How is the NIT Raipur campus?
The NIT Raipur Campus is decent and can be rated 3 out of 5. It does not match the other lavishing NIT campus but has its own advantages. Here are some of the things that you should know about the NIT Raipur campus.

How is life at CMC Vellore as an undergraduate?
CMC Vellore offers an exciting campus life to undergraduates. It is counted among the best places in the country to study medicine. It is consistently ranked among the 5 medical colleges in the country.
The seniors and faculties are helpful. You can approach them regarding any academic issues. Students are assigned mentors and foster from the first year itself. The mentors and fosters help students with their curriculums and academics. Being a tertiary care center, CMC Vellore offers decent clinical exposure to the students. You will get to explore many complicated and rare cases. The research opportunities are ample.
How is BIET, Jhansi in terms of education, infrastructure, hostel and the students?
You should not expect high as it is a government college. The faculty at BIET is not that great. Most of the classes are given by guest faculty. The classroom education is not up to the expectations.
There will be enough time for self-preparation with the help of the seniors.
There will be few things that the students need to bring with them before heading towards the hostel of BIET.
- You need to bring your own mattresses and pillow. Only the bed is provided.
- You need to bring your own bucket, a mug, and your personal essentials.
- There are a lot of mosquitoes and thus mosquito repellents are essential.
These things can be also bought by the canteen outside the hostel. Things can also be bought in the city which is 8km away.
There will be many types of students at BIET including very studious students who will never miss any class and become the teacher’s favorite.
For accommodation, the first-year students are occupied in three occupancy rooms. The second-year students are given four-seater rooms and third and fourth-year students are given single occupancy rooms. Hostels are different in all the years.
The students should meet the recent pass out and current students of the college and know the current situation.
What is it like to be an integrated PhD student at JNCASR in Bangalore? How is life at JNCASR?
The campus at JNCASR is smaller when compared to other institutes, but it has a very welcoming ambience.
- The pressure depends on the course and also on the individual.
- The facilities provided here are at equal standards with some institutions of international repute.
- Here, you get to learn and perform techniques which are lacking in most of the institutions.
- Many costly reagents and expensive machinery are used by students.
- They are expected to be responsible enough to utilize these with care.
- The students here are brilliant in all aspects.
Students here are hardworking and determined to fulfill their goals. For this the college provides proper guidance and exposure required by them. So, it is recommended that you choose JNCASR if you are confident enough to match with their level.
What's it like to be a postgraduate student in NIMHANS?
One of my friends was a student from an electronics engineering background who took Neuroscience for M.Phil. A lot of people have questioned his choice, but he said that it was a good decision and enjoyed learning about the course. Let me share his experience.
- He, including all other students, was posted in a new department every month. His first posting was in Human Genetics.
- They used to have a lecture series, starting with the History of Genetics, Basic Readings, Hot Research Topics, etc. This was followed by practicals with hands-on training.
- They attended all the seminars, journal club, viva, or thesis defenses happening in the department.
- Towards the end of their one-month posting; they have to present a seminar, submit an assignment, and take an internal exam.
- They also interact with the Ph.D. students to get an overview of research carried out in each department.
- The course was designed in such a way that full freedom is given to learning.
If you do not study and follow properly, it becomes difficult. He was content with his choice, stating that it is hard work that only matters. Except for the MD courses and nursing specialties all the courses here at NIMHANS are super specialties and research degrees (Ph.D./MPhil).
How is Karunya University girls and boys life?
College life at Karunya University is the same for both boys and girls. You will have to follow the dress code, attendance, and morning prayers.
When it comes to hostels, girls and boys have different rules. Overall rules for girls are more strict. Girls have curfews around 6-6:30. Boys can stay outside for longer. You will also be under CCTV surveillance on campus.
Overall, if you choose your friends wisely, you can have a good time during your stay at the institute.
How is life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar?
One of my friends studied at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. According to her, it had a really enthusiastic crowd and an atmosphere appropriate for education.
- Every department has great coordination among them.
- You will be taught 3 subjects in the first year: Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.
- The food provided by the mess is of average quality, but you will get used to it. It is comparatively affordable.
- For now, OPDs are closed, hence only emergency cases are being taken up. Therefore, workload was on the lighter side.
- For MBBS students, there are 3 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels.
- Security is very strict in the campus
- A volleyball court, a football court, a cricket field, 2 badminton courts & 2 TT boards comprise the sports facilities at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Overall, the campus is huge and campus life is amazing. AIIMS Bhubaneswar also has various unique facilities such as Body donation, Embalming, Cold storage facilities, and Organ donation.
How is the student life in HPU Shimla?
Shimla is one of the best places in India. HPU Shimla is situated in the beautiful hills of Shimla. A senior of mine who attended HPU, says that life at HPU Shimla is good. Every facility is given to the students at HPU Shimla.
- HPU Shimla has excellent faculty in every department and also most of them have received a Ph.D. degree in their respective fields.
- The seniors here are also helpful and supportive.
- HPU Shimla has a lovely hostel as well overlooking the hills and the valleys.
- HPU Shimla conducts several cultural festivities and events. It has got a large auditorium where the events and functions are held.
Life at HPU Shimla will be pretty amazing. It is better to stay away from politics and just enjoy college life and the academics in the university.
How is the hostel and campus life for first year students at MNIT Jaipur as compared to MNNIT Allahabad?
Hostel and campus life are subjective things that will vary between individuals; there is no metric to comparatively quantify the same. I can give you some idea about the hostel and campus life at MNIT Jaipur and MNNIT Allahabad based on what I heard from my friends at the institutes.
Comparison:
- Location: This is the best thing about MNIT Jaipur as it is located in the best locale of Jaipur, Malviya Nagar. This is one of the most happening places in the city and you would enjoy proper city life. In comparison Allahabad is a smaller and more old school town, so you may not enjoy proper city life. But then, this is subjective of course.
- Campus: You will get uninterrupted fast internet access. The campus has 9 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels. There is one mega boy’s hostel with 1000 bad capacity and one mega girl’s hostel with 600 beds capacity. All others are medium-sized (200-300 student capacity). In the first year, students share with two or four other students in their rooms. After that single rooms are allotted.
- Weather: The climate of Jaipur is harsh and hot most of the time. Allahabad, being in the plains, should have a comparatively pleasant climate.
- Food: The mess food at MNIT Jaipur is tasteless and pathetic.
- Other facilities: The computer center of MNIT Jaipur is really very good and is of a very high standard.
Based on what I heard from my friends at these two institutions, it seems that MNIT Jaipur offers a better hostel and campus life.
How is life at IISER Mohali moving?
Life at IISER Mohali is quite good. It will teach you how to manage life. You will get to meet many people that you will become good friends with. Memories of your life on campus will stay with you forever. Other than great academics, the institute will teach you how to take care of things on your own.
