Which has the better campus life, NIT Durgapur or NIT Jamshedpur?

SG
Sakshi Gupta Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
B.tech C.S.E from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (2020)

Well, both the colleges are in different states and both have their own set of reports, some good some bad. Though from an infrastructure point of view, NIT Jamshedpur is small and cozy whereas NIT Durgapur is quite beautiful and flourished in about 187 acres of land.

  • The campus life at NIT Durgapur is really awesome. Apart from academics and infrastructure, it’s an NIT so you can understand it's pretty good.
  • But if you really want to experience it, you should definitely join NIT Durgapur and enjoy the vast playgrounds, clean campus, and friendly environment.
  • Though you can get some negative aspects but there is nothing wrong related to campus life.

Similarly, it goes for NIT Jamshedpur.

  • Even though the infrastructure of NIT Jamshedpur is not at par but definitely the campus life is awesome here too. The students make the campus lively.
  • You will get to see a vast and clean area with basketball, cricket and football ground.
  • Though the facility of Wi-Fi is not provided but you will have sufficient speed and workstations to fulfill your needs.
  • The mess food provided is of good quality.
  • There are many places to hang out and inside the institute only. The cleanliness is very good; in fact, Jamshedpur is one of the cleanest cities of East India.
  • The seniors are awesome and do cooperate and guide you if you face any issues.

Both the campus have good campus life and environment. But better contact someone who studies there and judge the authenticity and then choose between the two and definitely consider placement, faculty, and research before opting for either of them. The campus life at NIT Jamshedpur is quite good and you are not going to regret joining this institute.

KMC is best for your overall development, participating in societies and politics it will help explore the leader in you.

What are the campus and hostel facilities in IIIT-Allahabad?

AM
Ayush Mittal Posted On : March 23rd, 2021
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad

It’s quite a big campus with impressive infrastructure. In my opinion, one of the best things that you can get here is internet services. There is unlimited access to the internet 24*7 in all corners of the campus as well as a hostel both through LAN and WiFi.

There is a total of 5 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel that ensure smooth accommodation of all the students of IIIT Allahabad. Although there’s little variety in the food available it is still not too bad. For sports and other related activities, there is an option of a swimming pool, badminton courts, squash, snooker, table tennis, lawn tennis, football ground to name a few.

The hostel rooms are quite spacious as compared to many other college hostels and they are properly ventilated and lit. There is a bed, a table, a chair, and one almirah provided in every room at the hostel.

Since it is a newly constructed campus, the bathrooms and other facilities are quite well maintained. Moreover, cleanliness and hygiene are also paid attention to and the management and the authorities take very good care about it.

Overall, there are very few issues and complaints that one might have throughout his stay at IIIT Allahabad.

BS
Bhavna Singh, Posted On : October 25th, 2021
B.E.(comp science engg.) from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (2019)

One of my friends recently graduated from CSVTU. According to him if you abide by certain rules your college life will be easier.

  • The most important thing to become an engineer is to choose whether you will go for a job or higher studies, then prepare accordingly.
  • Start preparing for GATE/CAT/XMAT examinations from your second year of engineering and try not to have a backlog in any engineering exams.
  • You need to understand that the marks and university do not make much impact. It is your profile and skills that matter.
  • To attend all the college functions, sports events, etc. This will help in your holistic development.
  • Do study from textbooks as per syllabus, and practice questions.
  • Solve previous year’s university questions. Try doing a proper revision before any exam.
  • Instead of mugging up theories, learn and understand the concept thoroughly.

Overall, try enjoying your college life as this is a major place where you can grow and create your individuality. Along with academics try to be also enthusiastic about extracurriculars as they will be beneficial as well.

RK
Rohit Kalyan Posted On : January 14th, 2022
B.Tech from Kalasalingam University (2019)

One of my friends studied at Kalasalingam University. According to him the college was average but it had several improvements too, but still the institute did not change as expected. There are many things problematic with the college, these include:

  • The overall infrastructure of the campus is fine, but the hostels are not well maintained.
  • The rooms are not hygienic enough and there is always a scarcity of pure drinking water.
  • The food offered in the mess is also not hygienic nor healthy.
  • The washrooms are not cleaned regularly.
  • There is also a scarcity of bathing water.
  • No mobiles are allowed inside the campus. Laptops can be used only for educational purposes before the classes start or post 8 PM.
  • To reach your block you have to walk for almost 2 kilometers.
  • Security in the hostels are bad, often things go missing.
  • Communication skills of professors are too bad, which is a very bad influence on the students.

Therefore, it is suggested that you do not consider this institution for your studies, as it offers a very bad environment which can impact a student’s intellectual growth.
