Is BITS Pilani really a good institute?

NS
Navneet Singh Posted On : July 3rd, 2023
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

A good institute is a very generic term. Everyone has their own criteria for a ‘good institute’. In my opinion, a good institute is one that offers an excellent college life experience combined with a top-notch education.

BITS Pilani has a poor NIRD Rank because NIRF focuses on research and the location of the institute while evaluating this, 2 factors that BITS Pilani fails miserably in. However, if you look at other rankings, BITS Pilani scores pretty well.

  • India Today: BITS Pilani B.Tech ranking by India Today is 7 out of 10 colleges in India in 2022
  • The Week: BITS Pilani Overall ranking by The Week is 5 out of 34 colleges in India in 2021.
  • IIRF: BITS Pilani B.Tech ranking by IIRF is 1 out of 173 colleges in India in 2022.

Additionally, BITS Pilani has excellent infrastructure and hostel facilities. It also organizes 3 major and several minor fests. Oasis is the second-largest cultural fest after IIT Bombay Mood Indigo. Considering all this, I think BITS Pilani is certainly a good institute.

How is chandigarh university for btech cse?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : March 31st, 2023
Lived in Chandigarh, India

I am here to give you a very honest opinion based on my brother's experience at Chandigarh University. The university does everything but imparts good quality education and is more like a money-making machine. The points below will clarify my point further

  • The faculty pool comprises ignorant professors who are just Master graduates from CU itself. All their lectures are copy paste material and the classes are extremely monotonous with no dynamic or practical approach at all. These professors have no area of expertise and teach different subjects in different semesters
  • There are illogical restrictions and very tight schedules. You don’t get to roam even after classes are over and if you don’t reach the block by 9 30 am, you will find it closed.
  • The syllabus is exhaustive and chaotic comprising so many irrelevant theoretical subjects making students rote learners with minimal understanding of concepts
  • No additional skills like coding, data analysis, and programming are taught. Everything is taught with a theoretical approach with no hands on experience.
  • A huge number of assignments and projects are assigned meant to be completed within a week leaving no time for additional activities or studies.
  • There are attendance policies requiring you to maintain 75% attendance with strict reprimands like debarring
  • The college is not exactly located in Chandigarh but in the outskirts in a village area with no transport facilities.
  • The hostel and mess facilities are appalling

No doubt, the college has a lot of companies coming for placements but the scenario for that isn’t very different. So, I will recommend you to go for any other engineering college after proper research.

How can I get Osmania University transcripts?

SS
Shivam Saxena Posted On : September 24th, 2021
Studied Certified Public Accountants at AICPA

From Nov 1, 2017, the process has changed to get the transcripts or memos from Osmania University. Here is the whole process in brief.

  • Go to this website.
  • Select the Examination branch.
  • Choose the online services tab – Apply for certificates online. Osmania University is a link.
  • You must first register with a mobile number, Aadhaar number, and date of birth.
  • Once you've registered, an SMS with a password will be sent to your phone.
  • After you provide your date of birth, the website immediately reflects all of the various courses you have completed once you log in. However, new ones can be added.
  • Choose which transcripts you want to request. The file size should be as small as possible, no larger than 100 KB, and only JPEG files are accepted.
  • You must upload the required documents online and pay Rs 1100 or Rs 1600 for the expedited process for the consolidated memo.
  • Individual memo prices vary.
  • However, the expedited procedure does not work. It displays an error message.
  • Only Indian credit or debit cards are accepted. Not all banks are available for electronic transactions.

I hope this clears your doubts.

Is it worth applying for Bank Of Baroda’s Manipal University program?

Vihaan Sharma Posted On : November 10th, 2022
Probationary officer at Bank of Baroda Clerk Salary and Perks Latest

If you are under the age of 25, it is not recommended that you join any bank through the Manipal program. If you passed the BoB exam this year, you will undoubtedly pass the IBPS or SBI exams next year with a little more extra effort. Join only if you believe you passed this exam by chance and will be unable to pass IBPS in the future, or if you are approaching the 27-28 mark and still do not have a job.

Accounts, Basics of Banking, Basics of Lending, and Retail Banking are the four main subjects covered in their course. According to the modules they have organized for the students, the others are a waste of time.

The water provided to all students is simply recycled filtered water with no proper water treatment. Many people are developing chronic diseases, and for a time, drinking water was contaminated, causing many students to contract typhoid; however, drinking water has been brought under control; however, bathroom water remains contaminated.

B.Tech from Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, NMIMS (2024)

One of my friends studied at NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management (MPSTME). According to him, there are some things you have to know before enrolling:

  • MPSTME has a very rigorous curriculum.
  • The classes are conducted 6 days a week, for about 6 hours a day.
  • You will have to maintain a 80% attendance to be able to sit for the examinations.
  • 100% attendance is required for tutorial and lab sessions.
  • 2 assignments per subject is given to the students every academic year.
  • The teachers conduct regular viva sessions also.
  • Students are also required to opt for co-curricular activities as well.
  • There are clubs and committees like Cultural, Technical, Social, Sports, Social Impact, Colloquium, etc. which they can be a part of.

Therefore, the overall atmosphere is very competitive. If you are studious enough you will be able to manage otherwise you will lag behind.

I missed my IGNOU assignment dates and the exams for the last session. Can I appear for the next session without reapplying?

AR
Amrita Rathod Posted On : October 17th, 2022
Studied at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

You will receive the study material once you have enrolled in the year (first, second, or any as per the course) with the list of subjects. You are already aware of this.

IGNOU accepts assignments twice a year, which is required to take the course exam that session. Once in May and once in September. For the assignment, the exams are in June-July and December, respectively.

Every set of assignments for any subject (check the title page of the pdf file) is valid for one year. If you missed the exams in May, you can retake them in December if you submitted the same set in September.

If you missed the December exam as well, you must complete and submit a new set of assignments. Every new year, a new set is released; it is up to you to decide when he or she can take the exams and thus fill out the exam form after submitting the assignments on time. Please refer to the assignment title page to double-check the dates for that specific year.

What is your motivation for applying to IIT Gandhinagar?

AS
Anisha Srivastav Posted On : March 30th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN)

I don’t know what or who convinced you to go for IIT Gandhinagar, but if it’s not too late please reconsider your decision. Here are some points that will help you understand my strong aversion to IIT Gandhinagar.

  • The hostel fees are extremely high around 27-30k/- semester. Additionally, they charge you more if you are staying in the hostel during vacations.
  • There are no laundry facilities available in the hostel
  • The rooms towards the interior are in pathetic condition
  • The labs are very small and have substandard equipment
  • They force you to attend the orientation program. Those who don’t suffer a lot and are deprived of Scholarships and you will be asked to do it again the following year
  • The Management system is extremely poor and lethargic.

Irrespective of these points, the short video below might convince you to join IIT Gandhinagar

So, I will advise you to go for IIT Gandhinagar only if it’s the last option available.
