How are HR summer placements at MDI Gurgaon? What is the average stipend received and what are the profiles offered?
You will be glad to know that the MDI HR batch gets placed much earlier than PGDM. This is because the batch is smaller than the number of visiting companies and hence all the students are placed within no time.
My friend was in MDI Gurgaon HR program and shared the summer placements scenario with me. Packages: 58 students were offered decent packages with the Highest CTC standing at INR 35.57 LPA. In fact the last candidate also got 85000/- month.
Profiles: Profiles vary from consultants to Corporate HR and Plant HR roles. Around 30 students are placed in consultant roles.
Companies visited: The big names that visited MDI Gurgaon for HR placements were Aditya Birla Group, Google, JSW Group, Accenture Strategy, AON Consulting, Deloitte USI, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Flipkart, Mahindra & Mahindra, PhonePe & PwC US Advisory.
All the top B-School competitions for HR are open for 3 colleges only namely Xl, TISS, and MDI. MDI students have won many such competitions and shone the name of the institute. Without any doubt it is one of the best B Schools in the country and its placements are a testament to that.
How is MBA placement at Tezpur University?
I have a few friends from Tezpur University. According to them, the placement record for MBA is average. Most of the recruiting companies visiting the campus hire for local positing with salary packages of around 3.5 LPA.
Occasionally one or two companies offer few high-paying job roles. In the recent placement drive, DHL offered a salary package of 8 LPA.
However, you always have the option to opt for off-campus placements.
Does B.Tech. percentage matter during placement at NITIE for PGDIE, as I'm just having first class (aggregate of 4 years)?
One of my close friends was a student of NITIE Mumbai. According to her, the admission process of NITIE has two steps.
- The first step is to attain a good aggregate in the GATE to get a call.
- The second step is the GD and Interview round, which helps in the conversion of the call when cleared.
Like most colleges, NITIE follows a decent distribution of the marks. The distribution is - Entrance Exam(in percentage), Group Discussion/Personal Interview, Under-Graduate Exam(in percentage), 12th Exam(in percentage), 10th Exam(in percentage) and Work Experience(If any).
Although these factors are responsible, nobody can tell how particularly these factors affect admission. But in the interview, the student would be asked for the reason for attaining fewer grades in graduation. Therefore, the student should be prepared for that in advance with a logical and sensible answer.
In the placements, the shortlisting procedure is very unpredictable and therefore it's very difficult to say whether or not the grades will affect the shortlisting process. But the fact is that the NITIE has 100% placements and hence a student need not worry about the placements.
Which has better placements, IIT (BHU) Electrical or IIT (BHU) Electronics?
IIT BHU is among the top Engineering colleges in India. NIRF 2020 has ranked IIT BHU in the 11th position for BTech. The average placement rate for all branches at the institute is 71%.
Electronics Engineering:
From the Electronics Engineering department at IIT-BHU, almost 95% of the students get placed each year. Placements of Electronics are par with Computer Science Placements.
- The average package for Electronics is around 14 LPA.
- Core companies that offer placement for Electronics students are Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Qualcomm, Intel, Sony, LG Electronics, Texas Instruments, Cisco, Philips Semiconductors, Toshiba, etc.
Electrical Engineering:
The Electrical Department has very good placement records over the years. In last year’s placement, around 90% of the students from the department were placed.
- The average package received was around 11-12 LPA.
- Core recruiting companies visiting for recruiting ElectricalPGCIL, IOCL, HPCL, Trident, Reliance, Maruti, etc.
Besides this all the Non-Core Sector Companies in the domain Analytics, Business, Management, Consultancies, etc. offer jobs in both departments but some software companies are open only for Electronics but generally overall companies visiting the campus for Electronics and Electrical Engineering are nearly the same. Hence according to the statistics, the placements of the Electronics Department are better than the Electrical Engineering Department.
Are placements at IIM Ranchi at par with IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode or IIM Shillong seeing the placement report which mention similar average salary?
IIM Ranchi has had strong placements in recent years, including for the 2022 batch. According to the placement report, MBA and MBA HR students at IIM Ranchi received an average salary of INR 16.17 lakhs per year and INR 15.63 lakhs per year, respectively. The highest salary offered was INR 32.21 lakhs per year, which is about 8.3% higher than the previous year. The placement drive attracted over 250 recruiters, including major companies such as Deloitte, Aditya Birla Group, Infosys, EY, and IBM. Students were offered various job roles including asset management, wealth management, corporate banking, and project management.
It is worth noting that both IIM Kozhikode, IIM Shillong, and IIM Indore also have their own strengths and weaknesses. It is advisable to review their placement reports to make an informed decision.
How is NIT Sikkim in terms of its CSE placements?
The placement in CSE at NIT Sikkim is very good, having offers from top MNCs across the world. The points below give a brief overview of the placement of NIT Sikkim, specific to Computer Science and Engineering.
- Some of the top companies visiting NIT Sikkim for recruiting students from CSE are Intel India, Johnson Controls, McAfee, Bosch, Infosys, etc.
- There are several students from the CSE branch who have done summer research internships in several prestigious national and international institutes. Some of the institutes are the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, IIT Bombay, etc.
- There are some students who were successful in cracking Google Summer of Code. They were the only students from all NITs in north-eastern India to crack GSoC.
- The main recruiters for CSE in NIT Sikkim are all state private limited, analytics quotient, and Checktronix India Ltd. With time, NIT Sikkim has evolved as one of the best NITs in north-eastern India.
Therefore, it is clear that placements in CSE at NIT Sikkim are as good as any other institute of the national importance of the same level.

What is the placement scenario of ECE in NIT Patna? What is the average package of this branch?
As per the placement data available for 2023 up till now, ECE at NIT Patna has recorded its highest CTC at 45 LPA. The average package stands at 12.52 LPA and the median package stands at 8.50 LPA. The placement percentage for ECE stands at 85.07% as of now. The branch is performing quite well in the placements.
Some of the companies that have visited the NIT Patna campus for placements include- Adobe, Amazon, Atlassian, Byju’s, Cashfree, CRED, Delhivery, Fastenal India, Fractal Analytics, Google, IBM, o9 Solutions, OLX and Oracle among others.
I would suggest you look at the median salary rather than the average salary during placement analysis. This is because the former is a more reliable way of finding out the salary trend for that particular placement season.
Thus, ECE has shown good placement figures in the NIT Patna 2023 placement drive.

During the 2022 placements, in the PGDM Marketing specialization at ITM Navi Mumbai, the highest salary stood at INR 14.00 LPA and the average salary stood at INR 8.00 LPA.
The highest salary in the marketing specialization was the highest recorded salary for the PGDM course in the 2022 placements at ITM Navi Mumbai.
Overall, during the 2022 placements, 100% of students were placed. The list of top recruiters consisted of - Amazon, Shoppers Stop, TNS, Kotak Mahindra Bank, JP Morgan, and LG.
