How long does AKTU take to deliver a degree? How fast is the ATKU Service Portal?

VS
Vaibhavi Singh Posted On : November 7th, 2022
B.Tech in Information Technology at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (2019)

The AKTU online service portal is very efficient. You can get almost all your documents like degree, marksheet, transcript through the student dashboard.

You will have to make a payment for the same after which you will receive the documents within a week. Most of my friends who are in the same college have shared that their experience with the university’s online portal was excellent.

I have done my B E from VTU and my aggregate is 52 I had many backlogs What is a way to calculate my VTU percentage if anyone had backlogs?

The aggregate marks do not carry much importance as they are the passing marks you scored in all semesters. Don't worry about backlogs that much. Calculate your marks after clearing them.

Now, degree percentage is different at every university, and VTU will calculate your score based on your performance from 5th-8th semesters and show that on your degree.

However, the good news is that outside VTU, you should state your overall percentage which is your actual percentage.

Can I get into KMC Manipal if I score in between 200-300 in the NEET and pay the required amount they ask for?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 28th, 2023

A score of 200 to 300 will get you into KMC Manipal only if you enter KMC through NRI quota. Non-NRI management seats cannot be secured with such marks. You need at least 550+ for those seats. Moreover, NRI seats are very expensive so look up the fee structure once.

If you are not an NRI, just show some NRI background by making one NRI relative your sponsor. However, I will advise you to score higher if you want to get admission using the management seats.

I would like to join ISB (Indian School of Business) Hyderabad for a business analytics course. Is it good? Can I get a good job opportunity through this course?

PM
Pria Maheshwari Posted On : January 30th, 2023
Studied ISB Young Leaders Program at Indian School of Business (2021)

My answer is based on my sister’s comparison therefore is brutally honest and objective. Some people might still be praising the Business Analytics course but trust me it’s their see efforts to increase its market value only.

I personally am here to convince you against the Business Analytics course. My sister was a student in the same program and even after relentless efforts for 1.5 years, the results were nowhere near expectations. In Fact, she suffered throughout the course and her career was affected a lot in the process. The following points strongly support my opinion and might convince you of the same

Poor quality and substandard faculty who keep changing their rules

  • The topics are covered very vaguely and no in-depth insight is offered. An entire topic is covered in 5 lectures that are technically just 10 hours.
  • The assignments are not evaluated properly and you don’t receive any feedback from the professors that might encourage you to do better
  • No placement assistance is offered to students in ISB Hyderabad
  • The batch size is ever-increasing and has made ISB Hyderabad a money-marking Institute only.
  • You don’t get to choose one area of Analytics that you want to specialize in and have to study irrelevant subjects that might be of no use to you in the future
  • Despite the fees and everything, it’s just a Certificate program and not a degree or diploma
  • The Certificate of Business Analytics is not approved by the Government of India and has little value officially

If you are really keen to pursue your career in Business Analytics, choose one area in analytics you want to specialize in and pursue that specific area only. For instance, you can choose a Big data or Machine Learning course and go through their concepts and look for jobs and internships in that area specifically. This is a faster and much more focused way rather than joining the CBA program.

Is it difficult to do PGDCA from IGNOU?

TM
Tulsi M Posted On : November 1st, 2022
BSc Physics Majors from University of Mumbai, Graduated 2016

One of my friends had a very bad experience in IGNOU. She applied for CCP which has 6 months of certification but the university allowed 2 years to complete it.

She wanted to complete the course within 6 months so she appeared on all the exams on time. She had to follow up with her professors for project work daily. After she did submit her project, they lost it. After 5-6 months the Delhi branch called to inform her that her project was not good enough. Apart from this episode, she shared more drawbacks she faced:

  • Out of 8-10 classes only 3 were conducted.

  • They took 6-7 months to inform her that the project wasn’t good.

  • She did not receive any books and had to get them personally by visiting the centre 4-5 times

  • They increased the fees suddenly in the second year

She scored 1st division in CCP but did not get the certificate for the same. So it’s not recommended for you to do PGDCA from IGNOU.

Which is better academically preferably CSE and ECE branch NIT Manipur NIT Meghalaya NIT Sikkim NIT Nagalad or Tezpur University?

SM
Samaira Malhotra Posted On : October 1st, 2021
Studied B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Tezpur University (2020)

NIT Meghalaya’s first batch had great placements not just in CSE but also in other branches. It has an awesome faculty and a great campus. Also, the tag of a NITian has a colossal worth.

