What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“Ability to inspire and motivate the young generation to follow their passion”
Teaching is a very noble profession. Teachers are entrusted with the responsibility of building a nation. They also play a key role in imbibing moral and human values in the new generation. Those words of Chanakya, "Rashtra Nirman ka dayitva shikshak ke haath mein hai '' inspire me greatly. Apart from this, the day to day interactions with young minds motivates me a lot.
What is your philosophy of leadership?
“Leaders not only lead by example, but also identify potential leaders”
I keep motivating my faculty staff members to acquire skills that meet their needs. They are motivated to participate in Faculty Development Programs, courses on the Swayam portal, training programs on universal human values, and publish papers in prestigious journals. It is imperative for all to remain abreast with the latest technologies prevailing in industries. The faculty members are motivated to undergo industrial training.
How do you plan the marketing and administration of your school?
“Focus on promoting the STEM-related programs plays a key role”
In the current context, students have a tendency to neglect STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from the time of their school days onwards. A nation's economy is driven by science and technology. It is crucial that STEM disciplines are ignited from the beginning of schooling. We at SVIT, offer many such programs for STEM promotion. Visiting schools to conduct presentations on career guidance and STEM workshops. School students in and around the location are invited to the campus for witnessing national level technical events organised by the institute.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different backgrounds?
“A fund to aid and support economically disadvantaged students”
Socializing and interacting with the students of different races and different economic backgrounds has a positive influence on personal and academic development. Many students come from backward castes and backgrounds. To promote higher education to them they are allotted reserve seats and a separate cell is also established to resolve any issues they face. We have also set up an International Students Cell for the well being of international students. Under the student exchange program many of our students have visited our partnered universities in the US as well as in Canada. Our institute has also set up a poor students’ fund to help the students with the low income group. 10% of the total intake in all the branches of engineering are reserved for students with low family income and are given 100% relaxation in fees.

“Teamwork is essential. Improve your leadership and initiative skills”
Keep your social media presence to a minimum, decide early about your career plans, and stick to them. The time they spend in the classroom should be dedicated to learning. The students do not attend classes even when they are on campus. Learn all technical skills related to the selected discipline. Make a list of people who inspire you. You should also take part in extracurricular activities.
