How is BITS Goa compared to BITS Pilani? Is the placement and faculty much better at Pilani? Is BITS Goa a good viable option?
When comparing BITS Pilani with BITS Goa, there are several factors that you should consider before making your decision:
- Alumni strength: Pilani has a much older and more established campus, which means it has a larger alumni network in key positions in the government and private sectors. Goa, being a newer campus, has had a head start of only 19 years compared to Pilani's 59 years.
- Student quality: Pilani has slightly smarter students than Goa, based on the difference in cutoffs between CSE + core branches in Pilani and Goa. The average difference is around 25, and for MSc branches, it's about 15-20. This points to the fact that Pilani folks are slightly smarter and more hardworking than Goa students, at least before joining the college.
- Placements: BITS Pilani has an excellent placement record, with a 31.5% increase in average salary and a 35% increase in the highest salary over the previous year. The highest salary was INR 60.75 LPA, and the average salary was INR 30.7 LPA, with 109 recruiters participating in the placement drive. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, Adobe, and Cisco are among the top recruiters. While BITS Goa also has a consistently good placement record, it is slightly behind BITS Pilani in terms of average and highest salaries.
- Faculty: BITS Pilani has a larger and more established campus with highly qualified and experienced faculty, but BITS Goa also has talented and experienced faculty.
- Infrastructure: Both campuses have good infrastructure, but BITS Pilani has a larger campus and more facilities, which can sometimes make a difference in the quality of education.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to choose BITS Pilani or BITS Goa should be based on your personal preferences and goals. While BITS Pilani may have a slight edge in terms of faculty and infrastructure, BITS Goa is also a good viable option with a good reputation.
How are the new IITs compared to BITS Pilani?
The new IITs are just continuing the legacy of the already-established old IITs and are doing little to contribute to the IIT tag. BITS on the other hand has made its name solely because of its excellence and achievements. That being said, it's completely unfair to compare new IITs with BITS Pilani.
BITS Pilani was established in 1964 whereas the new IITs were established in 2008. The huge gap portrays the difference in legacy and alumni base. BITS Pilani gives an edge to new IITs in terms of both infrastructure and academic environments. Moreover, the Practice School program guarantees you internships and thus provides better exposure which you won’t be able to get at new IITs that are taking baby steps to make opportunities available to their students.
On a final note, it’s important to remember that your college is just a stepping stone and not the sole factor that determines your career. It’s all about your dedication, hard work, and making the most of the available resources!
Which one is the best AIIMS or CMC Vellore for an MBBS?
One of my friends was in a similar dilemma. He considered the following points while making his decision
- Most AIIMS undergraduates settle in the US or pursue higher education in top colleges in India while CMC graduates prefer CMC for their higher education only.
- Students of CMC are required to do bonds in mission hospitals so their higher education gets delayed. But this instills in them a strong sense of community-oriented healthcare. They tend to work in remote places of India without any personal glory. An AIIMS student can hardly be seen doing community service.
- AIIMS graduates publish more when compared to CMC graduates.
- CMC students get better hands-on experience and hence fare better in terms of clinical and Surgical skills. Right from the second year, they start assisting postgraduates in clinical work.
- If you are a non-Christian, it will be difficult to go through the entire training without a mission hospital
Ultimately, make a choice based on your demographics, preferences, and goals in life.
How is the life of an MBBS student at AIIMS, Delhi?
Getting into AIIMS Delhi is a dream come true and it’s difficult to express the feeling in words. You are overwhelmed and feel grateful at the same time. The life of an MBBS student at AIIMS is very hectic and challenging but rewarding at the same time. AIIMS is a prestigious medical institution in India and is known for its rigorous curriculum and high standards of education.
Students are expected to study and work hard to keep up with the pace of the program, which includes both classroom learning and clinical rotations. However, students also have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources, as well as opportunities for research and professional development.
- The first month is spent in interaction wherein every student is assigned a senior that becomes their guide for the entire time. Initially, these interactions might be grilling but soon you will realize how much your confidence level boosts and your personality as a whole grows.
