What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“Expansion, Access and equity with international standard”

Along with the increase in gross enrolment rate and quality of education, we must keep a check on constraints in research opportunities and uneven access to educational opportunities as well. There is a huge gap between ground reality and the reality reflected on paper. We must ensure high participation and equal access by implementing strong and conformational policies in the education system.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Inspiration, Collaboration, Transformation”

Leadership is a responsibility of inspiring others to work collaboratively towards accomplishment of common goals. I feel that leadership in educational institutes is dynamic, diverse and complex, demanding more competence as a leader. Only an effective leadership can drive an educational institute to innovate, develop and excel. A leader must work towards establishing a supportive relationship which promotes free exchange of ideas. Such an environment is congenial and conducive for working.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 5 years?

“Global professional perspectives for students and society”

We are committed to providing quality and better educational services to our students and staff. We aspire to emerge as an institute with high academic excellence and standard professional outputs at national and international level. We are seeking to initiate MOU’s with international universities so as to promote faculty and student exchange programmes for development of wider perspectives and provide rich academic resources to students and teachers. Collaborations and research projects will be promoted so as to provide a platform to the researchers to make an international impact. We aim to mark a change in transformation of society and that more innovations and ideas can be conceived.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your university?

“Consecrate a positive and diversified working environment”

An influential and safe learning environment based on positive relationships between all the members is necessary to maintain discipline and coordination among staff and students in an organization. We respect the concept of diversity and inclusion where we embrace diversity- cultural, social and economic, and respect the perspectives of pupils and teachers coming from variant economic and social backgrounds. I ensure that my students and teachers feel safe and supported in our institution with a friendly approach towards their career and life.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Designing and implementing a well industrial design”

Adopting more influential and best practical and theoretical practices for curriculum designing and implementation of skill training is essential to ensure a bright future for the students. We constantly work to provide more structural, accessible and quality courses to our students by collaborating with the industry to define the graduate attributes, qualification descriptors and learning outcomes in a well defined manner. Also regular industrial visits of the students, expert talks by the industry personnel, participation of students in industry events or competitions are the practices adopted to reduce the gap between academia and industry.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

“Clear your vision, know your strength and work hard”

Our youth, nowadays, is becoming more impatient and empathetic, lacking a vision and aim in their life. They must arise, awake and face the challenges of life in a more creative and meaningful manner. They must follow the wisdom engraved in our rich culture and philosophy, recognise your capabilities and abilities, and put their energies and dynamism for the social and economic upliftment of the society. India needs youth that are not only well educated and enlightened, but also the one who are innovators, creators and transformers.
