What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The education sector is the foundation of any nation/society/economy”

I have had a long career in the engineering education sector. The contribution of the Engineering sectors is increasing by the day. It is the responsibility of the institutions to provide skilled and knowledgeable human resources to support the nation. At A D Patel Institute of Technology (ADIT), CVM University continually strives for excellence and adapts measures to continually improve our quality by encouraging good faculty members and world-class infrastructure. ADIT also adapts to ISO 9000: 2015 for its different processes. ADIT also encourages various departments to adhere to the NBA, NAAC, and other global quality standards in engineering education.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Our leadership style is transformational”

ADIT is a CVM University Institution which is part of Charutar VidyaMandal, a 75-year-old Public Trust promoted by Iron Man of India Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The management under the current leadership of Er Shri Bhikubhai Patel (Chairman, CVM, President, CVM University) is fully committed to offering education of Global Standards with World Class Infrastructure.

At ADIT, we believe in transformational leadership, offering opportunities for our Faculty members, students, Alumni. We help them to bring out the best in them. We encourage our stakeholders to acquire different skill sets to promote the overall personality development of individuals.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“We make sure to align our ideology with that of industry standards”

Our essential programs are mainly focused on industry demand, global engineering trends, and emerging technologies. We have eight undergraduate branches, namely Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Food Processing Technology, Mechanical Engineering. We have 6 Post Graduate Courses in Signal Processing, Thermal Engineering, Food Technology, CAD/CAM, Artificial Intelligence, and Renewable Energy. We offer a PhD program in all the mentioned branches.

We are part of CVM University. There is traditional marketing and administration methodology followed conforming to the best global practices.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. What are your views on it?

“Students are prepared for the challenges waiting ahead”

The foreign education system is centered around practical exposure rather than theoretical aspects. They give an orientation to contemporary developments and technologies to the students both through theory and practical classes. Moreover, many industries are tied up with universities, and most of their product development and research happen with the collaboration of Professors in Universities. In India, such kind of association exists only in IITs and some selected institutes. Indian academic system is focused more on theoretical aspects than practical because of several reasons.

Moreover, the syllabus for engineering and technology in most universities and institutes is outdated and requires a massive overhaul. At CVM University, we impart the relevant knowledge and exposure to students conforming to global standards. We also offer additional certificate courses like Programming in AI and ML, Robotics, Electric Vehicle Technologies, Renewable Energy Technologies, Industrial automation, etc. for all students irrespective of their branch of study.

How does the curriculum of A D Patel Institute of Technology ensure the best practice of industry?

“It is imperative to continuously evolve the system to bring in necessary changes”

The industry expects engineers whose fundamentals are clear and have hands-on experience with the recent developments in both hardware and software aspects of all engineering branches. ADIT always tried to fulfill those requirements even though the state university system provided little scope for that. We are a constituent college of CVM University. We are confident that we can fulfill the industry demands and even beyond. We have ensured the participation of industry and prominent research organizations in the development of the curriculum. We have already introduced three initiative oriented and novel post graduate programs in Renewable Energy, Artificial Intelligence, and Food Technology.
