Honestly speaking, it might be very difficult to secure admission in the aforementioned B Schools with low academic scores. However, these are not the only B schools in India providing excellent Management education. These B Schools require a decent academic background with a good CAT score. The list is as follows

  • S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research
  • National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli
  • Lovely Professional University
  • Great Lakes Institute of Management
  • Vellore Institute of Technology
  • Nirma University
  • PSG College of Technology
  • Fore School of Management
  • SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies
  • Birla Institute of Management Technology
  • Banaras Hindu University

Please bear in mind that getting admission to any BSchool depends on your individual profiles and not on the policies of the institute.

Here are the steps to apply for transcripts from BPUT -

  1. Fill the transcript form along with information on the number of transcript sets required by you.
  2. Write an application requesting transcripts, and mention the reason for the same.
  3. Get these two forms signed and sealed by the college authorities.

Is IMI Delhi a good college looking at all aspects like exposure, teaching, placements, etc.?

KB
Kordela Baig Posted On : August 17th, 2020
PGDM from IMI Delhi (2020)

IMI Delhiis India’s first corporate-sponsored Business Schoolby large corporates like the RPG Group, ITC, Nestle, SAIL, etc. It has been ranked 11th overall and 7th among the top 10 private B-School by Outlook. The model ensures that the student gets enough Industry exposure. The institute has a location-wise benefit as it is situated at the heart of Delhi which houses many corporate giants.

  • Faculty:IMI Delhi has one of the best faculties for business education in our country, on the same level as the IIM’s. The pedagogy of IMI is also similar to that of IIMs i.e. based on case studies and peer learning.
  • Selection Criteria: Itis quite stringent, thereby filtering the best minds in the country to the institute. This enables the students to collectively benefit through the process of peer learning guided by the amazing faculties. Students are shortlisted for admission based on their CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT scores. The final selection is done based on Academic Performance, Performance in Extempore Speaking, Psychometric Test, Essay Writing, and Personal Interview.
  • Infrastructure:It is one backdrop on the campus; the campus is small and doesn’t have much space for expansion.
  • Placements:The batch strength of the students is small, so students get good opportunities in placements. Top brands like Citi Bank, Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank, Axis Bank, Google, Salesforce, Airtel, Nestle, RB, etc. hire from the campus. The average salary of IMI Delhi is on par with the newer IIM’s, but since the fees of the college are not very high, it provides a good ROI. The students get placed with average salaries of around 13.07 LPA while the highest CTC is around 20 LPA.

How many marks should one get to have access to CSE in BITS Goa?

MB
Mrunmay Bhatt Posted On : March 21st, 2023
BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus (Graduated 2018)

In BITS Goa, admission to the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) program is based on the candidate's performance in the BITSAT exam, which is conducted by the institute. The BITSAT exam is a computer-based test that evaluates candidates' aptitude in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.

The BITSAT exam is scored out of 450 marks, and the cutoff for CSE in BITS Goa varies from year to year. In general, a candidate should aim to score at least 350-400 marks in the BITSAT exam to have a good chance of getting admission to the CSE program at BITS Goa. However, this is just a rough estimate, and the actual cutoff may be higher or lower depending on factors like the difficulty level of the exam and the number of applicants for the CSE program in a particular year.

It's important to note that the BITSAT exam is just one aspect of the admission process, and the final selection is based on a combination of the candidate's BITSAT score and their performance in Class 12 or equivalent examination. BITS Goa also considers factors like extracurricular achievements, work experience, and diversity in the student body while making admission decisions.

Should I do an online BSc data science and programming course from IIT Madras? Will I get placement after it?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 12th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

My friend has enrolled himself for B.Sc. Data Science and Programming course from IIT M. He carefully accessed the course curriculum.

According to him, the course requires at least 4 to 6 hours of study each day.

One can not simply study it on the weekends and cope up. My friend has a tight working schedule, and therefore, he is considering leaving this course.

But if you can devote time for the course each day, then this course will definitely benefit you. The placement statistics are not very clear but the curriculum is rigorous and so you will learn new skills that will come handy during job search.

Which college is better: CET Trivandrum or NIT Calicut?

