Dr. Anuradha Garg is an HOD of the BCA Department in the Alankar PG Girls College, Jaipur. She did BA, and MA from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Later, she completed B.ed in M.D.University, Rohtak and M.phil from University of Rajasthan. She did PhD in Computer Science from Jagannath University, Jaipur. She published various papers within the International Journals. 

Being the HOD, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students in Alankar PG Girls College?

“To lead, manage, develop the department and provide strong academic leadership”

Primary role of the Head of the Department is to provide strong academic leadership. Other duties include lead, manage and develop the department. It is essential to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all activities of a department. The computer field is the most growing today. Hence, everyone knows the latest development in the IT sector.

How do you tend to establish health relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Build positive relations, clear communication and trust among all members”

We maintain good relationships on campus to get started early. Always build positive relationships with students. Focus on clear communication among students and speak their language. Use humor, tech, or other strategies to get on their level. Trust is the primary factor that makes your students hold on to decisions. 

How do you try to bring in a practical approach to subjects and make them industry oriented?

“Keep up industrial skills related subjects on the curriculum for students' growth”

We can access great benefits from an industry-focused education. It concentrates on both academic and practical skills. Graduates have a clear competitive advantage when they apply for jobs. Being involved in a computer industry-focused means two things such as keeping up with the industry and involving the industry.

How do you strategize the curriculum and get updated for the students in Alankar PG Girls College?

“Develop plans, methods, collect and devise materials for students”

We focus on vision, objectives, and student needs on campus. It is essential to identify resources and develop experiences that meet the objectives. We collect or devise materials and lock down the specifics of the task. Update the syllabus with new plans, methods, and processes.

What are your views on the placements and higher education of the students from Alankar PG Girls College?

Our institute consists of placement cells and we improve College profile at all times. Students get training, hospitality and placements. Our networking is everything and we maintain professionalism. How do you help your student cope with the competition being so high in the outside world?

“Mix fun in lessons, offer rewards and create a positive competition on campus”

We try to create a positive competition on campus. Additionally, our campus offers Rewards for students. It helps students to set their goals and mix fun into the lesson.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

“Online or offline seminars, and workshops on IT, action-oriented are available for pupils”

Our department conducts activities that are experiential, hands-on, conduct online/offline seminars, workshops on IT, action-oriented, and based on experience. Action can be exposed in three parts such as act of doing, experience received in the doing process and learning accumulated from the experience. We promote learning about real-world entrepreneurship. Students in entrepreneurship develop actual businesses and experiment with computers.

What are the challenges you faced to uplift the quality of education of Alankar PG Girls College?

“Engage with Parents, Focus on Student Retention, Empowerment and more”

We revise educational programs based on Industry changes and retrain Faculty Staff. Some of the challenges faced by us include making education more collaborative and focusing on student retention. We decide to encourage student empowerment and engage with Parents or Guardians. Additionally, we apply for higher accreditation.
