Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Shruti Kumari: “It was a huge hall with approximately 40 Students in it and 6-7 moderators. We got the topic, written in a small piece of paper. We have written about the topic in 15 mins and extra 5 mins were provided for collecting some pre-thoughts about the topic. Word limit was also there, which is approximately 250 words”.

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Shruti Kumari: The WAT topic was " Impact of capitalism on the income gap".

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Shruti Kumari: I started with a general definition of capitalism and its positive and negative impact on the income gap on Indian society. The format that I followed was 50 words for introduction, 150 words for body and another 50 words for conclusion. I usually start my essay from one famous quote by any of the famous personalities. Here I started with a quote of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. “The world has enough for everyone’s needs, but not everyone’s greed,”.
