Dr. Mridula Sharma, Director of FMG Group of Institutions

Dr. Mridula Sharma currently holds the position of the Director at AICTE approved Management Institute, FMG Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, UP.

Dr. Mridula has 26 years of teaching experience in-Development Economics, Manpower Planning, Rural Development and Research Methodology.

Her educational achievements include PhD Ph.D Economics (1990) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; M.Phil Economics, GPA (-A) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; M.A Economics First Division from Jamia Millia University, New Delhi; B.A Honors Economics from Delhi University, New Delhi.

She has taught in various esteemed institutes such as Institute of Applied Manpower Research, (IAMR), Jawaharlal Nehru University and Association of Indian Universities.

She has undertaken various research projects and has several publications as well.

It has been a mixed experience. Sometimes it is rewarding, but sometimes it becomes very frustrating. But challenges always keep you going on and look forward for some good results.

My philosophy is to take every one with me in the journey of achieving excellence in providing education. Personal touch, care and understanding of different characters, help in motivating staff for achieving desired results. We believe in promoting family atmosphere where every staff member has freedom of expression but result oriented attitude.

Qualities that over the years helped Dr. Mridula and the entire management create a brand name for FMG Group of Institutions

We make our students feel comfortable. We never reject any student even during critical times, be polite and affectionate but firm in making decisions. The student-centered teaching-learning process helps us a lot to reach weak students. Every student is a unique case for us and we deal accordingly. We always tell students, that it is the students who give name to the institution and not the institution.

Growth of students through placement opportunities available at FMG Group of Institutions

As far as courses such as Fashion Design and Fine Arts are concerned, students get job offers before completion of courses. For management Courses MBA, BCA and BBA students are usually interested in entrepreneurship. Students of these courses either come from business background or they want to start their own business. So, we work with them accordingly.

Dr. Mridula’s relationship with the students

The doors of my room are always open for my students. Students can come to me for discussing their problems anytime. Students confide in me. I always try to solve their problems without disclosing their respective names in public. I believe in giving personal touch to students. Happiness of students in a positive way is my top priority.

Curriculum at FMG Group of Institutions

Curriculum is given by the university. And required changes are made time to time to ensure best practices of the industry. Latest curriculum is designed to prepare students to meet the local, national and global needs of the industry further institution-industry relationship and frequent interaction with industry officials provide guidelines and suggestions to relate theory to practice. It is basically the teaching learning process which is more important in relating theory to the practice.

Significant challenges faced as the Director of FMG Group of Institutions

We get students mainly from rural background. These students come to us with the accumulated educational deficit. They have problem of language, self confidence and contents too. But they have some plus points as they have native intelligence, want to grow and do not require unlearning in many aspects. So, challenges in front of us are to use their strengths taking them out of their weaknesses and problems and help them to grow and become a good professional with strong moral values.

Goals do you have in your mind for your institute for the next few years

Management is not at all interested in making profit out of this venture because the institute is opened to fulfil the dream of the father of Chairman to provide quality and excellent education to the youth who in turn will work for the development of society and humanity.

Suggestions for the current youth and the aspiring students

Youth is always full of energy. Our aim should be to utilize /channelize their energy for contractive work. Hence, youth should be involved in lots of activities along with the education. They should have avenues to utilize their energy as well as knowledge and should be have given freedom of expressions.
