Do AIIMS hostels provide separate rooms for students?

RR
Rahul Rao Posted On : November 16th, 2022
M.B.B.S. from All India Institute of Medical Sciences

The general answer is yes. AIIMS hostels do provide separate rooms for students. But this does not apply to every AIIMS.

For example, AIIMS Delhi and AIIMS Raebareli provide separate rooms but AIIMS Raipur doesn’t. The 1st year students have to share rooms with 3-4 other students.

So it all depends on which AIIMS hostel you are in.

SR
Sayantan Ray Posted On : May 21st, 2021
studied at National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (2020)

One of my friends studied atNIFTEM . As per him, it is a very good institute and life is also very interesting, especially during the early college days as it was a new journey of his life.

  • The professors here are very talented, well educated and very helpful in nature.
  • They love to interact with the students and guide them with their studies and doubts.
  • The course curriculum is also very good and well arranged.
  • The basics are being taught during the first year and the core fundamentals of food are being taught from second year onwards.
  • The laboratories are also good and well equipped with all the necessary facilities.
  • The mess and hostel food is not so good but is hygenic.
  • There are various kinds of sports and extracurricular activities being organised by the college where all the students can participate.

Hence, life at NIFTEM will be very good. You will get the chance to develop and grow yourself in all aspects, from academics to extra curricular activities, but in the end it all depends on you on how you can use these opportunities to shape your future and career in a better way.

Which is better for CS/ECE NIT Hamirpur, NIT Jalandhar, IIIT Kancheepuram, IIIT Jabalpur?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 4th, 2023
Undergrad, IIIT Jabalpur

Keeping in mind the academic environment and placement statistics, the following should be the preferences:

CSE at NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Jabalpur, NIT Jalandhar, and IIIT Kancheepuram.

ECE at NIT Hamirpur, ECE at NIT Jalandhar, IIIT Kancheepuram, and then IIIT Jabalpur.

Choose a college with a broadband internet connection in the hostels for CSE. In general, the faculty at all of these colleges will be mediocre, and you will be forced to rely on the internet for your education. Once the CSE and hostel broadband requirements have been met, consider which college is closer to home, near a city, and not in a country where you do not speak the native language.

What are the criteria followed for selecting students at SSN College of Engineering, through management quota, after calling for a test/interview?

AS
Anubhav Sharma Posted On : June 24th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

You will be shortlisted based on your board score. The selection process is followed by a computer-based aptitude test and a personal interview session. My friend appeared for this exam and she had mentioned that the mathematics section was taken from JEE Main and there were certain questions based on logic.

The interviewers would ask for certain proofs of whatever you have accomplished. So, you would have to carry along your certificates as they ask about your participation in extracurriculars and look at the certificates as proof. These certificates can be of anything you have partaken in dancing, singing, drama or any other activity you like.

In the interview, they will consider things like your JEE marks, passions, and ambition in life. Plus, the obvious- why do you want to take admission in SSN College, and what all options do you consider as your backup options. This entire interview process checks what kind of a person you are in terms of talent. It will be an advantage if you can speak fluently in English.

Which is better BITS pilani or NIT?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : June 28th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Trust me when I say both BITS Pilani and NIT (top NITs only) are almost at the same level and comparing them is illogical. However, you would like to consider a few parameters specifically

  1. Placements: Placement-wise, both NIT Trichy and BITS (Goa and Hyderabad) are on the same level while BITS Pilani is better. In fact, the Pilani campus has placements on the same level as old IITs.
  2. Infrastructure: Both NIT Trichy and BITS have top-notch infrastructure and lab facilities but BITS is the winner if you consider the hostel facilities.
  3. Cost: Studying at BITS is definitely very costly though you get better hostel facilities. But I don’t think better hostel facilities can convince a student from a middle-class family to join BITS.
  4. Higher Education: This is where the BITS Pilani brand value comes to play. The BITS degree is treated at par with old IITs and has equally good global recognition.

Many people hesitate from joining BITS because of its high fees but trust me the job opportunities and quality of education you will be offered will be worth every penny you spent.

Is it worth it to go into 6 new IIMs (Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Udaipur, Trichy & Kashipur) rather than going for an MS?

PS
Puneet Srivastava Posted On : January 5th, 2023
Selected in IIM-IPM'17

Before choosing a college, try to make sure what you are really interested in. If it is MS then don’t go for any IIM. This is because you can pursue an MBA later in life if MS did not work for you. But you will not get the chance to choose Ms after your MBA. Also since it’s your area of interest, chances are you might find your talents and may want to work on them.

Now if you are sure about the course but confused about the IIMs, I will give you my honest opinion. The new IIMs are enjoying fame and glory owing to the achievements of their predecessors alone. They haven’t done much to attain the level of older IIMs. These new IIMs are poorly organized. The faculty is below average, the infrastructure is substandard and the teaching is pathetic. Yet they are here to claim the coveted IIM tag.

So if you are someone for whom the tag of IIM and its high placement matters only, you can surely go for a new IIM. But if you value education over institutions then base your decision on research.
