What latest programs are you offering that helps students outperform?
“Technical learning and approved mock courses”
We are offering the NPTEL-National Program on Technical Enhanced Learning program. Under this, students learn not only the theory but also acquire the necessary practical application-based skills as well in the curriculum itself. As the Institute is affiliated to RTU Kota University, we also have provisions to weigh the credits of NPTEL courses, and if the student scores 20 credits, they are awarded the B.Tech Honors Degree. We are also offering “Coursera and Edex” platform Mock courses free of cost to our students to make them outperform and stand apart from the crowd.
What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?
“Practical focus and digital learning”
We always try to develop and follow a model to make our student’s industry ready at every step of their graduation. We ensure that the students are getting hands-on experience and not only chalk and talk. To solve their doubts, if any, students are taken to the laboratories for a practical explanation of the same. These practices ensure that students understand the taught concepts well enough to apply. Also, we have a smart campus where we have access to digital learning and students can access classes within one hour of being delivered.
What are some valuable insights of the program at your department?
“Adapting to more efficient pedagogy”
As a teacher and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, we personally explore and implement all the ways of effective teaching. We have three methods to deliver the program based on the interest of the students. First is the classroom lecture teaching-learning method, second is the one-to-one interaction method and the last is recording the videos and sharing the same with students. As we are also following the AICTE PRERNA Program, we do the same exercise for the ST students in the nearby region. Even experiments are available live so that students can clear their doubts simultaneously, and they are available in the form of recording as well.
How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?
“Enriching student skills and knowledge”
For the bright future of the students, it is required that they are being equipped with the necessary relevant skills with time. We have a teaching-learning and mentoring model according to which as soon as the students complete their education in 4 years’ time, they should be employable or ready to pursue higher studies. We start the soft skills training like presentations, group discussions, etc. for the students from the 3rd semester itself so that the students are well prepared by the time of placements.

How did you train your faculty to deliver this program to the students?
“Short-term courses and training activities”
As a Teacher and Mentor, I personally feel that we should keep ourselves updated with new technical skills, knowledge, concepts, topics, etc. This is at par necessary for the holistic development of a student. For this, we tend to attend and organize FDP’s and Short-Term Training Programs of subject interest and related fields. We also opt for mock courses semester wise as a learner and follow all requirements to achieve good grades under the same.
How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?
“Integrating relevant activities and on-campus training”
We mentor the students from day one regarding their areas of interest. We provide Campus Recruitment Training, Soft Skill Training, Interactions with industrial experts to make them industry-ready. We also facilitate them in providing internship and placement opportunities available in the Public and Private sector both. On a regular basis, we conduct seminars, workshops, industrial visits, and guest lectures from several reputed organizations like Royal Enfield, NBC Jaipur, Eicher Engine Division, NTPC, Thermal Power Plant, etc.
How do you enhance the skills of the students and expose them to the real world?
“Providing wider approaches to differential learning”
We have Student clubs such as the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Mechanical Workshop Club in Mechanical Engineering. Under this, we at Vivekananda Global University organize several events such as an Engine overhauling workshop, sessions by Automobile and Mechanical Industrial experts, Project Exhibitions and Competitions, hands-on workshops, etc. Also, we follow a blended learning model wherein the students can be well-groomed with the theory knowledge, understanding of the concepts and interact with teachers and faculty.
