Being a Head of the Public Administration Department, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

"I am responsible to ensure smooth functioning of department and guide faculties and students"

As the Head of the Department, I am responsible for designing and developing the curriculum to cater to the academic needs of students and inculcate finest technical knowledge and ethical values in them. Apart from this, improving their overall personality to make them industry ready, giving them a safe and cordial study environment and bringing best learning opportunities for them in college also comes under the scope of my responsibilities.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty members?

"By providing them an open and trustworthy environment to communicate and being a good listener"

To maintain a healthy and cordial relationship with everyone, be it my dear students or colleagues, I regularly interact with them through discussion sessions so that I can get to know them, their queries and issues from their point of view. I never delay in resolving their academic queries so that they can think of innovative solutions for some real world issues. And coming to faculties, so I make my help and support available for them whenever they need me.

How do you bring in a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By regularly assigning projects and assessment exercises to students to apply their knowledge to solve issues"

For the purpose of enforcing an industry oriented and practical approach towards subjects, we regularly assign mini and major projects and assignments to our students and also organise events like industry interaction sessions, case study discussions.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum of college to suit student requirements?

"It is designed after rigorous consultation with faculty members, industry and subject matter experts"

The Feedback Monitoring Committee of our institute gathers feedback related to curriculum from the students on a regular basis and accordingly provides their suggestions to enhance the quality of programs. And their suggestions are then discussed with the Board of Studies which is composed of external and industry experts. Also the curriculum of our college is revised every 2 or 3 years after rigorous consultation with students and other faculty members. We believe that in this dynamic and unpredictable world, it is necessary to stay on top of trends hence the content is updated to reflect such shifts.

What are your views on the placements and higher education of the students from your department?

"The T&P cell of our college provide full support and train our students for actual interview process"

The Training and Placement Cell fully supports our department with respect to training of students and placement drives. And the courses we offer are capable enough to prepare students to understand and perform in Governmental settings or take up governmental projects.

How do you prepare your students to deal with the outside competitive world?

"By encouraging them to believe in themselves and giving them perfect ambiance to develop their skills"

We prepare our students to face this competitive world with more courage and confidence by encouraging them to stay calm and positive during tough times, and by asking them not to compare their individuality with anyone as they are unique and amazing in their own way. Also by assigning them projects and assessment exercises for in-depth analysis of public policies gives students a better edge to deal with outside competition.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of students?

"Events and activities such as seminars, field visits, guest sessions are arranged by us"

Our college truly appreciates the fact that extra-curricular activities are as equally important as academics for all around development of students. Hence events and activities like Poster Competitions on burning themes, Seminars, Field Visits, Internships and Guest Lectures are regularly conducted by our college.

What approaches do you bring in apart from the curriculum to teach the students?

"Situation based projects and assignments are assigned to students to educate them beyond curriculum"

We use an amalgamation of several tools, techniques and academic practices to educate our students beyond curriculum and to offer them an industry oriented education. In addition to this, real-time situational projects are assigned to students on a regular basis. Last but not the least, we supplement the existing skills and knowledge of students using academic activities, games, open discussion sessions and assignments.

Any valuable advice which you would like to give to the students for a prosperous career ahead?

"Keep updating yourself and define realistic short term goals to make a better future for yourself"

I would suggest to my students to continuously improve their skills and stay updated with the latest trends and developments of the industrial world. Also pursue your own passion instead of listening to others and look for suitable internships and work study programs to supplement and assess your subject knowledge.
