Manipal University is a self-financed university of private status, while Bharati Vidyapith is a deemed university. Both of them enjoy a highly reputed NAAC accreditation and rankings from esteemed associations. The choice between the two institutes for CS or IT depends on certain basic factors some of which are discussed below in detail.

Ranking:

• BVP holds an A category in NAAC third cycle conducted in 2017. It has more than 23000 students with 1600+ faculty members. It is a diversified university with students from 48 countries.

• Manipal University has the 6th rank among all universities in the north zone. Best University in Rajasthan Award 2020 is also rewarded to the institution.

Academics & Fee Structure:

• Manipal University offers B.Tech CS /IT at a fee structure of Rs. 12.01 Lakhs as a full-time course of 4 years duration.

• The university also offers a B.Tech Lateral program of 3 years at Rs. 4.27 Lakhs

• BVP University offers a B.Tech program for these two specializations at Rs. 4.8 Lakhs.

Eligibility:

The details about the selection process are as follows.

• Manipal University offers a minimum criterion of 10+2 with 55% marks. MET /JEE score is mandatory for B.tech admission. A direct admission facility is available but that solely depends on the marks obtained.

• Bharati Vidyapith accepts 10+2 with 50% marks and a BVP common entrance test score.

The placement facts related to both universities are as follows.

The choice can be done on the factors mentioned above. Bharati Vidyapith is a credible option but Manipal outshines in the most important domain which is placements. However, Manipal is a good option for pursuing CS/IT.

KIIT is one of the oldest Engineering and Technology colleges in India and is ranked 301+ in the 2019 Times Higher Education. A superb placement record ever since it's the inspiration is held by the school, right from the department of mining to an exceptional upgrading placement log in computing (CSE) and IT.

IGIT Sarang is indeed among the oldest Engineering Colleges of India that laid the foundation 38 years back. IGIT Sarang is among the distinguished institutes specialized in departments like civil, mechanical, electronics, mining including computing (CSE) mentioned on the official site and a few other reliable websites to be contemplated.

Placements:

KIIT

• The department of Training and Placement cells has 500+ Corporate Recruiters associated with a Strong Network of 50,000+ Alumni having 100% placement record.
• The Institute has a tie-up with some renowned companies like Dassault Systemes, Siemens, I.B.M., Tata Steel, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, Accenture, etc.
• The Highest package offered: 20 lakh L.P.A. by New floats and the Average package offered: 6. 50 lakh LPA

IGIT, Sarang

• Students become eligible for campus placement from the sixth semester.
• Reputed companies like Infosys, T.C.S Patni Computers, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd Larsen and Toubro Ltd. etc. visit the campus.
• The placement cell was successful in calling 14-15 companies for in campus placements and also conducted many placement drives.
• As per the latest update, the placement has increased a lot ranging between 60 to 70%.

Infrastructure:

• IGIT Sarang has a fully equipped hostel and college which separate hostels for students of all years. Staff quarters and mess facilities with proper lab equipment for Austrians are some other hallmarks of the university. The centralized library has a digitized air conditioner and Wi-Fi facility.
• KIIT provides excellent facilities with more than one computer lab and spacious and clean classrooms. The library consists of more than enough books for all topics and each student is provided with their own Wi-Fi password with good internet speed and unlimited data. There are various simulation labs, physics labs, chemistry labs, etc.

Admission into these colleges is possible via the college entrance exams that they conduct. However, JEE scores are also considered. However, the name of an institute could just be taken as a tag, and you'll possibly pursue your dream job from any of the two institutes mentioned if you stay determined.

Nirma has been accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC and is ranked 131st in India by NIRF. On the other hand, PDPU has been accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC and is graded Autonomy by UGC. It's ranked 177th in India by NIRF.

Admissions:

Nirma University

• The college accepts students based on the JEE Main and GUJCET scores with 75% in 10+2.
• The college has 68 seats in Chemical Engineering and the minimum cut-off for the same was 1706 (GUJCET Round VIII) in 2020.
• The total fee for B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is 7.61 lakhs.

PDP University

• The college accepts students based on the JEE Main score with 45% in 10+2.
• The college has 120 seats in Chemical Engineering.
• The total fee for B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is 9.73 lakhs.

Nirma University

• Over 300 companies visit the campus every year for campus recruitment.
• The placement rate of last year is about 95% with the highest package of INR 16 LPA and the average package of INR 8 LPA.
• Top recruiters of 2020 are Amul, Accenture, ACC Cement, Adani Group, Oracle, Agram Legal, Wrangler Denim, Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Aditya Birla, LG Electronics India, Geometrics Global, Novartis, Tata Teleservices Limited, etc.

