What is the latest program that you are offering in your department? Which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We are offering Exposure to Cutting Edge Technology like Total Station, Lumion and Auto-DCR, and Pre-DCR with the regular curriculum of Civil Engineering. Students will be introduced to industrial processes that are meant to enhance their employability skills, learning how to be a professional engineer in the context of their academic learning, and become a more compatible graduate.


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt? 

As long as humans exist, the demand of building roads, houses, transportation, sewerage, canals, bridges, and dams are going to be structured. Therefore, you can be rest assured that civil engineers are never going to be jobless either in their present or in the future.


What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

We prepare the students as per industrial demands. Students may come up against several issues, barriers and challenges in their career.


What are some valuable insights from the program that you are offering at your department?

Some valuable insights from the program that we are offering in our departments are: VALUE ADDED PROGRAMME, Total Station, Lumion, AutoDCR- and PreDCR.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Nowadays, online mode of building planning permission is in practice and AutoDCR and PreDCR practice is necessary. Project-based learning is the program to ensure that students are being prepared for the future.


How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Regular faculty development program (FDP), seminar and workshop to enhance the subjective knowledge of faculty. The use of multimedia and interaction with students make lectures more effective and interesting- this is how we should train ourselves or any faculty to deliver this program to the students. 


How do you tend to build an industry connection with this program?

By Inviting prominent personalities for expert talks from industries, workshops, industry visits,and industrial training for students.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

No problems can be faced in the terms of execution during the introduction of this program. Little effort is required to convince the parents and students of the benefits of this career-oriented program.
