Harlal Institute of Management & Technology

Being the Chairman of the Institute, what has been your vision for HIMT so far?

“Establishing a quality educational institution for all”

On the very first day, I decided to create a world-class environment in HIMT for my students which provides a competitive edge to my students in terms of quality education or other facilities. HIMT Group of Institutions has been able to achieve its avowed purpose of making higher and technical education accessible to the weaker and deprived section of our society. I also ensured that every student in our various institutions should be able to identify and nurture their talent and skills. Now we are trying to get accredited. Our aim is to prepare our students for a lucrative career and help them in their personal development as well.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

“Standard academic rigor with full exposure”

HIMT has emerged as the contemporary seat of learning and higher education in a very short span of time. The courses presently being provided by us are the best one can get. Our Institute is recognized by the Government of India. We are affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow & Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut and our technical courses are approved by AICTE. We provide enough exposure to the students even at the undergraduate level and as a result, they are able to perform in a high-quality environment that could not be found in the students of other colleges. We provide students with abundant facilities and opportunities to let them master their skills and represent their talents on relevant platforms as per the dynamic corporate environment.

What is your philosophy on leadership?

“Strong task management and participation”

I believe a leader is one who leads from the front and takes the team all along. I strongly believe that a leader must be truly sincere, dedicated and keen to adopt new practices of learning. They should enter into any challenging arena and achieve success through focused attention and an inspiring atmosphere. Being the leader of the institution, I think that it is my responsibility to give the best of everything to my students and stand up to their expectations.

How do you maintain a productive environment in HIMT?

“Activities for active participation of students”

We have some appreciation programs in which we give rewards to students who perform well in academics and represent the institute at various platforms and different fields. The rules are very clear and applicable to all. We are very particular about the attendance and performance of our students. Also, we organize time-to-time events and workshops for students for their practical knowledge and experience. I take care of all the minor details that are necessary for the development of the students in my institutions. I personally attend and organize conferences and seminars that could be beneficial for the growth of our students.

What are the greatest strengths of the institute?

“Open-to-all approach for a large participation of students”

We have plenty of seats for students who are willing to undertake world-class education. We provide a variety of courses and platforms for students with different sorts of interests for overall development. All together we have a big family of more than 4,000 students and we try to make the best of talent for each student of our family. Apart from that, we also trained our students as per the needs and requirements of the corporate world. Thus, our majority of students get placed and a high percentage of PG students are placed every year.

How is your institute more welcoming to the students of diverse backgrounds?

“Various schemes and prospered ethnic diversity”

In our colleges, students don’t just come from Uttar Pradesh only but from almost all the states of India. Every student brings his/her regional culture to our institute and we cherish as well as celebrate all the festivals and activities of each culture. We organize the annual cultural function in which we try to inculcate all the ethnicities and cultures of all. We also have various schemes such as an internal scholarship scheme for economically backward students, “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” scheme for meritorious female students having 70% plus marks either in 10+2 and UG Programme.

How do you guide your students to cope in this highly competitive environment?

“Regular mentorship and value addition”

The quality of education we provide in our institutes makes them capable enough to compete with top-class competitors. If students are willing to go abroad for further studies, they are given the opportunity to prepare for future studies and given proper guidance. And as a result, students get placed in MNCs and many students get the chance to go abroad either for studies or through placements. The alumnus who graduated from our college gives guidance to their fellow mates for their future. We also provide additional certified courses such as Digital Marketing, Advance Excel, etc. which are managed through appropriate outsource with no extra cost.

What according to you should be the top priority of HIMT for the next 5 years?

“More practical exposure to students and recognitions for institute”

Our main priority is to keep improving the quality of education that we provide. Also, we want to get accredited all the graduate courses to improve the quality and make our students ready to face the competition. We regularly keep enhancing our teaching staff, hostel facilities, cultural environment and the practical exposure that we provide. We also want to groom our students with the best practices in the industry.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Choose wisely and learn a lot”

Students should choose their career very carefully as it is going to be the building blocks of their future. They should take proper counselling and guidance before choosing their career. Also, they should opt for that college/institute which assures them good returns and placements in times to come. Keep learning always and never give up.

How does HIMT ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

“Enriching academics with extracurricular and placement opportunities”

We provide an environment in which enthusiastic and committed people will have access to high-quality learning and teaching supported by staff drawn from academic and professional backgrounds. In addition to academics, HIMT is providing opportunities for students to be involved in social and cultural events, community activity and governance. These experiences will enable the students to develop their skills as a citizen, a leader and further, prepare them for future challenges. Moreover, we have a well-developed placement cell that regularly stays in contact with good companies in India and abroad. Our students get placed in the corporate, banking sector and government jobs. Even there are many students who are galloping in the field of entrepreneurship.
