Karunya, Tamil Nadu - A team of students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Karunya deemed university, accredited by NAAC A++, has won the prestigious Intel Unnati Grand Challenge Winter 2022, earning a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh. The challenge, which was held at the Indian Institute of Sciences in Bengaluru, saw the students develop a decision support system for traffic control using state-of-the-art technology.
The Intel Unnati Grand Challenge is an annual competition that invites students from institutes across India to participate in problem-solving activities using cutting-edge technology. This year, the challenge featured four problem statements that focused on the hybrid control of utility systems. The Karunya team was able to rise to the occasion, using the Upsquare Extreme Edge Computing device available in the Intel Unnati Lab at Karunya to build a prototype of their decision support system.
