Dr. E Nandakumar is presently serving as the Principal at Sasurie College of Engineering, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. With several years of teaching and research experience, he has published 06 patents, and 3 SCI indexed, 19 Scopus indexed and 12 UGC refereed journals. Also, he has received various awards including the “best contribution in teaching field award” from ESN Research group, Chennai. In addition, Dr. E Nandakumar also has a vast number of Conference Proceedings, Books and Journal publications under his name. He has signed MoUs with different companies as well.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Readily approachable and accessible”

According to my point of view of leadership, every leader should be easily approachable by anybody in that institution, so that he/she can take care of any issues related to the surroundings. Only then he/she could know what the problem the staff is facing and can take care of them not only for the institution’s sake but also, for the social responsibility purpose as well. This creates a positive culture and a happy to work environment in the organization. A leader should be an easily approachable person, actively understanding the problem and quickly trying to solve it. 

How do you strategize the key plans for the marketing of your college?

“Utilization of social media applications”

We regularly keep on posting the achievements of our students and faculty on the social media pages. Even on whatsapp, we have certain groups where we post details and exchange ideas. Whenever we achieve any milestone, we digitally promote it on our website and network handles, so that people from outside world get to know about our college in detail. Also, we get very good admissions through these mediums as well.

How does the curriculum of your College ensure the best practice of industry?

“Online and offline practical activities”

As we are affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, we follow the curriculum of the University which itself is revised every five year on the basis of industry requirements. The curriculum is good for getting placement in the current scenario as well as knowledge in every field. Apart from the curriculum, we have various online courses available for the betterment of the student’s skills and practice. Especially for CSE students, we are giving a platform for software development. Also, we encourage students to write various research papers as well as to participate in various symposiums and competitions outside the college.

What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?

“Different range of facilities for potential development”

We have a very good and furnished infrastructure, with well-equipped laboratories and classes that are facilitated with the latest gadgets and amenities. We also have a green and soothing campus, which is very peaceful for studying and learning. Faculties are also very experienced and specialized in their studies. We are also providing scholarships to the first graduate, SC scholarship and also different kinds of financial aid being offered to our students by the government and the university.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Learn new skills each day”

From my point of view, any student who is hard-working, motivated and possesses potential skills, will definitely succeed in life, whatever the field is. Students must invest their time learning advanced skills relatable to the current scenario.

Being the Principal, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

“Providing best placements and training”

After assuming the position of the principal in the college, I am giving very much importance to placement, training for placements, on campus placements and off-campus placement of students in various sectors. We have increased our focus towards this area. Another important point is the teaching learning methodology. We are using modern technology to provide learning to the students in the online mode as well. For the students, I must also provide all the encouragement and motivation to go in all the aspects of life and not just the curriculum only. Students should also be trained in every way possible to reach as high as possible.
