M.Tech Mechanical is a preferred stream but its success is directly proportional to the level of placements offered by colleges in comparison to the fees or investment made. The number of students enrolled is less compared to B.Tech making it a less lucrative option for campus placements.

The detailed analysis is as follows.

Eligibility:

• The basic criterion stands at graduation with a minimum score of 50%.

• The common examination accepted is GATE.

Fees:

• NIT Surathkal has a fee structure of Rs. 1.85 Lakhs

• ISM Dhanbad offers the course is Rs. 1.05 Lakhs.

ISM has fewer fees as compared to NIT Surathkal.

Placement Details:

The prime-most details to be focused upon are the average and highest placement scenario of both the colleges in general.

• 79% placements in NIT Surathkal M.Tech as opposed to 50% in ISM.

• Major Recruiters are Teradata, Cisco, Dell EMC, Riverbed Technology, and Huawei Technologies.

• ISM M.Tech is not preferable for mechanical, it’s a sure shot option in case of CSE or Mineral engineering.

• The only reason to prefer ISM is the IIT factor attached to it which makes it more appealing in terms of faculty and culture.

The choice can be made both on the basis of placements and college ranking with respect to the course offered. The packages offered in the Mechanical stream in NIT Surathkal are quite good as compared to those in ISM Dhanbad. NIT Surathkal also holds a reputation in the institutional list with respect to its 7th position in the list of NIT.

IGIT Sarang is one of the best government colleges in Orissa. It is also only one government college of Orissa that are eligible to submit an Institutional Development Proposal. The admission process for Electrical Engineering is based on the results of JEE Main and Orissa-JEE.

Placement Statistics

• Companies like Ananda, Bhushan Steel, Infosys, Kanbay international, Larsen and Toubro, Satyam Computers, TATA Consultancy Services, Visa Steel, etc visit the campus every year in search of good placements. 
• The average salary offered to students is 4 lakhs and the highest salary package is up to 10 lakhs. 

Class Composition 2019-20

• A total of 142 students are enrolled in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 54 students were present in M.Tech whereas 78 students enrolled in the Diploma program. 

The infrastructure of the college is really good. Classrooms are nice, the library is open to all, medical facilities and equipped labs are also available in college. Teachers are well qualified in their particular fields.

National Institute of Technology, Mizoram 90th for engineering in India by JEE Cut-off 2019. The college offers B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering as a full-time four-year course at a fee of 5.43 Lakhs for the full period.

Admission:

• The eligibility criteria for Computer Science Engineering at the institute is having passed 10+2 examinations from a recognized board in the science stream.

• The selection of candidates is based on JEE Main scores, which is followed by JoSAA counseling.

There are 30 seats available for this course.

Infrastructure:

The college is built over a massive 190-acre campus. The college is home to a huge library which has over 7000 educational books and various other e-resources.

Faculty & Curriculum:

Nearly every teacher at the institute is a Ph.D. holder. Trainee teachers at the college are M.Tech graduates. The course curriculum for CSE is highly relevant, with various training and seminars organized to make the students industry-ready.

Placements: The course has an impressive placement rate of 89%. Internships are provided to all students to give them better training.

• Companies such as L&T, BPCL, and IBM come for placements during the placement season.

• The average package offered for CS at the college is 6.5 LPA, with the highest package going up to a whopping 17.3 LPA.

ABV IIITM Gwalior is ranked 81 by NIRF. It is recognized by UGC and AICTE. They have a student strength of 854 students. 

MTech in VLSI is a 2 year full time postgraduate course which involves engineering aspects of designing and developing IC based systems. The course is divided into 4 semesters. 

Placement Details

• 102 students were placed with the highest salary package.
• The highest salary package overall offered was 42 LPA.
• The average salary package overall offered was 14.58 LPA.
• Students graduating with MTech in VLSI Design can work in VLSI Testing, Chip Designing, Lecturer, VLSI Design Engineer, etc. 
• The top recruiting companies include Microsoft, EY, Morgan Stanley, Google, Goldman Sachs, Reliance, Tata, etc.

Faculty

• There is the head of the department, with professors, associate professor, and assistant professors. 
• A total of more than 36 full-time faculty members and 6 are adjunct faculty members. 
• Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders and experts in the field.

Students will require 75% in their 10+2 qualifying exam and 60% in their BTech or BE exam to be eligible for admission at ABV IIITM Gwalior for the MTech program in VLSI Design. Final selection will be based on GATE scores.

As per the MHRD norms, the students are offered stipends within the range of INR 7000-13000. Approximately, this year a total of 18% students received Pre-placement offers from various companies. The list includes Cartesian Consulting, Toppr, Goldsman Sach, Inmobi, Myntra, Leap & Scale, BNY Mellon, Qubole Software, and Goibibo.
