We upgrade the skills of our faculty members through Faculty Development Programs and events like workshops and seminars. We have also signed MOUs with reputed industries and organizations to help us understand their requirements and accordingly update our faculties knowledge and college infrastructure and education quality. 


How do you build an industry connectedness with these programs?

"By upgrading the subject syllabus regularly to incorporate industry demands and development"

For the purpose of building an industry connectedness we structure our programs in such a way that it can give a perfect blend of theoretical and practical knowledge to students. We organise practical sessions and also offer value-added courses to students on a regular basis to help them understand which skills would be required for them to work in a corporate world. Lastly, we encourage students to learn different concepts and courses through the NPTEL platform.


On what kind of projects students generally work under these courses?

"Our students work on real time industry projects in addition to Hackathons projects"

As per the curriculum, students are assigned two mini-projects in 3rd year and project topics are generally of their own choice. And in the final year, a major project is assigned to them. In addition to this, we encourage them to work on industry oriented projects through internships and ask them to participate in project expos and Hackathon to innovate solutions for actual world issues.

Being the Department Head, I need to ensure that classes and labs are conducted smoothly as per timetable and lecture plans. I also need to make sure that labs are well-resourced with the latest equipment and consumables for the smooth conduct of experiments.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"By being a good mediator between them and addressing their queries and issues on time"

Being the Head of Department, I act as a liaison between management and faculty members of our department. And I ensure a healthy relationship with my students by addressing and resolving their academic queries on time, by introducing new programs and courses as per industry standards to make it beneficial for them in the long run. When it comes to faculty, I make available my full support and guidance to make them capable enough to do Research and Development (R&D) in new technologies with social relevance or industry needs. I also ensure that whatever concepts are taught to students, they understand it fully. Lastly, special attention is given to those students who find it difficult to learn new things.


Which best practices are offered by the department to the students to help them gain necessary skills?

"Events like seminars, conferences are organized and students also participate in coding competition like Hackathons"

We encourage our students to learn things by doing and to participate in the Internal Hackathon as part of smart India Hackathon which is generally organized by AICTE. By participating in these Hackathons, students try to discover creative and innovative ideas for some real world issues and it utilizes their existing skills and helps them to build new one as well. In addition to this, events like symposiums and conferences are organized by us to make them aware about the latest industrial development and demands and it boosts their confidence by removing fear of public speaking.