PDP University

• The placement rate of last year is about 70% with the highest package of INR 16.6 LPA and the average package of INR 6.75 LPA.
• The highest package for Chemical Engineering was of INR 7.5 LPA and the average package of INR 3.38 LPA.
• Top recruiters of 2020 are Adani Power, Berger Paints, Byju’s, Cloud 24*7 Inc, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd, Honeywell, L&T Technology Services, Mahindra & Mahindra, MG Motors, OPS Hub, Nyara Energy, Reliance Industries, Synoptek, TCS, Tata Power, Worley, ZealousWeb, etc.

Faculty:

• Nirma University: Faculties are well experienced and most of them are Ph.D. holders. To provide industrial experience as per course needs, they arrange industrial visits.
• PDP University: There are a total of 218 faculty members including lecturers, assistant professors, associate professors, professors.

As for choosing a better college that completely depends on the interest and preferences of the individual. Nirma University has more affordable fees whereas PDPU offers more industry exposure and Internship opportunities. So, choose a college based on your choice.

PEC Chandigarh ranks 68 among the top pioneer engineering colleges by NIRF 2020. It maintains a standard placement record of 80% by providing jobs in top quality MNCs. 

UIET Chandigarh ranks 54th among the private engineering colleges by NIRF ranking and maintains a placement record of 80%. 

Admission Process

PEC Chandigarh:

• The minimum marks required is 75% marks in 10+2 along with a valid score in JEE Main.
• The seats for metallurgy and material science available are 28. 
• The course fee is INR 3.45 LPA.
• The cutoff required in JEE Main is in the range of 22511-32666.

UIET Chandigarh:

• The admission is based on the valid score of 75% marks in 10+2 with JEE Main. 
• The course fee is INR 3.25 LPA.
• The seats available are 40 for the course of IT.
• The cutoff required in JEE Main is in the range of 24265-35348.

Placements:

The placements in both these colleges are good and many of the companies offer handsome packages to the students every year. CSE receives the highest amount of placement of 100%. 

The top companies are Google, IBM, Directi, Hero Honda, Deloitte, Microsoft, Accenture, Ericsson, etc. 

Facilities:

• The central library of PEC Chandigarh has a collection of 1 lakh volumes of books and research papers. 
• There are six hostels in the campus, four of them are for boys and two for girls. 
• A 120 capacity of air-conditioned hall in UIET Chandigarh for holding presentations and interactive sessions.
• The university library of UIET Chandigarh has an inflibnet network which allows them to connect through the digital facilities. 

Although, UIET provides more placements for all the branches, however, PEC Chandigarh is more preferred than UIET since PEC is one of the oldest institutions in Chandigarh.

It is difficult to compare two different institutes and two different courses. You should choose the course you are interested in and the college according to that.

Faculty:

The Electronics and Telecommunications engineering department at VIIT Pune has approximately 25 professors and almost 16 faculties have Ph.Ds with 12 years of experience. Whereas, the IT department of PVGCOET has 11 highly qualified faculty members.

Laboratories:

VIIT has awesome Electronics and Telecommunications labs such as 3 computer labs, 4 hardware labs, one virtual lab, and 7 sponsored laboratories with LAN and WiFi internet connection. In PVGCOET, there are 5 IT laboratories as per the requirement of SPPU and AICTE.

Alumni:

The alumni strength of VIIT Pune is stronger than PVGCOET. More than 1000 alumni of VIIT are working with reputed and multinational companies across the country as well as foreign.

Admission process:

The admission processes at VIIT for E & TC and IT at PVGCOET are similar. The admission process for B.Tech students is entrance based.

• PVGCOET accepts MHT-CET scores for admission, whereas, VIIT accepts both JEE Mains and MHT-CET scores for admission.

• The total seats for B.Tech for E & TC at VIIT Pune are about 180 whereas, at PVGCOET total intake for B.Tech IT is 60.

• The course fee for B.Tech E & TC at VIIT Pune and for Information technology at PVGCOET is 1.64 lakhs and 1.12 lakhs respectively.

Placements:

VIIT, Pune-

• An average salary of 5.44 lakhs per annum is received by the students of VIIT Pune.

• The top recruiters for VIIT Pune ( E & TC) are Accenture, Cognizant, Ambuja cement, Deloitte, Hindustan Unilever, IBM, GODREJ, etc.

PVGCOET-

• The average CTC received by the IT department at PVGCOET is approximately 5-6 LPA.

• The major recruiters for PVGCOET ( IT) are Infosys Technologies, Wipro, Accenture, Reliance, IBM, Infotech, etc.

VIIT has a strong collaboration with industries and research institutes like TIFR, Amazon Web services (AWS), Microsoft technologies, and many more as a result their placement record is much stronger than PVGCOET.
