What are your roles and responsibilities?
“To make students future ready by providing them opportunities”
As a HOD (Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering) of Gaikwad Patil Group of Institutions my responsibilities towards the students are to maintain standards, ensure safety and discipline, to take and evaluate assessments to measure student performance. Using technology, we learn and productivity of students.
What extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the student’s skills?
“We organize various academic and cultural activities”
Every year we conduct activities like forum activity in department named as “INVICTUS” under which various programs such as circuit making competition on breadboard, extempore competition, inter departmental project competition, technical quiz, and debate competition are conducted by students for the students of own as well as for other institution’s students. In addition to this our institute has an AICTE sponsored club for students named as “STEM CLUB” where national level events have been organized by students. Under NSS we organize a program namely Unnat Bharat Abhiyan to provide service toward society which promotes students to be more active in civic engagement and concerned of citizenship.
How does the curriculum of college ensure future preparedness of students?

The curriculum has been designed as per outcome base education (OBE) where we offer a choice based credit system (CBCS) which has numerous advantages over the conventional system. We organize search conferences where renowned industrialists and our alumni who are working in reputed companies helped us to identify the gaps between the syllabus and industry.

How do you introduce practical and industry oriented approaches towards subjects?
“By assigning projects to students on real-world issues”
We help to provide internship opportunities to the students in different domains from third year itself as our institute is located near industry areas. We also encourage them to get involved in various micro projects, mini projects on zero PCB and simulation based projects for enhancing their practical skill towards the subjects. We also take assessment in the form of activity related to the respective subjects.
What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach the students?

We provide value added courses to the students like Quantum Electronics, Plastic Electronics, Free Form Electronics. These courses are conducted by professionals and industry experts that help students stand apart from the rest in the job market.

Our institute is one of the NAAC “A+” grade institutes (with 3.32 GCPA). We provide Akash scholarships for economically weaker students. Our institute has registered an Incubation center where students can inculcate their new idea into a startup.

“To shift to online mode of learning for both students and faculties”
The biggest challenge is student engagement in online classes during the pandemic situation. Some students who either come from weaker sections of society and can’t afford smartphones and don’t have access to electricity, are facing the major issues and few faculties are also not adopted to this teaching method.

Be Future-Focused, real life begins at graduation for students. They begin to put their knowledge into use and manage their own finances and life plans.
