What are your roles and responsibilities as a faculty towards the students?

“Help students in their academic as well as personal problems”

We have a culture where we encourage our students to clear their doubts. Hence students can come to our office and clear their doubts anytime. Apart from this we also have to run projects for the students to help them gain necessary skills. Another responsibility that we take is the responsibility of the students.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Encourage students to ask more doubts”

I ask my students to treat me as their friend and guide, not as a formal teacher. I encourage them to share their problems. I am also their advisor in institute hence, I always share friendly bonds with the students so that they do not hesitate in sharing their problems.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competitive wrd?

“Focus on developing the skills of students”

Apart from the teaching and learning process we focus significantly on developing skills of students through various societies, activities and drives. We conduct various sessions like Group Discussion, innovation drives to groom students for the interview process. We organise particular training courses that have a significant influence on student placement and employability. We also hold interactive sessions with our alumni, who provide useful feedback for the interview.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Understand your area of interest and plan your career accordingly”

For final year engineering students we have collaborated with companies of various industries which they join for internship process and gain necessary skills. There they go and practice in the companies and gain exposure to the real life work and corporate culture which they have to face after their studies. It helps them to gain a better understanding of their work.

What valuable advice would you like to give students to have a prosperous career ahead?

“Be honest and put your heart and soul in your work”

If you have patience, dedication, and determination, you will receive your reward in due time. Instead of allowing criticism and suggestions to damage your feelings, use them to help you improve professionally. Punctuality is really important everywhere. When you are early, you are on time; but, when you are on time, you are late.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

“Have a clear understanding of the subject”

I teach Physics in the Applied Science department. I believe that physics is the basic building block of engineering. Most of the fundamentals of physics are applied in engineering hence, it is very important for students to have a clear understanding of Physics. While teaching the subject our prime focus is to explain the concept as well as the scope and application of the concept, so that when they read the application of the subject in engineering subjects, they can connect it with the theories and concepts which they have read earlier in their previous classes.
