Is IIT Mandi the most beautiful IIt campus?

The simple answer to this question is that “It depends”. There are currently 23 IITs each having hundreds of acres of land earmarked for their campuses. Many are not even fully operational. It is really difficult to compare any two IIT campuses based on some photographs available on the internet.

Location – 

• The campus is located in the Kamand village of Himachal Pradesh which is surrounded by mountains all around, with the Uhl river (a right-bank tributary of Beas river) flowing right through the campus. 
• Basically, the campus is situated in a valley with a mountain dividing it into two main campuses; north campus and south campus. If you are a person who loves nature, the serenity of quiet village life away from the honkers of city life you will definitely feel at home here. 
• The clean waters of the mountain river are something worth cherishing, not every campus is so fortunate to witness the beauty of a clean Himalayan river every dawn.

Weather – 

• The summertime temperature reaches 25 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius while the temperature during winters drops down to zero degrees Celsius. 
• Yet there is minimal to no snowfall even during winters (perks of being in a valley). The most pleasant time is between September to November.

Outdoor – 

• You will live in a place for four years where the rest of India comes for vacation. So if you are a keen traveler or adventurer, it will suit you perfectly. 
• Hill stations like Kullu and Manali are just some kilometers away. 
• Two famous lakes Prashar and Rewalsar are also a few hours drive from the campus. 
• Apart from that, Himachal Pradesh is full of places and sites which will fulfill all your travel needs; heritage, beauty, spirituality, adventure, etc.

So, IIT Mandi is definitely one of the best IIT campuses in the country and you will certainly enjoy your life here.
