allahabad has witnessed a severe leadership change in the last few years. It had difficulties in retaining their faculties. A lot of students complaining about the previous Director, lack of faculty, hostels. The new Director is working to improve things, but it will require time.
There were a lot of negative stories about the place in the media in the past, but none of them seemed to have made an impact on admission. students recruitment. The institute has always attracted top JEE rankers.
IIIT Delhi:
On the other hand, IIIT Delhi has not only attracted top faculty but ensured their retention. The environment on campus is quite good. Both students and faculty seemed to be happier compared to IIIT Allahabad.
The table shows a brief overview of the institutions.

IIIT Delhi |
IIIT Allahabad |

Rs. 20 lakhs |

Overall, IIIT Delhi offers a much pleasant campus experience as compared to IIIT Allahabad. However, despite the negative publicity, IIIT Allahabad is quite reputed and attracts top JEE rankers, so, will have a great peer group. And if you genuinely want to learn, you can do that from IIIT Allahabad.
I am a student of NIT Raipur. Unlike before, the state of infrastructure and facilities has tremendously improved in my college. I don’t know much about IIIT Naya Raipur, but I can definitely enlighten you about the state of NIT Raipur-
Thus, NIT Raipur has made tremendous improvements in every parameter. You can definitely consider this college for your engineering studies.
For a masters degree in Environmental Science Central University of Punjab (CUPB) will be a better option. The research works conducted there are really good.
The department has good motivated students and a highly experienced faculty. Even the lab facilities are good enough for education purposes. In Central University Punjab there is one more term added to the course, that is technology.
Categories | CUPB | CURAJ |
Course Fee | INR 5040 | INR 12,989 |
Average CTC | 3 LPA | 3-4 LPA |
Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) is also a good place for Environmental Science studies but overall CUPB is better than CURAJ.
