Dr. Vidhya Balasubramaniyam is a Director in the PPG Business School, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She did PG certificate in Counseling Psychology from Institute for Human Relations, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Vellore, completed M.phil and Doctorate in Business Administration. She has worked in various capacities including HoD with a focus on Business Administration and Management. She has more than 20 years of experience in academics and the corporate world. Her approach to teaching is values-based, holistic and appreciative. How do you establish a healthy relationship and environment in your college?

We focus on developing independent and creative thinkers on campus. Our campus gives a spirit of self-direction, and encourages students to share knowledge with each other. We always promote them to work in groups and emphasize the importance of teamwork. Students need to engage with each other on research, case studies, assignments, or other course-related work. Hence, they arrive at solutions to face real-life problems. 

What is your philosophy of leadership in PPG Business School, Coimbatore?

“Encourage students, faculties and give the right environment on campus”

We can make our institution shine by encouraging students, and faculties. My leadership style is to give a right environment for all and achieve betterment of campus. I always seek the opinion of experts for several fields and develop the skills of both faculties or students. One of my beliefs is that a combination of skills makes a well-refined professional. I strongly rely on right leadership and encouragement is the way to good performance. 

How do you strategize the curriculum and get updated to the students?

“Design the campus curriculum as per learning and problem-solving with industry needs”

I believe to formulate the programme according to knowledge-building and employment opportunities. We design the curriculum by emphasis on learning and problem-solving. The out-bound training activities in campus offer professional training, and refine soft skills of pupils.
