What is your leadership philosophy?

“I believe in teamwork and hence provide equal opportunities to everyone to learn and grow”

What I have understood in my experience till date is that a leader is considered a good leader if he thinks about the growth and comfort of his colleagues as well. I believe in a humanitarian attitude of leadership and it should be participative in nature. I always ensure that the dignity and self-esteem of each and every person must be respected. As a leader and a faculty, it is my duty to provide quality education to my students and it should be updated regularly.

What are the key factors that keeps you connected with the education sector?

Continuous thrust for learning and passion to educate youths of our society are the key factors”

Teaching and research are my passions. Education along with health is the key factor to determine the quality of human capital that rests with any nation including India. Being a professor, I endeavor to contribute to the creation of capable human capital who can solve problems and create value in our socio-economic and cultural environment. This idea keeps me enthused and engaged with the learning environment.

What activities do you conduct to evaluate the learnings of your students?

“We provide a wide variety of assessments to our students to test their learnings and identify the gaps where we need to focus more”

Myself referring curriculum of Stanford University for problem-solving technology to students. Before entering into every semester we are giving the boot camp for every student so that students have to design a small prototype because they should know what are the problems they are facing in the day to day life. Based on the prototype we have to evaluate the students before entering into each semester.

How do you establish a healthy relation and environment in your college?

It is done through social programs and counseling sessions where an open platform is provided to students and faculties to put forward their issues”

In our institution, students come from various backgrounds and we have to address all the problems that they are facing. Some students find it difficult to deliver the content even if they possess good theoretical knowledge and analytical skill. So it’s our duty to understand, analyze the problem so that students can be properly counselled. This highlights the point that there should be no gap between the faculty and the students to maintain a healthy environment on the campus.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We are in process of providing various growth opportunities for students”

We have developed multiple research and technology cells where students are guided and given adequate support to do multiple projects, how the technology developed by them can be turned into a business. We are also planning to start online certification courses while keeping the current situation in mind.

How do you bring in a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

“Special classes blended with lots of experiments are conducted on regular basis”

The students go through sessions of basics and the latest trends in the culinary field. There are many workshops conducted by Chefs from the Industry. For every subject students undergo the mini project or labs if they do the lab properly they are also getting to know about the new emerging technologies in the world.

How does your college prepare students for placements?

“We offer various technical and professional training programs to students from the 2nd year itself”

From the second year itself, we give the training to the students. To crack interviews and enter into the corporate world, most of the students have to clear aptitude first. Now everyone is adapting the AMCAT pattern for the interview process so if we give the training from the third semester definitely the student will have to get the knowledge. Also, we are preparing them for national-level eligibility tests and preparing them for the GATE examination.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

“It is prepared and updated regularly after faculties and corporate expert’s suggestions and feedback”

Every four years, we update the curriculum and we also take feedback from the small scale and medium scale industries from Coimbatore. Based on the experts from the industries and the faculties as well as our alumni, we are updating the curriculum.

What extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of the students?

“Students are provided with lots of opportunities to explore their interest areas and we emphasis on creating entrepreneurship instead of job-seekers”

We are conducting the center of entrepreneurship development program because EDC is giving funding to the institution. Also because everyone should be aware of all the exams available for grad students like IAS and IPS, we are giving career guidance to the students that apart from core companies or software you have so many opportunities to make a good career. We are also teaching them about entrepreneurship, startup ideas and how did they grow, etc.

What challenges did you face to uplift the quality of education of your college?

“To make everyone ready as per the always-changing industry demands and challenges”

In our time we did not have enough guidance. Only parents provided the guidance according to their experience and knowledge. Nowadays students have consultants, counsellors, TV, newspapers and digital media, etc. Coming to the challenges which we faced in our institute includes updating everyone from teachers to students to make them ready to combat upcoming challenges in the technology and in the corporate world as well and every student learns and grows at a different pace so somewhere we have to adjust our teaching methodologies also according to that.
