Dr. Manisha Choudhary is the Dean at Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur. She has a strong research interest in Competency Mapping, Quality of work Life, and Entrepreneurship. She has been honoured with multiple awards including Dr. C.V Raman award for the contribution in Research in 2020, Loyalty and Excellence Award by VGU in the year 2016, 2017 and 2018. What is the program that you are offering in your institute for students' benefit?

“Experiential learning, NPTEL and other prominent online courses”

We are running management courses with maximum specialisation. We persuade our MBA and BBA students to enrol in the NPTEL (National Programme on Technical Enhanced Learning) and Coursera programmes, as these are credit-based. This enables them to acquire both the necessary theoretical knowledge and the practical skills for application. Instead of just reading about it, we ensure the students have hands-on experience. To clear up any doubts students may have, the industrial visits are arranged for them. By using these methods, students ensure that they understand the topics well enough to apply them.

What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your institute?

The curriculum is updated on a regular basis to keep it current with market trends and technological improvements. We begin soft skills training for students from the very first semester, such as presentations and group discussions as well.

How did you train yourself and the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Depending on the students' interests, we have three ways of delivering the programme. Lecture is the first method, followed by interaction, and lastly, recording and sharing videos with students. Students can access lectures and ppt at the same time so that they can clarify their doubts.

What approach do you have for the placement of the students in your college?

Placement is a crucial aspect of any MBA programme. The institution would offer a wide range of courses, and students would gain valuable experience through projects. During the placements, however, the practical applications of these courses are put to the test. Until now, we have been successful at placing students by improving their overall personality.

We offer many extracurricular activities for students to enhance their skills. A holistic approach to education aims to bring together the mind, body, and spirit. How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?

“Industry visits and field work are an integral part of the courses”

According to each student's interest and specialisation, we schedule at least two industry visits every semester. During this time, they write reports about each aspect of the industry, which gives them a good understanding of how it operates.