- Soon there is a freshers party organized by the seniors which will be the last time you will be enjoying to the core.
- Soon, it’s time for the PULSE, the annual cultural festival of AIIMS undergraduates. The campus will become active with preparations for the biggest medical cultural festival in South-East Asia. You will feel a sense of pride in organizing an event this huge in scale.
- Soon all the fun ends as you are faced with your first mid-semester exams. The students can be seen roaming around tensed and anxious, approaching seniors for every possible help.
- Soon winter hits, and the most anticipated Shimla Trip is organized marking the end of the semester.
- After the trip, you are left with a few weeks of vacation and you can visit home.
- Next, January witnesses the Students Union elections. Feb-March witnesses the election results, a kite-flying celebration of Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchami, and Saraswati Puja followed by the best Holi you will experience.
- April welcomes the INFEST, the intra-college annual fest, in which only your college mates participate.
- Lastly, you will have to sit for the first professional final exams which are followed by the month-long summer vacations marking the end of the first year.
Overall, the life of an MBBS student at AIlMS, Delhi is intense but fulfilling.
Is IIT Mandi the most beautiful IIt campus?
IIT Mandi isn’t necessarily the most beautiful IIT campus. The campus is certainly picturesque and unique. It is essentially a valley surrounded by mountains. The most unique feature of the campus is the Uhl river that flows through the campus.
Tourist places like Kullu-Manali, Prashar, and Rewalsar lakes are just a few hours drive away from the campus.
Weather at Mandi stays pleasant throughout the year. During summer temperature ranges between 25-30 degrees while during winter the minimum temptation is 0.
If you like to travel, you will love this place.
How is ISB Mohali campus compared to the Hyderabad one in terms of student quality, placements and education?
It’s hard to draw a differentiating line between the two campuses.
Peer Group:
The admission committee selects the incoming class and distributes it across the two campuses. So, you will get a similar peer group at both campuses.
Placements:
ISB Hyderabad and ISB Mohali conduct placements as a single school. Fore placements, students of one campus fly down to another. Students also don’t mention their campus on their CV. ISB Mohali placements 2022 had an average CTC of INR 34.07 LPA.
Education:
The quality of education and pedagogy are the same for both campuses. The faculties shuffle between the campuses and there are guest faculties from reputed B-Schools like MIT, Kellogg, LBS, etc.
At ISB Mohali, you will get almost the same academic experience as ISB Hyderabad.
Why is game theory part of the curriculum at XLRI Jamshedpur?
Game theory is an essential aspect of business and almost all the major B-schools have game theory as part of their curriculum. Whether it's a mandatory course or not might vary depending upon your institute.

- If your CAT score is less than 85%, then you can take admission to this institute to study management. There should be no year gap in your career then you can easily choose IILM for the management studies.
- The curriculum of MBA is comparatively old which is the reason for the fewer placement statistics. But, approximately 100 or more companies come here to offer internships and final recruitment of the students.
- Companies include Hettich, Saint Gobain, Grail Research, Dassault, KPMG, Evaluserve, E&Y, Axis, Yes Bank, Deloitte, Airtel, Bandhan Bank, Reliance Jio, and many more.

Is CSE at IIT Bombay overrated?
IIT Bombay’s rankings are a testament to its credibility and worth in the technology industry. Most JEE toppers consider IIT Bombay as their first preference. This is because IIT Bombay excels in almost all X aspects of B8 placements, faculty, or exposure.
During the placement season companies from a wide range of sectors visit the campus. However, there are some dark facts behind these placement drives. I came to know of these realities through true friends and pass outs of the institute.
One cannot deny the fact that IIT Bombay has witnessed an increase in demand due to the strong influence it has. It is sad to say but many coaching centers run by alumni of IIT Bombay promote the institute. When engineering aspirants contact the alumni for counseling and advice, most of them portray IIT Bombay as the best choice leading to a more influential decision.
What I ultimately mean is that IIT Bombay is definitely the best choice when it comes to engineering. But the fact that no other college is as good as IIT Bombay is also not true.