IS
Indrija Sengupta Posted On : October 1st, 2022
Integrated MS in Biology & Evolutionary Ecology, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (IISER-TVM)

Among these NIT Calicut is better. Being an NIT it offers better resources and facilities. It offers well-equipped lab facilities. The campus library has a good collection of reference books. Students are also provided with digital library facilities. NIT Calicut also has a better industry reach. As a student of the institute, you will get better exposure and networking opportunities.

NIT Calicut placements 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 12.1 LPA. Mercedes Benz, Traceable AI, Ola Mobility, etc. were among the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive.

How good is FMS as compared to IIMs?

YJ
Yogesh Jindal Posted On : December 28th, 2022
MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (Graduated 2013)

Usually, people consider IIM ABC better than FMS. Some parameters on the basis of which people usually compare these colleges are

  • Brand value: The top three IIMs ABC have more brand value than FMS. But the brand value is valuable only in the short run. After a few years, your achievements and results will determine you not your college brand value.
  • Infrastructure: All the 3 IIMs have the upper hand in infrastructure and FMS is not even near them. The IIMs boast excellent hostels, huge open spaces, and state-of-the-art auditoriums. Whereas FMS has one seminar hall, two large lecture halls, 8-10 classrooms, a small canteen, and a small lawn. But great infrastructure is not a prerequisite for great management education.
  • ROI: The fees at FMS is very low in comparison to other IIMs. You can easily pursue an MBA without a student loan. So whatever package you are offered is more than enough. Whereas the fees at IIMs are extremely high and require heavy student loans. So you graduate with a monthly EMI of 40k for 5 years or so. Even with a higher placement than FMS, the ROI is not comparable.
  • Alumni network: If you check the list of FMS alumni, you will find it is very much comparable to the top IIMs.
  • Faculty: The faculty of FMS is equally good if not better than other IIMs. FMS is more about experiential learning. Apart from a strong focus on academic and theoretical learning, there is a focus is on live projects, industry interactions, and corporate competitions. All this leads to the overall development of the students. So we can say the faculty and teaching are at par with IIMs.
  • Campus life: The infrastructure, hostel facilities, and beauty of campus make the campus life of IIM students better than that of FMS which is a residential college.
  • Placements: The batch size at FMS is almost half of IIMs. So the competition is also less. But the major consulting companies that visit FMS offer very few roles in comparison to IIMs.

You can use these parameters to decide which is a better B School for you.

What are the best student organizations or clubs to join at NIT Raipur? Why should students join them?

VR
Vivek Rathore Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Raipur (2016)

Assuming you don’t have any preferences currently in joining any of the clubs at the college, let me help you out by being as lucid as possible. If you are primarily looking for fields like singing, dancing, or literature, clubs like Raaga, Nrityam, and Literati will be your default choices. Also, always keep in mind that the club management certificates you get in your senior years will always be useful in the future.

Now, here are some parameters you can consider before planning on joining any of the clubs at NIT Raipur:

  • Learning/Passion: You should figure out what plan to gain from joining a particular club, how it will help you achieve your future goals. Additionally, do you feel good after joining the club? It should be able to help you gain confidence, build your abilities, hone them and also bring them out. If you are looking to be a journalist in the future, PMRC will be good for you. If you are looking at sports, you can go to Shaurya.
  • Diversity: Make sure that the club you join is not biased towards a single department. This happened with the Innovation cell that includes mainly students from biomedical sciences who do not contribute at all to the point of the club. Some other clubs are dominated by CS/IT/EC/MME students which will not help your cause at all. Make sure that there is diversity in the club you join.
  • Time Value: A few clubs like Technocracy, Samskruti, and E-Cell mainly focus on labor during fests. If you are a first-year student, they will exploit your eagerness to do things. While working during the fest is Technocracy and Samskruti’s job, E-cell was more about entrepreneurship. In other words, don’t work for a club till your interest are satisfied because some clubs will make you volunteer for them and won’t let you join till your second year.

In my opinion, some of the best clubs are NCC, NSS, PMRC, and Raaga. I-Cell, E-Cell, and Nrityam are not that great.
