Mr. Badsha Bora is the HOD, Automobile Engineering at the SCM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kolkata. He has done B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from MCKV Institute of Engineering. He has experience of over six years in the academic field. He has won several awards in the automotive industry regarding the demonstration of the future of the Automobile Industry of India.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

"The faculty members work towards the development of the students and their careers"

I am personally inclined towards the education of my students and I guide them to excel in the future. I make my students ready for the Government examinations. I make them aware of the various lines of careers available for them. We conduct seminars in order to explain to the students regarding different colleges for higher education so that the students know which college is better for them. 

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and faculty members?

"I maintain great contact over meetings, get together and discuss issues for the welfare of the students"

Maintaining relationships with the students and fellow faculty members is of utmost importance for the overall development of the organization. In case there are issues, I sort them out on a personal level at the earliest so that they don’t multiply. There exists a mutual relationship between the growth of faculty and students which ultimately leads to organizational development.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students to develop their skills? 

"The department offers training and development to the students"

Our college provides learning and skill enhancement classes to the students during their course tenure. This helps them develop the talent necessary to clear interviews. We provide information through seminars and events conducted in our organization which provide the pathways to new learnings.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated?

"Our college curriculum is provided and stated by the state council"

We plan the time and schedule for seminars and industry training so as to benefit the students. In case any student misses classes, we provide backup classes so that they don’t miss on the knowledge gaining part. The entire faculty works for the development of the students.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education?

"Higher education adds a feather in one's cap"

As per my personal opinion, if a student gets a good job after course completion, he/she should go for the job and learn things in the corporate life. Once the hands-on experience is gained, the employee should go for a higher degree so as to attain higher levels in corporate life. 

How do you help your student to cope up with the competitive world?

"Courses taught in this organization are meant for students to clear competition" 

For placement, our alumni members provide assistance through the companies in which they have been working. In today’s world, there is a huge competition and the students need to cope up and outperform others to excel in the corporate environment. However, competition has to be faced by all in order to climb up the success ladder.

What valuable advice would you like to give students to have a prosperous career ahead? 

"Students need to groom themselves with the knowledge and necessary skills"

The students must demonstrate seriousness towards their life and they must work for it. Knowledge is the ultimate power in life and so students are the raw mud and they need to be shaped accordingly with the skills and talent set. One must learn to be capable at work and success will follow till eternity.
