What is the reputation of CMC Vellore abroad? Do we get paid during the bond period there for two years?

CJ
Cecelia Jones Posted On : September 22nd, 2023
studied at Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore (2020)

CMC Vellore enjoys a good reputation abroad and you are highly regarded wherever you go. However, you might be considered highly by the Indians staying abroad and not the locals because they hardly know about CMC. People might not be familiar with your college if you are working with a multinational set of colleagues.

Coming to the second part of your question, yes, you do get paid during the bond period of 2 years but the salary depends on your sponsoring body. Some sponsoring bodies have more funds than others so you might not receive a salary equal to your friends. The primary goal is to serve the community so your focus should be social service and not monetary gains. Moreover, the hands-on experience and exposure you get are unmatched and improve your skills a lot and also improve your job opportunities. So, keep money on the back pedestal and work hard to serve society!

There are many students who are Computer Science Engineers who graduated from NIT and worked as Software Developers for months, and then made the decision to pursue an MBA at one of the most prestigious colleges in the country, IIM Bodh Gaya.

The college is mentored by IIM Calcutta and offers a wide range of subjects including HR, Finance, Operations, and Marketing, which are taught by professors from top IIMs such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and various IITs of the country. What is Practice School II in the first semester at BITS Pilani? What are its advantages and disadvantages?

A
Admin Posted On : May 14th, 2024

Under a practical school program, you work with a mentor who supervises you and you can work on multiple projects to enhance your domain knowledge and skills. Practice School II is offered during the final year and is a 22-week full-time program. While students can wish for their desired company, allotment is based on merit. Cisco, GE, Dr Reddy’s, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan are some of the top collaborators.

The advantages of Practice School II are as follows.

  • Students get practical experience and develop a deep understanding of the subject which will be helpful during the interviews.
  • Students can set a good CGPA score early on as completing Practice School II improves the CGPA.
  • Many students receive PPO (pre-placement offers) reducing the stress of placement during the second semester.

The only disadvantage I’d say is the limited recruitment as many

companies recruit during the first semester and project availability.

What happend on your first day at IIIT Allahabad?

SS
Somya Srivastav Posted On : March 17th, 2021
Studied at IIT Delhi

My brother attended IIT Allahabad. His first day was normal and hectic with all the admission procedures and formalities. But his first-class experience was quite amusing. Here is how it went.

One or two days after admission, he is taking the campus tour with our parents. While entering CC - 3 (Computer Center -3), my father casually asked the guard, ‘Where are the classrooms for freshers?’ To this question, the guard replied the classes have started from that day only from 10 A.M.

It was around 10:25 A.M by then and my brother had no idea or any notebook with him. My parents kind of pushed him to attend his first class anyway. He was already 30 mins late. He took a quick peek at the class and according to him, the professor looked lenient. So, he took a chance and tried to sneak in quietly. Nonetheless, the professor saw him and asked, ‘Are you 30 mins late for this class or 30 mins too early for the next one?’ In response, the whole class burst out in laughter.

Later he got to know the said professor was the HOD of the Mathematics department. Needless to say, it was quite a start for my brother.