If you are looking for great job opportunities, NIT Meghalaya and Nagaland will a good choice. But you should not expect dream placements. Tezpur University may offer a few IT offers but it is nowhere near NITs. You will get greater and better exposure in NITs rather than TU. For CSE, NITs have consistently had an edge over other colleges.

Presently, going to the NITs recorded here. The best among them for CS is NIT Meghalaya. The MHRD rankings have as of now shown this reality. NIT Meghalaya is 15th among all NITs, and tops in every one of the 11 new NITs. It has even outflanked NIT Silchar.

Are new IITs (Tirupati and pallakad) good for CSE?

Sapna Malik updated Posted On : January 11th, 2024

I belong to the first CSE batch of IIT Tirupati. We had it rough because of no senior guidance, and a sense of helplessness. But having said that, CSE is all about self effort and dedication. Whatever college you choose, you’ll feel a bit clueless till about your 3rd semester. But to get through, you need dedication and patience.

Now coming to your answer, IIT Tirupati is a good choice for CSE. You should consider this college if you couldn’t get into CSE at the old IITs. The reasons for this are-

  1. Some of the excellent faculty of IIT Madras still take a few core courses at IIT Tirupati.
  2. The CSE lab is well-equipped and Air Conditioned.
  3. The college library remains open till 9 pm.
  4. The hostels are quite nice.

Regardless of the IIT, it is your own efforts and the guidance of your mentors that will lead you towards success in any field.

How is life at NIT Kurukshetra?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : September 2nd, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

One of my friends at NIT Kurukshetra shared his experience while pursuing a BTech in ECE. The initial month was frustrating owing to the miserable mess of food and the language barrier he faced being a South Indian. In the second year, however, he realized that there was more to college life than just food. He discovered some very interesting subjects that fuelled his interest in the field. The third year again brought in some outdated courses however, he held up by exploring the areas of VLSI and Embedded systems.

Additionally, around 5 fests are held in one academic year comprising 3 cultural and 2 technical. These fests are organized by various clubs and societies of the college. You will experience real college life only after participating in and organizing these clubs. So, set your priorities right and make the most of the college life at NIT Kurukshetra.

What will you miss or you are missing after leaving VNIT-Nagpur?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : November 20th, 2023

After leaving VNIT Nagpur, I’ll miss my friends the most.

They are the ones that make both hostel and college life so memorable. They bang on my door early in the morning, and ask me to mark their proxy. They’ve marked my proxy as well, on multiple occasions. We would bunk classes on some days, and motivate each other to attend the lectures on others.

We go to the canteen whenever the mess food is too much to bear. We play cricket, watch IPL together, perform group studies, demand treats from one another, and so much more.

Apart from that, I will miss AXIS, Institute Gathering (the best event at VNIT, as per me), the greenery of our campus, Mechanical Engineering department and Chatterjee sir’s classes, and probably everything else about this college.

I will forever cherish the time spent at this college.

What do pass outs of engineering physics from NIT Calicut do now?

SP
Sunil Patil Posted On : August 27th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP) (2021)

Last year my brother completed his engineering physics from NIT Calicut and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in London. As his batchmates choose different career ways after the completion of the course, here are some of the common options you can consider.

  • Pursue higher studies like MS/Ph.D. in foreign countries like the US, Europe or Australia.
  • If you want to be in India, you can go for higher studies or an integrated Ph.D. in IITs or IISCs, by claiming the PMRF(Prime Minister Research Fellowship).
  • You can choose to sit in the campus recruitment program in the “Any Branch category”.
  • Here you can grab many opportunities such as coding (Eg: Zoho, TCS, Wipro), Data Analytics (Eg: LatentView Analytics), Consultancies (Eg: ZS Associates), Coaching institutes (Eg: TIME, FIITJEE, Topperlearning), Stocks, etc.
  • You can pursue MBA by clearing the CAT exams and going to prestigious institutes of India like IIMs, IIFT, IITs, XLRI, etc.
  • Go for your own startup if you aim to be an entrepreneur.
  • You can also prepare for government service exams like UPSC CSE, State PSC, Bank PO, RBI, etc.

Above mentioned are some of the most common pathways most people follow after completion of engineering from NIT Calicut. It totally depends on your choice of what is your passion and goals in life. Apart from these you can also think out of the box and come up with unique ideas.
