Being a Faculty of the ECE Department, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

"I need to represent my college on various forums, address and solve students queries and assist teaching assistant"

As an Assistant Professor of the ECE Department, my job is a bit challenging but very satisfactory in the end. And I am responsible for representing our college in different conferences, providing academic support to my students, attending faculty and departmental meetings and voicing concerns or providing suggestions for improvement. Apart from this, developing professional logistics to improvise students' performance, guiding and mentoring students for their research projects, evaluating, and monitoring students academic progress, creating and implementing career-enhancement programs and activities for students' overall development, supervising and supporting teaching assistants also comes under the scope of my responsibilities. And I am very active on phone and email to proactively address students and faculty members issues and resolve them on time.

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

"Our aim of developing and establishing a good education environment for students in Jharkhand"

The biggest strength of our institute in my opinion is our goal and purpose of accelerating, developing and establishing a good education system for students and youths of our society. In addition to this, we aspire to recruit excellent trainers to train students on real life skills and make them ready for the outside world. And the only way to enhance our strength is that we should believe in the capabilities and potential of our teaching and non-teaching staff.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach the students?

"We all use an amalgamation of teaching techniques to train our students beyond books"

To educate our students beyond curriculum, our faculties use a perfect blend of different teaching-learning methodologies. And to start with, they first explore students' areas of interests and then adjust their educational pedagogies as the academic needs of each student are completely different from one another. After this, our teachers follow the concept of explicit instruction to properly address students academic and non-academic queries and issues and resolve them on time.

"Our college upskill faculty members through various training programs"

In order to enhance the competencies of our faculty members and upgrade their soft skills, interpersonal skills and counseling skills, in line with today's industrial and academic standards, our college organize a wide variety of training programs and encourage them to learn latest technologies and tools so that they can deliver best content to our students.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practices of industry?

"By involving our teachers, students and industry people in its review and implementation phase"

We draft the curriculum by keeping in mind various important aspects and that is how we can increase employability skills in our students through our courses. And we also take inputs from our highly qualified faculty members about the usefulness and effectiveness of existing study materials, and from students about the engagement level of curriculum, efforts they need to put in to learn important subjects concepts. Lastly, we involve Technical Professionals and industry representatives to review and examine the curriculum and suggest necessary improvements as per latest industrial development and requirements.

When you joined CEC Institute, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

How do you prepare your students to deal with the outside competitive world?

"By conducting self-reflection programs and providing them intertwined study-work opportunities"

For the purpose of preparing our students to confidently face the outside competitive world, we regularly organize self-awareness programs, make objectives clear at the start of any session or regular classes, provide them work-integrated learning opportunities and expose them to real world opportunities. In addition to this, we encourage them to learn from their mistakes and ask them to try new things by coming out of their comfort zones and without the fear of failure because failures are a part of life and not life itself.
