Dr. Sandeep Jhamb is working as a head of mechanical department at Arya Group of Colleges, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He is an active research scholar in the field of development of bio-composite materials pursuing PhD. He has 13 years of industrial experience in the area of Project planning, execution, manufacturing, production and supply chain. He has more than 7 years of experience in teaching and expertise in Manufacturing Technology, Machine and Machine Tool and Metrology. He has published more than 10 research papers in International and National Journals and Conferences. He is an associate member of institute of engineers, charter engineer and Certified supply chain management executive.
What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

Being the HOD of the Electrical Engineering Department, my roles & responsibility are as follows:
- To impart quality education to students to make them competent mechanical engineers and responsible citizens.
- To provide facilities and environment conducive to scholarly growth, employability, higher studies, and research.
- To prepare students for successful careers and lifelong learning with strong professional ethics and behavior.
How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
“By giving them an open environment to communicate”
For a healthy relationship with students, I make sure to take some time out of a busy schedule for them to visit my office where they can openly discuss their problems, doubts be it regarding the concept that they don’t understand or some personal issues. Coming to fellow faculty, maintaining a good rapport and disciplined behavior, sharing academic activities and good interaction and getting along are some of the practices which I generally follow.
How do you introduce practical and industry-oriented approaches towards subjects?
“Through industrial collaboration and trainings”
To impart practical learning to students we have collaborated with CAD Centre, Jaipur to train our students in the most important software like AutoCAD, Solid works, Pro-E and Ansys for improving the designing skills of the students. The students of the department have successfully completed a large number of projects under the guidance of qualified faculties.
How do you help your student to cope up with the competitive world?
“By encouraging them to bring out of the box ideas on the floor”
At Arya College, we have formed ACME (Arya Club of Mechanical Engineers). The club includes the faculty members and students of the mechanical department. Under this club various events and workshops are performed like ESVC. In addition to this, we have collaborated with the Imperial Society of Innovative engineers (ISIE) and various other organizations for the development of the students.

To achieve this vision, our students are imparted with the advanced knowledge of both theoretical and practical concepts for a better understanding of the areas.

The department has a well equipped and state of the art laboratory with latest machinery and equipment to fulfill the requirement of the RTU and also provide the students for research work. The department has best labs like: Material Science and Technology Lab, Mechanical Workshop lab, Robotics Lab, Thermal Engineering Lab etc. The existing strengths can be improved by employing highly qualified faculty and lab instructors who can impart quality and practical education to the students.
