Which one is better, NIT Surathkal ECE or NIT Allahabad CSE?
As an outsider to both these colleges, I have provided below an unbiased comparison of both-
- Campus- The campus of NIT Surathkal is better than NIT Allahabad. It has a private beach of its own and a much more beautiful infrastructure.
- Placements- The placements for CSE from NIT Allahabad are better than ECE from NIT Surathkal. This is because CSE has better placements at present. During the 2023 placement season,CSE department of NIT Allahabad recorded 94.47 % placements of eligible students, with an average CTC of INR 27.57 LPA. The highest CTC stood at 1.35 CPA.
As for the ECE department of NIT Surathkal, the electrical and electronics departments recorded the highest CTC of 32.16 LPA during the 2022 placement season.
- Student Background- NIT Surathkal comprises mostly South Indian students (50% state reservation), while NIT Allahabad will offer you a North Indian crowd.
Both the institutions are good. It is your personal preference which you should consider while making your decision.
Would you chose Ashoka University or IIM Indore's IPM programme?
You don't have much of a problem if your interests are in the sciences or literature and you don't have a preference for business or management. Clearly, Ashoka is the superior choice. In a similar vein, IIMI is the better choice if business/management or their related fields are of interest to you. Although neither is firmly established, Ashoka offers a more liberal arts university environment while IIMI offers a more business school environment due to the inherent structures of the programs and institutes. Because it is a liberal arts course, the IPM course is fairly nuanced. The Ashoka courses are no exception, particularly those in economics and finance.
IPM's undergraduate program has no concept of "major" or specialization, just like the MBAs at IIMs. Math, statistics, economics, social sciences, and communication are all required subjects. In the end, Ashoka is a liberal arts college and IIMI is a business school. Even the most widely studied subject, economics, will be taught and learned very differently in each location. Again, you'll have to decide which you like best.
It's conceivable that Ashoka has the resources to send you to Ph.D. programs. Given the substantial alumni presence in business, IPM might be better able to place you in professional settings. Having said that, they are not mutually exclusive; you can pursue a Ph.D. after IIMI or an MBA after Ashoka.
Which IIIT should I choose for CS/IT, Gwalior, Kota, Vadodara or Lucknow?
IIITM-Gwalior is the best choice to opt and if you are getting it, grab the opportunity. It is the oldest IIT of India with its own campus spread over 160+ acres and is totally funded by MHRD. The institute has a decent placement with the average package for M.Tech was around 10.5 LPA. In MBA, the highest was 15 LPA.
If you're not getting IIIT Gwalior, then the order should be as follows: IIIT Lucknow > IIIT Vadodara > IIIT Kota.
IIIT Lucknow was recently established and is making good progress and the placement records are good. If one has to choose between IIIT- Kota or IIIT- Vadodara or IIIT- Lucknow, choose IIIT-Lucknow any day!
IIIT Vadodara doesn’t own a permanent campus but it is known for its coding culture and the placement statistics are far better. Also, final-year students do get an opportunity for an internship to work in Amazon.
IIIT Kota is in the beautiful campus of MNIT, Jaipur spread in an area of 329 acres.
Want to have a fulfilling college life in the sense you want to enjoy being part of a college fest.
The factors which used for ordering the above institutes are:
- Year of the establishment.
- Placements records
- Whether to have permanent campuses or not
- Funding mode
- Connectivity with the neighboring cities
Hence, before opting for any college just ask yourself, in which field or stream you want to get into so that you don’t regret it later. As 4 years duration is not too little to give and graduating from a reputed college with good placement and tag plays a vital role in your upcoming future.

Which college is better for the GATE/startup aspirants Acropolis Indore or LNCT Bhopal?
Both Acropolis Indore and LNCT Bhopal are reputed engineering colleges in Central India. Here are some points to help you decide which college would be better for GATE/startup aspirants:

How good is K J Somaiya compared to GIM?
K J Somaiya Institute of Management and Goa Institute of Management are equal when compared with each other. Though there are certain things that differ between both like the fees which are cheaper in GIM than K J Somaiya. Being in Mumbai, K J Somaiya is observed by many companies due to its location. Frequent industry visits are conducted for the students of K J Somaiya. Also, students get internships from the various companies situated nearby.

Both the institutes have a good reputation and each year students take admission in these according to their choice and data available. However, K J Somaiya Institute of Management is better than the Goa Institute of Management. But it is also lacking in many points. Therefore, you can take admission to any of these institutes. But K J Somaiya Institute of Management is better in terms of placement and has the rest of the facilities.
Which is better for CSE: NIE Mysore, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering or Sir MVIT?
My sister took her CSE degree from NIE Mysore. It seems to be the better between the two. Here's why:
- The placement rate is good. It was 97% this year, compared to DSCE's 75%. Sir MVIT matches the placement rate of NIE but the reputation of NIE is stronger in the industry.
- NIE has an excellent infrastructure as well. It has worked on its expansion into an ultra-modern design in the past 5 years and has incorporated excellent facilities for sports and academic development.
The location of Mysore can be great to explore. Do not think that it's a small city, it has all the amenities and recreational and professional sites you'd need to work as an engineer. Apart from the 3 malls, you will discover plenty of places to explore during the 4 years of your academic life.
Which to select from NIT Warangal or IIT Mandi/ IIT Patna?
Rather than giving you a specific answer, I will be commenting on individual parameters. This is because most of the aforementioned institutes are similar in terms of education, placements, and opportunities. So it’s best to consider their uniqueness and align them with your preferences

Which one would you choose for studying law: UPES, Dehradun or KIIT, Bhubaneshwar? Why would you choose it?
You should choose KIIT Bhubaneswar for studying Law. It is older and more reputed. On an overall scale, it is better than UPES, Dehradun. Placement will depend on your interest. For Judiciary careers, KIIT Bhubaneswar offers more exposure and opportunities. Few law firms also take part in campus placements. The highest CTC offered in KIIT Bhubaneswar placements is around INR 7 LPA. UPES offers better opportunities in corporate law.
Which is better, CUSAT or IISER?
If you are a true science lover, then IISERs are the best option for you. Although institutes like IISc, NISER, CEBS, IACS, and a few IITs, also offer similar science-oriented degrees IISERs resources, exposure, and research culture are second to none.
IISERs offer a 5 year integrated BS-MS degree which helps avoid the hassle of applying for a Bachelor’s and a Master’s separately.
So, if you are a research enthusiast and want to pursue a long-term educational program to fuel your passion, then IISERs will serve you best. However, CUSAT can be considered if you are looking for a course or opportunity that is unique to CUSAT only.
