MNNIT Allahabad has a plethora of social, technical and cultural clubs/societies. All of them are equally good at what they do, and each specializes in its own field.

These clubs/societies are-

  1. The Dance Clubs- Inaugural (Kathak), Western Dance Club, Garba Dance Club, Marathi Dance Club, Bengali Dance Club, Bhangra Club and Puppet Dance Club.
  2. The Arts Society- The most hardworking society of MNNIT.
  3. Footprints Club
  4. Media House of MNNIT (MHM)- They cover each and every college event.
  5. The Music Club
  6. NCC
  7. The Green Club- MNNIT is the only NIT with an official Green Club. This club is the most unique, and it conducts the most value-laden events. In a way, it is the best club currently active in our college. The Honourable Former President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind inaugurated this club .
  8. The Literary Club
  9. The Robotics Club
  10. Alchemy (The Dramatics Society)
  11. SAE (Society of Automobile Engineers)

  13. E-Cell, MNNIT (Entrepreneurship cell)
  14. Rotaract Club
  15. Enactus MNNIT Allahabad

These are all the major clubs and societies at MNNIT Allahabad that I could think of. The most important fests of MNNIT are- ‘SWAGAT’ ( the Freshers’ ), ‘AVISHKAR’ ( the Annual Techno-management Fest), and ‘CULRAV’ (the Annual Cultural Fest).

The reason for joining is that you’ll learn something new, and form good connections with your seniors and peers. These clubs and societies are the best way to socialize and polish your skills. They enhance your management skills as well.

You can join any of the clubs/societies at MNNIT Allahabad.

I am a B.Tech first year CSE student from NIT Warangal. What are the best ways to utilise my summer holidays?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : August 19th, 2023

My friend is a third-year CSE student at NIT Warangal. These are his tips to enhance your programming skills during your summer holidays-

  1. Coursera is a big help for freshers in any field.
  2. Do not learn numerous programming languages . It is futile to learn so many syntaxes and programming languages unless you know how to use them.
  3. Start competitive programming . Competitive programming is an excellent way to polish your programming skills. It is also a great exercise to set your logic in motion. For now, spend time on Codechef/ Topcoder/ Codeforces. For a fresher, Codechef is the best platform. Get into competitive programming before the start of your second year. This will also help you tremendously for the Data Structures & Algorithms course in your second year.
  4. Internships are easy to grab with the right skills and knowledge. So don’t worry about internships for now.
  5. You can start open-source contribution later on, if interested. But don’t do it just to be called an “open-source programmer/ contributor”.
  6. Use the internet as much as possible to enhance your knowledge and skills.

These tips are useful for CSE freshers from all colleges and universities, and not just NIT Warangal.

Where do private universities (LPU, AMITY or SHARDA) fail compared to IIT or IIM even though they provide all facilities and also claim to have the top foreign faculties?

SB
Shreya Bose Posted On : May 27th, 2021
B. Tech Computer Science, Sharda University (2018)

Having foreign faculties or providing world-class facilities is not the only thing necessary to reach the level of IITs and IIMs. There are several necessary aspects that distinguish such private institutes from elite institutes like IIT and IIM, like -

  • Students at IITs have different levels of educational qualifications.
  • Students of IITs and IIMs are confident to reach heights in their work careers. But, this passion is mostly missing in 90% students in of private colleges
  • Regular students at private institutes are satisfied with Rs. 4-5 LPA packages.
  • Students from IITs usually have excellent depth in mathematics, and in coding.
  • Students from private colleges make several mistakes in their preparation, which affect their entry into institutes like IITs. But, your hard work in college can surely make you successful.
  • Students are even placed in companies like Amazon (Rs. 16 LPA), Adobe (Rs. 8 LPA), Sandisk (Rs. 8.5 LPA), etc.
  • There are some institutes like BITS, VIT, Manipal, Dhirubhai Ambani University, etc, that are excellent institutes, having good faculties and enough resources.
  • Other than those, most private institutes in India are not in good condition.

These are some of the main reasons why such private institutes, though providing excellent infrastructure and faculty, fail to reach the levels of IITs and IIMs.

Candidates who want to pursue BCA from MSU Baroda can apply online with the required information. Eligible candidates need to appear for the entrance test conducted by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test.

Admission to the B. Com (Honors) is done on the basis of the merit of the aggregate marks secured by students in 12th (H.S.S.C.) Examination.

Is VNIT Nagpur underrated? It is never publicized much even though it's one of the top 5 NITs, if so what's the reason behind this?

KM
Kaushal Madnani Posted On : October 30th, 2023
VNIT, Graduated 2019

At present, VNIT Nagpur is not among the top NITs. As per the 2023 NIRF Engineering rankings, it stands at the 41st position. Among the NITs, it currently ranks 8th as per MHRD.

In the NIRF rankings, you’ll find that the perception score for VNIT is (and has been) very low. Currently, it is 14.88 out of 100. This indicates that the students of this college do not think very highly of it. The obsolete syllabus and unfriendly administration are the prime reasons for student dissatisfaction with VNIT.

VNIT Nagpur is not an underrated college. In fact, it needs a lot of improvement.

Should opt for CS in IIT Roorkee or Electrical in IIT Delhi?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : April 5th, 2023
Lived in Chandigarh, India

My brother is a CS student at IIT Roorkee, yet he suggests everyone should go for Electrical at IIT Delhi instead. Here are a few reasons why:

  • CS coursework is suitable only for those genuinely passionate about Computer Science as its curriculum is very demanding.
  • A few Finance giants are offering huge packages that don’t visit IIT Roorkee but visit only a few IITs like Delhi, Bombay, and Kanpur. Some of these include Tower Research, Morgan Stanley, CSFB, McKinsey, etc.
  • Roorkee lacks many urban facilities available at other IITs making it difficult for the students to explore outside campus or prepare for higher exams.
  • The CS faculty pool of IIT Roorkee is very limited with most eminent professors retiring or leaving the Institute.

All these reasons are more than enough to convince someone to choose IIT Delhi over IIT Roorkee.
