People in India are very brand conscious. This is exactly why most engineering aspirants can be seen flocking to IITs. IIT is the dream college for them and their sheep mentality does not let them look beyond it. I have met many people from BITS who claim that choosing BITS over IIT was one of the wisest decisions of their life.
BITS Pilani is a well-reputed technical institute. BITS Pilani ranking by NIRF is 20 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023. Every BITS campus has top-notch infrastructure and placement scenarios making it one of the best institutes that enjoys global recognition as well.

My friend recently flunked her interview as she did not prepare for the questions related to her undergraduate degree. They asked her to start with a basic introduction after which they asked her about the subjects of her undergraduate program. Because she had not prepared well for this part, her hesitation took the better of her. They probed her with questions like
Did you study Financial Subjects or about to study?
What worsened her situation was the questions asked by the second panel. She asked her some mathematical questions which became the reason for her doom.
The conclusion from the interview is that as a fresher you should definitely go through your graduation subjects as most of the questions will be asked from that only. Remember they will question your ability to answer the questions confidently most importantly.
Life post-MBA from top B-Schools such as FMS, XLRI, MDI, NITIE, JBIMS, and SP Jain for most people is comfortable, because of decent pay packages and perks. Most alumni of these institutes are placed in companies and sectors of their choice. Here are the recent placement highlights for these institutes.
Institute | Average CTC (in INR) | Highest CTC (in INR) |
FMS | 32.4 LPA | 58 LPA |
XLRI | 30.78 LPA | 60+ LPA |
MDI | 26.07 LPA | 1.14 CPA |
NITIE | 25.41 LPA | 49 LPA |
SP Jain | 26.06 LPA | 46.65 LPA |
JBIMS | 27.63 LPA | 42 LPA |
Achieving a work-life balance can be difficult. However, doing MBA from these institutes will certainly teach you how to handle the pressure of professional life.
Admission is available in two sessions: July and January. The university supplies the study material, which is fine. It follows a year system, with 7 courses (6 theory and 1 practical) in the first year and 6 in the second year (3 theory, 1 practical, 1 internship requiring at least 240 hours total, and 1 project/research (can only be done if you pass the Research Methodology and Statistics subjects in the first year)). There are three optional courses to choose from in the second year of IGNOU's MA in Psychology.
Each has different job prospects, and it is believed you will be familiar with them because it is clear from their names what fields they represent. The procedure is extremely simple. Obtain admission, complete assignments, and register for the exam at the desired exam center. After passing the exams, which can take between three and six years. Following that, you will be given a mark sheet and a provisional certificate. To obtain an original degree, you must wait at least six to twelve months for the convocation to be held by IGNOU, and you must pay a nominal fee of Rs 600-900 for registration and certificate.
If you are unable to attend the convocation, your certificate will be mailed to your home address. However, the practicals and viva-voce are an exception because some of the exams were conducted recently (depending on the Regional/Study center). It is acceptable in the first year, but if it occurs in the second year, it may cause a hindrance for higher education because the certificates may not be available at the right time for seeking admission, (seems IGNOU is nowadays quickly distributing the provisional and statement of marks. The good news is that you will receive it directly to your home via post after completing the course). The learner must submit assignments for all theory papers, and writing them will take a lot of time, but it will be beneficial for a passionate learner of psychology.
If you want to pursue this MA in Psychology from IGNOU, you must fully commit to this course because the field of psychology is vast. So working while pursuing this course may not be the best option because it may require 3 months of internship, pure research work, and an ocean of writing work.
Regarding the job prospects, as a student of the specific course, you hope to win the UGC NET/JRF and continue your education to become a lecturer. If I get the JRF, I plan to pursue an M Phil in Clinical Psychology and become a licensed clinical practitioner in the mental health field.
IGNOU's evaluation system is also distinct from that of traditional universities. IGNOU has a multi-tiered evaluation system.
1. Exercises in self-assessment within each unit of study.
2. Continuous evaluation primarily through tutor-marked assignments, practical assignments, and seminar/workshop/extended contact programmes.
3. The end-of-term exams
4. Work on a project
The evaluation of learners is based on the various instructional activities that they engage in. To complete an academic programme, a learner must write assignment responses before taking term-end exams on a regular basis. A learner must submit TMA responses to the Coordinator of the Study Centre to which he or she is assigned.
A learner should keep duplicate copies of TMA assignment responses that may be required to be produced on demand at the Student Evaluation Division. In June and December, term-end examinations are held at various examination centres throughout the country and abroad.
I have a few friends who graduated from IIM Ahmedabad. Most of them used to gush about the teaching methodology of Professor Saral Banerjee. He is an expert in Operations Management. But his skills and knowledge aren’t limited to a single discipline. You will scarcely come across a better definition of strategy than the one proposed by him, “Strategy is all about closing doors.” His way of explaining the facts of management through the Elephant, Cheetah, and Tortoise story makes a lifelong impression.
Swami Shraddhanand College is located on North Campus. Because of its location and management, it cannot be compared to any other DU college.
However, when you consider the foundation of a college, namely education and extracurricular activities, in terms of education, SSNC's History Department ranks among the top ten in Delhi University for some specific courses, along with the courses like Microbiology, Life Science, Botany, and Geography, SSNC. Aside from that, there is the well-known Cricket team, which has been a champion for the past decade or so.
