What are the “year-back” criteria in AKTU?

AK
Anjani Kumar Posted On : November 7th, 2022
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University (Graduated 2019)

At AKTU, the year-back criteria are pretty simple. You are likely to get a year back in any of the following situations:

  • If in a single year, you have back 6 subjects

  • If you score below 30 in 6 subjects in a year

  • If you fail any practical exam

  • If you do not appear for a practical exam

  • If you are accused of UFM or unfair means like cheating to pass an exam

Any of the above situations will result in a year back. Try to avoid this as much as possible because it will become very hectic for you.

Admin Posted On : May 16th, 2024

According to me, Christ University is the best option. Being a student of this university, I would like to say that Christ has fulfilled all the expectations that I had. At Christ, you will get an overview of the various aspects of business management. This two-year degree will help you to be knowledgeable about accountancy, finance and commerce. You will learn how business operates in the real world. Our university has some of the best faculty who continuously guide you throughout the course. Also, be prepared to solve lots of case studies. Study hard and try to gain practical knowledge as you will be tested rigorously during the midterms. The campus life is awesome at Christ. There is always some fest going on the campus and you can join any of the multiple clubs that are present or create a club of your own.

Which is the best coaching institute for IITJEE in Indore(MP)?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : June 17th, 2023

The best coaching institute for IIT JEE in Indore MP is Kalpavriksha.

My sister opted for the PCM stream in class 11th and started looking for good coaching she came across a few popular ones like Rankers Point and Catalyser. Kalpavriksha was a little less popular yet, after listening to their schedule, she was convinced to join it. They have a crazy schedule and make the students stay from the morning till night.

  • The batches are divided on the basis of the student's performance in the entrance exam. The classes are the same for every batch with differences in the duration of classes only.
  • The main figure, Vijit Sir designs the schedule for individual students and sees to it that everyone follows it.
  • A typical day schedule comprises lecture timings, self-study, booklet solving, lecture notes reading, tests, and their analysis.
  • Tests are conducted daily and sometimes there are 3-4 tests in a single day that improves the students' performance tenfold.
  • The personal attention given to students here is excellent and even a minor degrade in performance is looked at.
  • The tough schedule at Kalpavriksha makes the students give up on all distractions and installs a sense of discipline.

My sister followed everything told and worked hard. She managed to get an excellent rank of 305/360 in JEE Mains, AIR 220 in JEE Advanced and 438/450 in BITSAT on the first attempt itself. She gave all the credit to Kalpavriksha!

Is it worthless doing a bachelor's in engineering from UIT-RGPV?

SD
Sachin Dixit Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Bachelor of Engineering from University Institute of Technology, RGPV

No, this is not true. UIT RGPV has an excellent atmosphere. Following are some tips for you to know beforehand:

  • Academics have nothing to do with the institution. The so-called pointer will not matter to corporates unless it is too low or high to believe.
  • Although, UIT RGPV does not focus on skill development because of the curriculum, syllabus, and schemes. Labs are not functional in some subjects.
  • The culture at the campus is diverse with students coming from all over the country.
  • UIT RGPV has a campus with 250 acres surrounded by a hill, and most of it is covered by natural vegetation, much like any other college’s access to all required facilities for everyone.
  • It also has a training placement cell and also an entrepreneurship development cell.
  • Some of the alumni have made it to the top 10 in the GATE exam and UPSC.
  • There are no attendance problems so you can divide your time wisely.

Good luck, I hope you have a lifetime experience at UIT.

Why is IIM Calcutta not so talked-about as IIMA or IIMB?

DG
Deepak Gupta Posted On : November 24th, 2022
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (Graduated 2017)

I think IIM Calcutta is not as recognized or talked about as IIMA or IIMB because it did not gain fame from Bollywood. Bollywood movies have been shot at IIMA and IIMB. So they are more talked about than IIMC. It has nothing to do with its own facilities. That being said, some amazing features of IIM Calcutta are

  1. Top notch alumni base

  2. Beautiful campus: The campus of IIM Bangalore is not an average one. Its beautiful infrastructure and location give it a surreal ambiance.

  3. Amazing Placements: IIM Calcutta is the best for finance placements. Reputed banks like Merrill, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan and Chase, Goldman Sachs prefer students of IIM Calcutta over IIMA and IIMB. For consulting IIM Calcutta has all the top 4 Mckinsey, Bain, BCG and AT Kearney.

So nothing about IIM Calcutta is less than other IIMs. It just lacks the general fame, not the works.

Studies CSE at Vellore Institute of Technology 2022

One of my cousins similarly wanted to secure a seat at IET Lucknow in the 2nd year itself. He mentions that for indeed taking admission in IET Lucknow in the 2nd year, you have to first complete your diploma, and following that, during the 3rd year, you are required to sit for the UPSEE LEET examination.

Depending on the basics of the score you attained in LEET, you can further go on to securing admission at IET Lucknow via lateral entry.

Here is a detailed outlook of the cut off followed by IET Lucknow both in the 2019 and 2020:

Round 2019 Cut Off 2020 Cut Off
1 192 17624
2 192 23102
3 233 23102
4 242 23102
5 - 23102

Other than that, you should also have a good CGPA, somewhat ranging from 9.0 to above, to obtain a seat otherwise.

VK
Vishal Kumar Posted On : November 15th, 2022
BSc from Banaras Hindu University

The BSc (Maths) entrance exam is BHU is one of the easiest exams. You can score fairly good marks by just going through your 12th-grade Maths, Physics, and Chemistry books. Study Chemistry from NCERT book. A thorough study of the following chapters will get you good marks:

  • Biomolecule

  • Polymer

  • Animes

  • Chemistry in everyday life

The questions in the entrance exam are mostly based on direct concepts or formulas.

As far as the number of marks necessary is concerned, there is no fixed digit. But at least attempt 70 questions without mistakes. This means you need to score at least 210 marks out of 450. However, this number keeps changing based on the pattern of the question paper.

What are the disadvantages of studying in AIIMS Delhi, if any?

OR
Ojas Reddy Posted On : May 30th, 2023
Studies at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (2024)

A few advantages my friend who was a PG student at AIIMS experienced are

  • Minimum exposure to common diseases: AIIMS has very few common cases as it tries not to admit patients with common illnesses and focuses more on rare diseases. This causes very less exposure to common illnesses to PG students of AIIMS.
  • Less Free Hand: AIIMS is an SR-based hospital with super specialization in each branch. This leads to relatively less free hand.
  • Work pressure: The working environment of AIIMS Delhi is very tiresome and challenging.
  • Thesis: Students of AIIMS have to publish a genuine thesis as AIIMS focuses largely on research work. This can sometimes be very challenging.
  • Medical Representative culture:  AIIMS does not have the MR culture where you are treated as a royal and even are allowed to party weekly. AIIMS is very demanding and a North Indian MBBS student might feel disappointed here.

These disadvantages are based on personal opinions and are not specific to the institute. So it’s better to investigate before joining.
