Does IIM Indore have a hard time getting everyone placed?

GR
Gargi Roy Posted On : August 26th, 2021
MBA, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2018)

It’s not entirely true that IIM Indore has a hard time getting everyone placed. Yes, it does take longer to wrap up the placement as compared to other reputed B-Schools like SP Jain, NITIE, IIMK, etc.

One of my friends recently graduated from IIM Indore and according to her, the final placements for 2020, took nearly 2 months to complete. While the other B-Schools wrapped up placements in 1 to 1.5 weeks. This delay in placement has nothing to do with the quality of education at the institute. It is due to the large batch size.

But at IIM Indore almost every student gets placed in a decent job. It doesn't guarantee you that the job or the salary will satisfy you. You will have to work even harder and polish your skills more to secure your dream job.

Should I prefer NIT Surat CS or BITS Goa EEE or CS?

AP
Akshay Prajapati Posted On : March 21st, 2023
Studied at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus

There are several reasons why BITS Pilani Goa Campus CS is considered better than NIT Surat CS. Here are some of the main reasons:

  • Better Infrastructure: BITS Pilani Goa Campus has a world-class infrastructure with modern facilities and amenities that provide students with a comfortable and conducive learning environment. On the other hand, NIT Surat's infrastructure, though decent, is not as advanced as that of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • Better Alumni Network: BITS Pilani Goa Campus has a vast and active alumni network that provides students with excellent networking opportunities and career guidance. NIT Surat's alumni network, while present, is not as well-established or connected as that of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • Better Tag: BITS Pilani Goa Campus is a highly reputed and well-known institution in India and around the world. It is recognized for its academic excellence and has a strong brand value. In comparison, NIT Surat is not as well-known or recognized as BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • Better Teachers: BITS Pilani Goa Campus has some of the best faculty members in the country who are highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated to teaching. NIT Surat's faculty, while competent, is not as well-regarded as that of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • Better Coding Culture: BITS Pilani Goa Campus has a strong coding culture, with numerous coding clubs, events, and hackathons that encourage students to develop their coding skills and innovate. NIT Surat, while also promoting coding, does not have as vibrant a coding culture as that of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • No Ragging: BITS Pilani Goa Campus has a strict anti-ragging policy, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all students. In contrast, NIT Surat has had some cases of ragging in the past.
  • Better Co-Curriculars and Extra-Curriculars: BITS Pilani Goa Campus offers a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including sports, cultural events, and technical clubs. NIT Surat also offers such activities, but the range and quality of these activities are not as good as those offered by BITS Pilani Goa Campus.
  • Better All-Round Development: BITS Pilani Goa Campus focuses on the overall development of students, with a holistic approach that emphasizes academic, personal, and professional growth. NIT Surat also aims for this, but the approach and emphasis are not as comprehensive as that of BITS Pilani Goa Campus.

Overall, while NIT Surat is a good institution, BITS Pilani Goa Campus CS is considered a better option due to its superior infrastructure, faculty, alumni network, coding culture, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and overall focus on student development.

How good are the placements and packages for electronics and instrumentation in BITS Pilani?

A
Admin Posted On : May 14th, 2024
  • When it comes to the BITS Pilani campus, the scope of getting placed at top companies is huge. First, let me tell you about the placement process that is followed by BITS Pilani.
  • The placements are divided into two semesters for all three campuses. You will have to choose which semester you want to sit for placements by the end of the third year.
  • Normally, students who sit for the first semester have a CGPA above 8 and those who sit for the second semester have a CGPA in the range of 6 to 8.
  • Mostly, those who have less than 8 CGPA do not get to sit for placements in the first semester. The job offers from the recruiters are good. About 15-20 companies visit the college for both semesters.
  • However, your opportunities are better if you get to sit for the first semester. So, try to maintain a CGPA above 8.

What is the procedure of branch change in IET DAVV Indore?

SS
Sukanya Saha Posted On : March 9th, 2021
B.E Computer Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV (2019)

The procedure to change your branch varies depending on which year you are currently in. Check the procedures below:

First year

  • When two rounds of DTE counselling are over, some seats still remain vacant. After 4-5 days of commencement of classes, internal branch sliding is held.
  • You just have to check their website regularly for notification regarding branch change. Then you have to fill a simple form. Usually, during this sliding, many IT and EC students shift to CS, EI and Civil students shift to IT and EC and so on. After all the shifts, some seats still remain vacant in EI, Civil etc. which are then filled by CLC.
  • For internal branch slide, you have to go to the help centre (SGSITS) on a prescribed date and follow a simple procedure which they will tell you.

It must be noted that if you have got a seat under the tuition fee waiver (TFW) scheme then you can't change the branch you are allotted.

Second/third year:

  • In this case too, you must check their website for the Branch Transfer or College Transfer notification which comes every year around 20 July.
  • This is done to fill the remaining vacant seats of the second and third year.

Your branch change totally depends on the vacancy of seats in the branch you want to go for. Generally, some reserved category seats which are remaining vacant get filled at this time because usually all unreserved category seats are already filled after the first year. So, it all depends on your luck!

How can I manage to pay the fees at BITS Pilani without burdening my parents?

PS
Prateek Sharma Posted On : July 3rd, 2023
studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

If BITS Pilani is your dream school but your financial background is not letting you join it, rest assured. BITS Pilani has provisions for 2 kinds of scholarships.

  • Merit cum need: This scholarship is based on your grades as well as family income. You can get a 60-80% fee concession depending on your grades.
  • Merit scholarship: This scholarship is solely based on merit.

Additionally, many banks offer educational loans at low-interest rates at BITS Pilani. You just have to show your BITS ID card as security and loan repayment time is long enough (minimum 4-6 years). On average, you can repay this loan within 2-3 months and thus it’s the best way out.

What are the actual fees of Heritage Institute of Technology?

PM
Pratyasha Mishra Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

The fee structure for B.Tech students of Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata is given below for your reference.

  • Tuition fee (per semester) – INR 44,000 (1st and 2nd semester), INR 45,100 (3rd and 4th semester), INR 46,200 (5th and 6th semester), and INR 47,300 (7th and 8th semester)
  • Admission fee (one-time fee) – INR 5,000
  • Library fee (one-time fee) – INR 6,000
  • Students’ welfare and sports & games fee (one-time fee) – INR 4,000
  • Caution deposit (one-time fee and refundable) – INR 10,000
  • University students’ development fee (INR 500 paid yearly to MAKAUT) – INR 2,200 (one-time fee)
  • Admission kit (one-time fee) – INR 1,000

Thus the total fee amounts to INR 72,200 when you take admission. Since you would have paid INR 20,000 during counseling, you need to pay an additional amount of INR 52,200 after taking the admission. There is a tuition fee waiver scheme implemented by the college according to which you need not pay the tuition fee. In that case, the fee is INR 28,200 and thus you will need to pay only INR 8,200 after taking admission.

The hostel fee is an additional INR 4,500 per month including the mess if you want to take this facility.
