Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Raghav Luthra: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Raghav Luthra: “Eight members participated in the GD at MDI Gurgaon with two moderators. After two minutes of thought on the subject, four members competed to start the GD, including myself. Two participants attempted to communicate but were unable to do so. It wasn't the gentle one, of course; it was more akin to a fish market in the GD. All were highly aggressive, except two members of the gd.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Raghav Luthra: "Tightening H-1B visa rules - Is it Fair?”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Raghav Luthra: “I began the GD by stating the following points in support of the topic:

Since they are subsidised by their businesses and regarded as cheap labour, H-1B employees are underpaid and in some cases harassed by their employers.

IT companies in the United States, especially those based in India, are hiring graduates from developing countries because they work for lower wages than their American counterparts. As a result, Americans are subjected to discrimination. As a result, many of America's brightest young people are unemployed.

After a few years, H-1B visa holders are more likely to return to their home countries and contribute nothing to the US economy.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Raghav Luthra: “Two MDI faculty members conducted my interview at MDI Gurgoan. It lasted 40 minutes and was relaxed; it felt like I was discussing with the panellists.

I used to devote a significant amount of time to read newspapers. You must be mindful of your surroundings them in whatever is going on around you plays an important role. It'd also be useful in the VARC portion of cat. General knowledge, academics, and job-related questions in the case of an experienced aspirant, as well as general HR questions, are three critical aspects of the interview.

I had my general responses prepared and used to revise every day leading up to my interview. Also, I used to spend a lot of time on Study IQ, a YouTube channel dedicated to general knowledge.

And, whether you're going for an interview or a mock interview, make a list of the questions that were posed so you can go back to them later.”

Mention at least 5 interview questions that were asked to you and your responses to each of them.

Raghav Luthra: “Q-1 How will you contribute to the college clubs and committees?

Ans - I'm familiar with your college's academic clubs and other committees outside of class, and I'm particularly interested in joining the cultural committee. Though I was a member of this committee in my undergraduate college, I believe that my three years of experience would be useful to your college committees.

Q-2 What kind of extracurricular events have you taken part in?

Ans - For all three years of college, I was a member of my undergrad cultural committee. I discovered that as my event and people management skills developed, so did my communication skills. During my school years, I was also a member of a non-profit organisation where I helped collect funds and organise various campaigns.

Q-3 Why are you interested in studying Marketing as a major?

Ans - I am very interested in pursuing a career in marketing because an MBA with a specialisation in marketing is important not only for today's job market, but it also plays a significant role in shaping the career of someone who enjoys public speaking and customer interaction.

Q-4 What skills do you expect to gain from this college experience?

Ans - I believe that my writing and communication abilities could be enhanced. I intend to devote my class time to honing my skills in this field. I believe that honing these abilities will help me improve as a writer and public speaker.

Q-5 How did you decide to pursue MDI?

Ans - MDI Gurgaon has earned accreditation from several prestigious organisations, including the NBA, the Association of MBAs, and AMDISA, which is based in South Africa. It holds the distinction of becoming the country's first globally accredited business school. And when it comes to exposing students to the industry, MDI certainly knows how to take advantage of its illustrious reputation and strategic position. All of the major names hold corporate talks during the year, offering students a great opportunity to connect with people and alumni, which aids in their overall growth.”

Mention 3 reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Raghav Luthra: “My motivation for joining MDI is, of course, the brand name and the fact that it is one of India's largest schools for management training and development. MDI is situated on a tranquil 12-acre campus. The ManDeVian group has a unique experience of artistic atmosphere amidst industrial exposure since it is located on the outskirts near the industrial area. MDI has also built a powerful and influential network of professionals, many of whom are in charge of businesses, industries, and serving the nation. They have made a name for themselves and their alma mater, and they are MDI's pride and joy. Members of the MDI alumni network come from all of MDI's postgraduate programmes.

As a result, it offers the ideal setting for taking a break from the mundane world to comfortably imbibe, peacefully introspect, and eventually understand.”

What was the reason for you not converting to other colleges?

Raghav Luthra: “I was able to convert the majority of the colleges for which I filled out the forms; however, I was unable to convert one college, and my GD and interview did not go well. Questions about general knowledge and academics, as well as the history of my hometown, were asked. I answered all of the questions honestly, but this was my first interview, so I didn't have a lot of experience.”
