Collegedunia Team: What was your CAT percentile? Did you avail reservation benefits for Management Development Institute PGDM Admission?

Anirban: Yes, my CAT percentile in the 2021 examination was 77. As I am from the General category, so did not avail any reservation benefits.

Collegedunia Team: Can you please describe your Pre MBA Academic Performance for Collegedunia readers?

Anirban: I had 86.43% in the class 10 board exams and secured 69.40% in the 12 board exams. Also, passed out from Serampore College with 62.63% makrs.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Anirban: There was no GD round, the selected students were directly interviewed. 

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Anirban: The mode of interview was online and generally each lasted for around 20 minutes. There were a total of 5 panels and had 2 faculties in each panel.

And yes, the interview was a bit on the technical side owing to my background of masters in Economics.

My mantra to crack the interview was to stay calm, don't rush, take a pause and answer the questions. It is absolutely ok not to know an answer. If you do not know an answer do not beat around the bush. Be straightforward with your approach. 

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in MDI Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Anirban: The following questions were asked during the interview:

Ques 1. Why MDI Murshidabad?

Ans. I answered with my reasons for choosing MDI which included the brand name of the college, location preference and excellent career opportunity.

Ques 2. What is Regression Analysis?

Ans. I told them that a statistics book will answer it better although I explained it quite well and the interviewer was satisfied.

Ques 3. Explain U-shaped Labour Curve?

Ans. I was able to answer this question with confidence as well. 

Ques 4. Your hobbies?

Ans. I told them my hobbies that included Aquascaping, Aquaponics, Xeriscaping. 

Ques 5. What specialisation and why ?

Ans. I answered them that I haven't decided yet, and kept all options open. I also told them that my preference would be Finance.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Anirban: So my best choice was MDI over other colleges because of the excellent ROI. It had the advantage of Brand value. Moreover, location was also another reason for choosing the college as it was a plus point.

Anirban: Based on my CAT score, I converted all the colleges I gave Interview. My suggestion would be, Be Yourself and Be Confident.
