Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Srishti Sukirti: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Srishti Sukirti: “The GD was held in an offline setting. Firstly I was asked to attest and submit all the xerox copies of my academic credentials after verifying with the original documents. Thereon, aspirants on the GD day were divided into different panels, and each panel consists of 10-12 students. The GD began with revealing the topic and 2 minutes was granted to think over it and jot down (not necessary) the points you want to speak about in a notepad facilitated by them. Following that, each student was given one minute to speak in front of the two moderators and the entire panel. After this round, the moderators requested that the group talks begin, which lasted around 10 minutes. It was indeed a soft and healthy discussion as most of them were agreeing on common points. The GD came to a close with a closing note, and then WAT began for around 5 minutes on the same issue. We were instructed to write the main points and conclusion of the entire debate on an A4 sheet with more than half of the blank space available to write on. With this, the GD came to a close, and I was really pleased with my performance. My prior knowledge of the subject, backed up by statistical data, enabled me to make new arguments. That day, I believe my reading habits of the previous year were worthwhile.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Srishti Sukirti: "The topic of my WAT/GD was "Should all government subsidies be abolished or not"”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Srishti Sukirti: “I spoke in support of the motion, arguing that eliminating subsidies is not a good alternative because they are intended to help the poor. Subsidies should not be eliminated in order to close the gap between the rich and the poor. Even while the current scrolling news exposes many examples of its misuse, entirely eliminating it is not a viable choice. Instead, regardless of religion or caste distribution, it should be awarded based on specified factors of the family's economic level. Other resources, such as LPG cylinder subsidies and food subsidies, must be allocated in such a way that they are wisely utilized by the entire community.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Srishti Sukirti: “Following the GD, the personal interview process was held on the same day. Every candidate must also participate in the PI round. Simultaneously, two panels for the personal interview were set up, each with two members from the institute's faculty. For around 15 minutes, I was interrogated. I was anxious at first, but it did not turn into a stressful situation because I was able to confidently answer the most of their questions. A Personal Interview, in my opinion, is more than just a test of your knowledge. I was focused on my gesture, seating posture, and etiquette towards my interviewer, in addition to demonstrating my talents and knowledge level.”
