“Stay dedicated, focused and committed to your skills, and work hard on it”, Mr. Souma Guha Mallick advices students

Born in Chandannagar, West Bengal, in the year 1992, Mr. Souma Guha Mallick is currently acting as the Vice-Chairman of Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions (SKFGI).

Soon after completing his M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad in 2016, he joined SKFGI and became devoted to contributing in its progress giving up the lucrative career and green grass elsewhere in the country and abroad. He is currently pursuing his study of Ph. D degree from Jadavpur University and thus balancing his research and administrative work at SKFGI.

Mr. Souma Guha Mallick’s experience in the education industry

Education is the key to the progress of any country. The founders of SKFGI make an effort to add a small drop in the ocean by imparting education to a small fraction of the entire youth population of India. The feeling of the contentment and joy we have whenever our alumni come to us and share their story of how they rise in their life in the industry makes us the entire family of SKFGI worship education.

Quality of education in Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions

Since the first day, we have tried to maintain the strictness, discipline and quality in education at our institute. Our spacious and updated labs have been designed under the supervision of professors from reputed national institutes. We have qualified faculty members. In our activities beyond the curriculum, we invite industry experts and corporate leaders at regular intervals to share their experiences with the teachers and students of the Institute and conduct various workshops and training for the students. In addition, we act as IIT Bombay's Remote Center under NMEICT mission of MHRD to improve the teaching skills of the faculties. We also take pride in being IIT Bombay's Spoken Tutorial Nodal Center.

School culture or climate at Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions

Barrier-free lush green sprawling campus away from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by greeneries, spacious well-lit classrooms, spacious and updated laboratories, playgrounds, qualified and friendly faculties, cultural, literature and sports club, NSS committee and our enthusiastic students together complete the positive culture at SKFGI.

Curriculum at Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions

We believe that the individuals should not only develop themselves in academics but also, in order to strengthen their inner self, excel in the other spheres of life as well. To encourage sports and physical activities, we have a fulltime in-campus Sports Officer who monitors the sports activities at SKFGI. The playgrounds at SKFGI facilitate various outdoor and indoor sports and every year we organize both inter- and intra-college Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Kho Kho, Badminton, Volleyball tournaments along with Annual Sports Event within the Campus.

The other aspect is the cultural activities for which we have a Cultural Club, which encourages and nurtures talents in performing arts. We organize several activities around the year on various occasions. The Cultural Club of SKFGI has established itself so well that our students of the Club are invited to exhibit their performing arts at the events organized by the Government organizations and NGOs of repute. We also organize national and international conferences and technology exhibitions around the year.

In order to make themselves socially aware, our students are also motivated to participate in NSS activities every week. Under this program, they carry out cleanliness campaigns and awareness programs; teach underprivileged students, visit orphanage and old age homes along with their offers.

Goals in mind for SKFGI

In order to maintain the quality of our institute, we are primarily focusing on ways to develop new teaching techniques along with innovation in the methodology. To ensure the standard, we are trying to get our courses NBA and NAAC accredited. Our Graduation courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering have already been NBA accredited.

Mr. Souma Guha Mallick‘s relationship with the students

At every stage of my life, starting from my pre-school days, till date I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with teachers who have not only provided me with the best known but also uplifted and motivated me and helped me reach this position. I, thus feel that every student has some strength but he or she needs to be introduced to it along with motivation. We, thus, have an environment where students can freely approach any teacher at any point in time even after academic hours. If necessary teachers stay beyond the Institute hours to teach our students. Our teachers also take part in sports and cultural activities with our students to enthuse them.

Growth of students through placement opportunities available at SKFGI

The alumni speak of the opportunities available at SKFGI. It is just eight years since SKFGI was founded and within this short span, the alumni now consist of Scientists, Researchers, Entrepreneurs, Government Officials, Corporate Officials and Engineers working at reputed organizations in the country and abroad. Apart from getting our students placed in various renowned corporate houses, industries and laboratories, we promote research and higher studies as well. We enjoy an MOU with CSIR-CEERI, Pilani and have collaborations with the central government institutions and R&D labs where our students can be part of their live projects and research.

Suggestions for the current youth and the aspiring students

Today, any field of study is vast and diverse. Each course offered by an institute will provide a youth with various career opportunities. As a graduating/post graduating student, you have to have certain skill sets to join a particular organization but these skills need to be increased and diversified every day to climb up the ladder in your respective field. One last suggestion would be for you to stay dedicated, focused and committed to your skills and thus work hard on it.
