What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“A passion towards academics and desire to help students excel”

A lot of changes are required to incorporate into our education system to cater to the need of the nation. The traditional way of teaching needs to be assisted by the education 4.0 methodology to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Though it’s a challenge, but also the biggest motivation for me. The aim is to develop an environment where apart from regular studies, interpersonal, communication, innovation, ideation and entrepreneurship skills become an integral part of education. We at PIET, want to produce job providers rather than job seekers only.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

"Let students be free to explore and learn new things"

A strong leadership philosophy is a key to successfully running a team, organization or any business. My leadership style is to provide space and freedom to students to innovate and learn new things. I let them explore their own ideas. By this way the student has more chances to learn and grow.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?

“Bringing industry expertise to curriculum design and delivery”

In today’s educational system, the participation of industries in curriculum design and delivery at institutions and universities is very much essential. It helps prepare the students for better employment. Students will be able to become industry-ready with this collaboration between industry and institutions. In PIET, apart from the regular curriculum, we constantly focus on add-on courses on emerging technologies.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We strive to be a pioneer in providing entrepreneurs and technologists of excellence”

The top priority of the Institute over the next 10 years should be as follows:

  • To become a pioneer in providing excellent entrepreneurs and technocrats to serve the nation.
  • Providing a friendly and healthy environment for its students.
  • Research and innovation should be provided with excellent opportunities.
  • Develop an "earn while you learn" system.

What has been your vision for the university?

“Creating an environment that is centered on innovation and research”

My first impression of the Institute was quite positive. My vision was of an environment that promotes innovation and research. All of us are working hard to establish such an environment, and today I can say that my vision is flourishing at the Institute. A strong support system for my visions is provided by the Super-30 batch, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Incubation Centre, Solution Lab, Centers of Excellence and Technical Clubs.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

“Received a grant of Rs. 55 lakhs from AICTE to setup the IDEA LAB”

In addition to an innovative and creative learning environment, our institute offers a wide range of career development opportunities. For students, the institute has an Incubation Center, a Super-30 batch, a Center of excellence, an Entrepreneurship development cell, Courses on Emerging Technologies, and lecture capturing rooms. The Institute recently received a grant of Rs. 55 lakhs from the AICTE for setting up an IDEA LAB.

What changes has Covid-19 brought to the education sector?

“A student-centric approach to academics has been developed”

Covid-19 has brought many changes in the education sector. Offline teaching was shifted to online teaching which is a challenging task for both students and teachers. Due to this many online resources were explored. Due to Covid-19, the teacher centric classroom approach has been totally changed with the student-centric approach.

Are there any placement opportunities for the students?

“Students get great placement packages from reputed companies”

Placement is the backbone of any institute. As an academic institute, we have an excellent placement track. A wider number of reputed companies come for placement and students are placed on very good packages. We always support students for placement activities by conducting placement-oriented sessions on aptitude, reasoning, and other advanced tools which are in high demand in the industry.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your institute?

Academic events, annual alumni meetings, PTMs, mentor-mentee meetings”

Teachers and students can both become happier and healthier if they are in a happy and healthy environment, just as trees cannot thrive in an unsophisticated environment. There are occasionally club activities arranged in college to involve students from the interdisciplinary environment, which makes the atmosphere healthier and more competitive. During such activities, students benefit from better interaction as well as develop their creative and innovative skills. In order to create a healthier environment, intercollege academic events, annual alumni meetings, PTMs, mentor-mentee meetings and other activities are organized.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

“Make sure you set goals and strive to reach them”

In order to achieve your financial goal, set goals first and then work hard towards them. Additionally, avoid negative self-verification, and keep yourself fit and healthy by doing some exercise 30 minutes a day and by meditating daily.
